I hired Chef Kev through Thumbtack because he replied promptly to my request and already had a suggested menu based off of my needs. The event was my 1 year wedding anniversary and I requested drop-off catering for a buffet style dinner. The only change that I'd make is the time. Chef Kev was delayed due to traffic but looking back, if he was able to arrive just 15-20 minutes sooner I may have been less distracted and frantic! LOL! Everything else was absolutely awesome. The price was great, the flavor and creativity were amazing... all of my guests enjoyed the food! If I ever decide to hold another large event, Chef Kev will be the first caterer I call!

4.5 Drapes were there before we arrived and looked good. The only hitch was that they had told my wedding coordinator that they would come back on Monday to pick up the drapes (Wedding was on Saturday) which kind of stressed us out but we just thought we'd deal with it later. But then at the end of the wedding the vendors came and took it down which was great, but we could have done without the added stress.

Best value you could get in a wedding catering company! Quick basic info on my wedding since yours might be different: Late May wedding in Maryland, 7-hour reception with cocktail hour and dinner, approx. 100 guests, Manor, garden & tented reception setting, buffet dinner including a mix of food and drinks representing the cultures of the bride & groom (salvadoran, thai, new orleans, baltimore). Just two days after our wedding day I am feeling so good about the decision we made in booking Top of the City Catering. Maribel and her team were absolutely fantastic and we received soooo many compliments on our food, desserts, and cocktails, which were all provided by Top of the City. They had also done a great job of setting up décor for the guest tables, around the venue, and for the buffet and bar areas. In addition, the service throughout the day and night was phenomenal and we (bride & groom) always felt taken care of. For planning, we wanted a rustic, elegant feeling and they did a great job of presenting us ideas that were aligned with our vision. Top of the City Catering is a smaller catering business, but that does not make it any less in quality. When we were first looking into Top of the City I was a little leery because it was much more affordable and it usually is said, "You get what you pay for," but in this case that was NOT true at all. Maribel and her team are very responsive in communication, are very open and welcoming to your ideas and direction, and will always give suggestions from their expertise but still respect your wishes should you want something different. I really hope that Top of the City will gain momentum in growing its business and gaining the respect it deserves. Don't let the size of the company distract you from the amazing service, quality of food, flexibility, and affordable price you will get from Top of the City catering. Get a consultation with them and see for yourself!

After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.

By some divine intervention, my husband and I stumbled upon Denean's Party By Design at a time when we were having a number of problems with our venue. Denean and her team were truly God-sends! Denean is thorough, detail-oriented, understanding, and so kind. She was so pleasant to deal with throughout the process. My husband and I had an inter-faith (Jewish and Catholic wedding) - Denean took the time to learn all the traditions and customs to make sure everyone's customs were honored. Denean also went above and beyond to ensure that our venue accommodated an entirely gluten free wedding. Any request that I made - no matter how obscure or small - Denean exceeded. On the day of the wedding, Denean and her team kept everyone on track, calm, and organized. Denean set up the venue beautifully, taking care of every last detail down to the placecards and photo arrangements. Additionally, she made sure we had zero issues with the food. The day ran so smoothly. My husband and I had to do nothing but enjoy the day. Hiring Denean and her team was the best decision we made, period!

Mary did an amazing job as the day-of-coordinator for our wedding. We decided to hire one at the last minute, and I'm so glad we chose Mary. She went above and beyond to make sure everything happened the way we envisioned it (she even insisted on putting together bathroom baskets for the guests, bringing glow sticks for our exit, and lending us her own personal coolers for the bar). She's also really fun to be around, and it's evident that she loves what she does. Thank you!

Tiffany did an excellent job in helping with our event. We were having a dinner with immediate family to celebrate our wedding, and Tiffany set the table for the dinner, set up the cocktail hour, and picked up and served the food and drinks for dinner. One particularly tricky part of our dinner was that, despite it being a small group (11 people total), there were many different dietary restrictions (and difficult directions for all those different restrictions!), but Tiffany got everything exactly right and did a fantastic job making sure it all went smoothly. She was also incredibly quick to respond over email and extremely accommodating. I would highly recommend Tiffany and Party Helpers for any event!

Working with Erin was the absolute best decision My Husband and I made when planning our wedding. She listened to everything that we wanted and made our dream wedding come true. Her team was professional and made themselves available throughout the entire planning process. Even on our wedding day they made the events elegant and smooth without any hiccups. Erin has an amazing eye for what she does and I am so thankful that I met her! We started planning our June wedding in January and she was AMAZING!!!!!!!! I was a full time student and worked full time and I didn't have to stress over a wedding because she was so involved and ensured that this process was not a stressful one. I will go to Erin for any and all of my events she definitely has a customer for life!

READ THIS IF YOU WANT EVERY WONDERFUL DETAIL!!!!!!!! I first got engaged in April of 2017 and am a physician in Virginia. My fiance and I were looking for a wedding planner who would be able to put together a wedding reception that looked like an outdoors starry night...but INSIDE a ballroom. I had heard of Mitch via a family friend and through some research....when he came to visit my mother and I for the first time, we were incredibly relieved. Before we had even officially hired him, he already went to work! On the FIRST day he met us, he already brought in ideas, venues, prices, and significantly reduced rates on everything he presented because of his extensive relationship with his vendors (he has been doing this for a very long time and I swear he knows everyone)! The take home point about Mitch is simple.....he will give you UNBELIEVABLE results at a price that you could not imaging possible. His artistic abilities are unmatched...he designed a candle lit forest for me INSIDE a boring ballroom and even changed the ceiling of the ballroom into a beautifully lit piece of art (circus ceiling style with crystal chandeliers levitating to the flowers on each table with floating orbs of candle lights). I come from a large Egyptian family and Mitch is very experienced in hiring specific vendors for YOUR specific wedding needs. Again, he is EXPERIENCED and is not new to the process. There are thousands of times where Mitch would handle situations and prevent stress from even coming to my mother and I. I CAN ACTUALLY SAY THAT I HAD A COMPLETELY STRESS FREE WEDDING AND REHEARSAL DINNER!!!!!!!!! And as for the wedding....everything went as planned EXACTLY...not one thing went wrong even though the old saying goes that you should prepare yourself for something....well....we actually had a perfect wedding. Mitch even surprised me with a firework entrance for my husband and I....this is how Mitch is...he is among the most kind and LOYAL people I know. If you want a wedding planner who will literally take away your stress and create a wedding above what you could ever imagine, Mitch is the one!!!! <3

Denise and Michelle were truly a blessing! They came in as my month of coordinators and design team. Once they started working with me all of the stress I was feeling immediately went away. I was able to trust Denise with everything and never had to second guess her decisions. She did an amazing job with keeping my wedding schedule on track. I got sooooo many compliments about how organized everything was--Denise is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend her for your big day. Michelle came up with a beautiful centerpiece and other designs that made the venue absolutely beautiful. Every little detail was perfect! Thank you so much for everything you did to make our wedding day so special!

Fairy Godmother Events is a godsend! Kadzo is highly professional and worked within my budget to plan the decorations and lighting for my "rustic-chic" barn wedding next April. Thanks to Kadzo's dedication, she was able to custom-build a decoration package that incorporated some of my own DIY elements, fit my tight budget, and offered day of wedding coordination and decorating services. Other event planning services just flat out told me that it was impossible to fit the budget that I had set aside, but FGE did what nobody else could. FGE truly goes above and beyond for their clients!

I hired Gloria with my husband as our Coordinator for the day of our wedding (July 2016). Gloria stayed in constant communication with us about personal items that she owns that she could use. She loves her job. and She even made a trip out to our home to meet us in person! she did a wonderful job helping my family and friends with the decorations. Sara did an amazing job doing makeup for me and my bridesmaid on the day of my wedding. (2.16.2017) She met us at the venue (we were able to get ready on site) on time, and worked carefully but yet at a great pace; she did all seven of us (plus a mother who wanted a small touch up) in about 3 hours and 30-45 mins. She brings good treats with her for the party to munch on while getting ready and music, so we were able to have fun despite the hustle and bustle going on to decorate and get the venue ready! She also uses completely natural makeup, so anyone can have their face done. My sister is very sensitive and has reactions to a lot of mainstream products, but she was fine after Sara did her makeup and the rest of the day! Our professional pictures are not in yet but I have a few here from one of my bridesmaids that give a good look at some of our faces. My friends are already very beautiful women but Sara transformed them into glamour models! I would highly recommend her! Thank you again Sara for your service :)

Amanda and Remembered Events planned my April 22 wedding. She was just perfect for what we needed. I didn't want to stress or do anything the week of my wedding.
