Jessee S. says, "I hired this professional to shorten and modify the cabinets above my stove so a Bosch 500 over-the-range microwave could later be installed. The scope was clearly discussed in writing, including that his responsibility was the cabinetry modification, not installation of the microwave. Unfortunately, I am very dissatisfied with the completed work. The cabinets were left largely inaccessible and unusable, with rough, unfinished framing underneath, and the area now requires professional corrective work before the appliance can be installed. He also did not arrive with enough materials to complete the project. I was particularly concerned about a safety incident during the work. While working above the stove, the gas stove was accidentally activated. The heat melted the protective tarp I supplied, and accumulated gas later resulted in a small flash event. Fortunately, no one was injured. I also want to clarify why an earlier five-star review may appear on this project. Before leaving my home, the contractor was very insistent that I close out the project and complete the review while he was still there. I felt uncomfortable and pressured by the situation and submitted a five-star review that did not accurately reflect my experience. After I had time to inspect the work carefully and assess what had been done, the extent of my concerns became clear. I paid $1,129.75 for the work and am now pursuing resolution through Thumbtack. Based on the workmanship, the safety incident, and my overall experience with the project, I cannot recommend this contractor for cabinetry work."See more
