A friend recommended Glenn to me for dog sitting my 2 Siberian Huskies while on vacation. Glenn has a wonderful way of working with animals and his agreement covers every aspect of taking good care of your 4-legged friends. I had a worry-free week and was comfortable about leaving my pets in his capable hands. I highly recommend his service!

I knew my dog, Penny, would be in great hands while I was away. Trent and Allison are true animal lovers and go above and beyond to make sure any animal in their care is well loved. My dog is typically nervous around new people, but warmed up to Trent and Allison quickly. In the picture updates I received, I knew Penny was able to overcome her anxiety, enjoy their company, and have a good time. Paw 2 Paw Pet Sitting is top-notch and I would highly recommend their services.

Cassie loved our pups as much as we do! We loved having her come by and take care of the pups and felt that she really gave them great treatment. So sad that we moved and can no longer have her take care of our pups.

Animals are my passion and I do all I can to provide plenty of love and attention to each and every pet I care for as if they were my own pets. When I take on a pet sit job I always leave the home the way I found it so my clients not only come home to happy pets but a home that is as neat and organized as it was before they left. Many of my clients often tell me I go above and beyond what I asked to do.

I am an avid animal lover and have been house-sitting and taking care of animals for the last 4 years. I am willing to travel up to 40 miles for house-sitting, animal sitting and watching needs and will also do any kind of housework or help with people moving or just rearranging your garage. Any kind of work, I will do it.

I am a certified veterinary assistant who absolutely adores animals. I have decades of experience and love taking care of family pets.

I could say a lot of things but why try to be better than someone else? For money? I think you have to have a gut feeling that you know, she/he is the right person for the job.

I am thorough, detail oriented, and extremely focused. I can clean, house sit, and run errands. Other odd jobs are no problem.

I just love animals so much and being around them always brightens my day.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is house sitting?

A house sitter watches your house while you are away for work or vacation, or if you have to be away for an extended period. House sitters can also provide pet-sitting services, staying in your home and caring for your pet while you are away. The house sitter can say overnight in your home while you’re gone, or stop by once a day to ensure everything is in order if your pet doesn’t need overnight supervision. Reptiles and most cats are just fine with daily visits and feeding.

House sitting provides major advantages to the homeowner. A regular presence in your house deters break-ins and theft. Home safety issues such as water leaks get noticed and dealt with right away, so you don’t come home to big problems. A house sitter can bring in your mail daily, care for your houseplants, and provide home safety and peace of mind.

How do I find a reliable house sitter?

House sitting can help keep your home safe and well cared for so you can be worry-free while you’re away for work or play. There are several steps you can take to make sure you hire a trustworthy house sitter and do your part to be a responsible host. One of the best ways to ensure a safe home is to hire a professional house sitter. Here are some key points to look for when hiring a house sitter:

  • Reviews and referrals: When searching for a house sitter, always read reviews. Previous experiences will indicate how the house sitter will care for your home while you’re away.
  • Contract: Sign a clearly written contract outlining services to be provided (e.g., mail in each day by 5 p.m.), the daily rate you are paying, and how long the services will be provided. You can also include any agreed-upon house rules in the written contract.
  • Your part: Leave important phone numbers (vet, emergency contact, etc.) and information on where to find emergency items like the circuit breaker and the fire extinguisher, and have a credit card on file with the veterinarian in case of emergencies if the house sitter is watching your pets.
