Pratland Music Adventures is awesome!!! I was so happy with my singing lessons. Super professional, and I learned a lot of things I didn't know!! I will keep working with them, and highly recommend them!!
Rachel was my first cello teacher, and her instruction was consistently inspired. She reassured and encouraged me as an older beginner, and I will always cherish that first early learning.
I can’t exclaim enough how awesome Kaitlin was to work with. She has a great ear and immediately layed down a professional quality overdub with little to no direction on my project. She made the song hers in the best way possible. She’s very charming and a great studio musician, I’ll come to her if I ever need cello for years.
Laura is amazing at coming up with creative ways of teaching my two very different daughters. Laura excels at individual learning styles and adapts her teaching accordingly. My oldest is a responsible more introvert learner, who has been in Laura's studio for over 9 years. She reads music beautifully and has impressive musicality. She also enjoys playing pop music and can read chord charts. Laura has given her a solid musical foundation. My youngest is at the beginning of her lessons and is a more extrovert/kinetic learner. Again, Laura has adapted her teaching style to fit my daughter's learning style. Recitals are amazing as you hear beginners and accomplished students perform. I highly recommend Laura!
Rex Mitchell taught my 12 year old son cello lessons. My son began practicing more and enjoyed going to his lessons. Rex kept the lessons interesting, while working on the skills my son needed to learn. I highly recommend Rex Mitchell.
Aaron is a spectacular teacher. My two sons were so excited to learn the cello and we’ve had such a great experience since beginning lessons. Would definitely recommend him as a teacher for students of any level!
Tessa was very patient with my daughter. Tessa always had a smile on her face and made cello fun for my daughter. Tessa would not only teach her the songs, but theory, counting, and always had the songs memorized. She challenged my daughter. We had a wonderful experience with Tessa!
I love the convenience of having a teacher come to my home. It saves me time and allows my other young children to be at home playing while we do a lesson. Our violin teacher is amazing. She has creative ideas to engage my sons attention and is very friendly. My son loves his violin and is excited to see his teacher each week! The group lessons are very nice and help my son connect with other students that are on his same level. I'm so happy that we are a part of the Medley Academy.
I am ready to help you on your cello journey! I am accepting students in Salt Lake County right now. I have 15 years of teaching experience. I have taught students of all ages and all levels, from Suzuki Book 1 to concertos. I have taught lessons through my own studio and at BYU. To help my students, I have posted videos on YouTube so that they have examples of assigned pieces and etudes. I believe in a balance of scales, technical exercises, and beautiful pieces. I graduated from Brigham Young University in cello performance in 2009. I participated in the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra, of which I was the principal cellist. I also participated in the BYU Chamber Orchestra with whom I traveled on tours to Central Europe and the New England states. I also was selected to perform with the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra in Evening of Concertos in 2004. In 2007, I was chosen to be part of the BYU Honors String Quartet. I have received instruction from cello professors at Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, and Northwestern University. I have also participated in master classes with cellists, like Bernard Greenhouse (Beaux Arts Trio), Pegsoon Whang (Utah Symphony), and Daniel Muller-Schott (world-renowned soloist). I have won the ASTA (American String Teachers Association) Utah Solo competition (junior division-2003, senior division-2008) and I was runner-up in the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) Utah young artist division.
My goal is to help each student develop a love an appreciation for music, reach their full potential and achieve their personal goals. I expect my students to be committed and hardworking; in return, I will give my best to help them develop as musicians. I enjoy teaching all ages and skill levels. I am happy when my students do their best, whether they simply want to play for the joy of it or want to become a professional musician.
We customize most every job to your needs! We enjoy sharing various styles of music with our students. We have training in both traditional and Suzuki methods.
I offer night and day, one-on-one tutoring for all levels. I can travel for my clients, or they can come to my residence. I provide all the books and tools needed for every session. If a student prefers, he/she can take home materials for practice. I teach ages 3 years and above and can work with a student up to 3 days a week. Scheduling is made at the parent's, guardian's (and/or) student's discretion. I do not work in a very strict environment. I want all my students to enjoy the art of learning and to fully grasp every session and always take something informational away. If you are wanting a background check, please let me know; I would be happy to provide you with one. Thanks.
