Thumbtack emailed a quote within 1 hour of my request. Jarrod, of Good Hands Dependable Services provided his phone number with his bid; I called to arrange a date for the couch and woodscraps to be hauled. He suggested immediately (it was already O-dark:30), and he arrived within 10 minutes of his forecast. He is a responsive and literate communicator, fair priced, timely and efficient; not to overlook clean-cut, proper work clothes, and appropriatelly equipped vehicle. I do not know how Thumbtack is vetting contractors but this is my third good experience, keep doing it.
Nolan gave us a very reasonable quote for mounting a 65" TV over our fireplace. He even brought along a mount which he showed us was far superior to the somewhat flimsy one we had purchased at Sams and will be returning tomorrow. He showed us the mount's price on Best Buy's website and charged us the same amount. Due to the chimney area, and/or some other construction aspect of our 1980's era condo , it was not a straight forward job. I'm so glad I didn't try to do this myself. Overcoming the obstacle, Nolan spent extra time making sure the mount was solidly attached and that the TV was perfectly level. He had even brought along and installed a cordmate kit (which he sold to us at his cost) to conceal the wires running to our various devices. I was pleasantly surprised that he stuck with his original quote for labor which Im sure was based on considerably less time than he actually spent on our project. Thank you Nolan! We even talked about hiring him for a couple future projects.
My recommendation for Corey is unconditional. He began his first project with us in March of this year when when a friend recommended that he would be good help since I needed to get everything off of two decks in preparation for resurfacing. There were big old terracotta pots full of hard packed soil and the upper deck was up 3 stories. Corey figured out how to do this efficiently and kept up a brisk pace. Once the decks were finished he carried the new pots and all of the soil and new plants back up. Corey was careful to check in with me on coordination so that he could be back as soon as the deck was ready. Our next project was cleaning out the side yard including an old fence, construction debris from the project next door and overgrown plantings and material to go to hazardous waste dump. Corey was quick and organized, set up a system for sorting and brought a helper and huge truck to dispose of the stuff. Over the years I have tried to clean up this area but the project seemed overwhelming and no one knew how to attack it. Our house on Queen Anne Hill is 100 years old and there is always something that needs to be done. Corey has a key and I keep a list so he stops by when needed and takes care of things. A special recommendation for Corey is that my dog loves him and she is a very good judge of character.
I hired Sam to tear down and dispose of a structure on our property, and to dispose of a few cubic yards of yard waste. Sam is perhaps the BEST communicator I have ever met in a sub-contractor. I found him to be punctual, easy to work with, honest, and fairly priced. He did a good job, and did it exactly when he said he would. Reliable, honest, and reasonable is five stars, in my book.
Axel is a good young contractor that owned up to his reputation. On a personal level he was courteous and kind. Like all contractors, he gets busy and getting to the job on time is challenging, but he came through in the end. Thanks Axel!
Evelia replied promptly to my request for a home cleaning. I am a contractor and needed a home I was working on detail cleaned before it went up for sale. Evelia was very flexible with scheduling and showed up right on time. She completed the work extremely fast and did a very good job. I will definitely be calling her for any future cleaning needs! -Zach
We have used several Pro.com contractors as we prepare our home for sale. Triple Power addressed some dry-rot in cedar siding and an interior closet floor and subfloor. They were professional and the finish in both cases exceeded our expectations.
I highly recommend Anthony and his team! We needed a very last minute floor installation and they really went the extra mile on our project. Anthony came out to give an estimate where he let us know all the costs up front and the estimated time. While ripping up some of the old floor they found an ant infestation. Not only did they inform us right away, they took care of the issue and guided us on next steps. They did all of this without any extra charge. They took a lot of time to answer all of my questions and did exceptional work! I will definitely be hiring Anthony for future projects!
The owner did a great job installing our wood floors and our back splash! He was very professional and even willing to go the extra mile on some detailed work. It's so hard to find a quality contractor who values the customer's satisfaction like Igor. I highly recommend!!
Robert & Julie, I cant express my gratitude enough to both of you for the excellent work you did for my mother! I was lucky to have found you through Thumbtack. You responded to my request within a couple hours and met me and my mother the very next day. You walked in to an awful situation a total mess, due to a bad, inexcusable, sloppy delivery job from Sears. Their laziness caused severe water damage from the new refrigerator my mother purchased, as they did not put on the new water hose (which my mother paid for) and left the old one on, which split open and caused a leak. My mother (who is 71 years old) and I were getting nowhere with Sears. They didnt want to take responsibility. We didnt know how to proceed. You went way above and beyond your job as a contractor. You told us about the laws in Washington State and that Sears and their delivery contractors are 100% liable. You said you would make all the calls and that she wouldnt have to pay a dime. You called all the right people (which took hours and hours of your time) and got the ball rolling! You were able to get her home owners insurance to step in right away and pay for the damages upfront so you could begin working right away, so that my mom could use her kitchen, hallway, and bedroom again. You were able to get her home owners insurance to go after Sears/delivery Contractor Company! You also did many, many other things for us. You noticed little things here and there that needed to be fixed in her house and didnt charge her for fixing them. Nobody else would do this. One of the many things you did that goes way above and beyond is that you saw what a hassle it was for mom to get in and out of her house, due to the doors and screen doors having 3 separate keys!!! Juliethank you for going and making her one key that fits all of the doors!! You also dealt with Home Depot for us, for damaged doors they put in and the damage they caused installing them. You again made all the calls (which took hours of phone time again) and were able to get the store manager and supervisor out to moms house. You got her half her money back and got the OK to fix it properly and repair the damage! You certainly didnt have to do this. But I know you did it because you heard what a nightmare it had caused my mother and that they were not being fair to her. Thank you for the fantastic work you did fixing my mothers house, Robert! Thank you, Julie, for all of your help, sitting with my mom and being her friend, and helping out Robert every step of the way. You both are very compassionate, honest, hard-working, and all-around awesome! You took the stress off my mom by taking care of everything. EVERYTHING!! As you know, this is just a short summary of what you did for us. We know that you are way more than a contractor. You both are beautiful people with big hearts. Ill be forever grateful to you. Larry was on time and did the good job with repair.
I did hire these contractors and they did a great job for me. Had a bathroom up dated and they came in very professional, things were done in a timely matter. This is a father and son team that knows the business. I will be having future work to be done and hope these folks will do it for me. This team is my new go to place to call when I have projects. Thanks again guys you were great
Dennis' work is impeccable. We had him frame and drywall a space in our kitchen for a built-in fridge. His measurements were perfect down to the millimeter. His quote was reasonable, he came on time and cleaned up after each day. He took significantly longer to complete the job than he had anticipated, but that is also because he took the time to do it correctly. I would hire him to complete more work in my home in the future.
The job was a earthquake retrofit. I had spent six months on the wait list with another earthquake retrofit company, only to be dropped four weeks before they were supposed to start the work, so I was in a huge panic, because I had a larger scope project of an entire basement remodel scheduled to start as soon as the retrofit was done. Needless to say, I was terribly worried I wouldn't be able to find another contractor who would be able to do the work. I VERY luckily found Sound Pacific, who recognized my time crunch, and were happy to step in and take over. They were extremely competent, well organized, and got the job done in the correct amount of time, so that my basement remodel could proceed on time. The best part about working with them is they are very communicative at all times as to what is happening with the project, and were very good at asking questions as to what the customer wanted. I very much enjoyed working with them, and would gladly recommend them to anyone. If my basement contractor falls through on the job, I have already informed him I have a great team who I would be thrilled to have takeover. Thank you Derek and Michael for all your hard work. Sincerely, HG, West Seattle
happy with the work done beside he's coming late.
Pedro and his team did a wonderful job with the Inspection tasks we gave him. He was able to squeeze part of the job in to accommodate our timing, problem solved a difficult dry rot solution where several other experienced contractors couldn’t and executed the job on time, quickly, perfectly and left the site tidy. Communication is great, workmanship perfect and easy to work with! He’s on my preferred list! Thanks Pedro!
Art (TJ) was the BEST find of all the contractors we have used on Thumbtack! We had a difficult drywall project and his work was stellar, going above and beyond. Nicest guy too- very friendly and professional ...and excellent at communicating. Art met our specific scheduling needs and we were so impressed by him. Will definitely have him out again for any more drywall or construction needs. Thanks Art!
Stacey was great. He was the only one to set up a time to make an estimate on pulling out an old deck and building a new one. His estimate was fair, and he got the job done when he said he was going to. I couldn't ask for anything more and would happily hire 12 Hawk Contracting again.
Great contractor to work with He is really knows all the tricks on his trade.when we started our 70 years old house remodeling there was so many uncertainties the structures where shifted.after the project was completed we were overall very happy. I would hire him any time .
These guys have the highest standards out of any contractors I’ve worked with before and what sets them apart from the rest is the trustworthiness. Very responsive, maintains a high quality of workmanship, along with great timing put them a mile ahead of the compitition. Highly recommended!
Mr Liess did a project for me and proved himself to be effective, efficient, and honest. Basically, all the things you hope for when selecting a contractor. I will definitely keep his phone number for future projects.
