Manjari was my 7th grade son's tutor in math for the last semester of this school year. She was absolutely fantastic! Very professional but also able to relate to my son and make him feel comfortable. She really helped him understand some of the concepts that he was struggling with. His grade went up from C to B+, but more importantly, his confidence in his math abilities also grew. We plan to continue with her tutoring this next school year if she can. Thanks Manjari! :)
He is very comfortable to work with, he is very helpful in person and both over the phone. He helped me greatly in my class and increased my grade through his tutoring.I will continue to use his tutoring in future math classes.
Will has been tutoring my son in math for two months now and what a positive experience it's been for both my son and myself! My son has struggled for years with math concepts and memorizing. Not only does Will have excellent math knowledge, but also an understanding that every child has a different learning style. He honestly cares about my son, a definete change from large companies!
Best math and English tutors we've ever come across.
Alyssa was kind and understanding helping my daughter who was anxious about math.
Grant is helping my daughter with SAT tutoring. So far, so good. He has gotten her more engaged in studying for the SAT. He has an excellent grasp on all aspects of the material (math, reading, writing and essay) and strategies, and he has been able to convey the information effectively.
I strongly recommend Theo if someone is looking for a math tutor. Theo tutored my daughter during the summer. She failed Algebra and had to take the class in the summer. Theo was able to explain the concepts and teach my daughter how to solve the Algebra problems. After just 2 tutoring sessions my daughter had a better understanding of the Algebra concepts. My daughter received an 87 as her grade for Algebra 1. I strongly recommend Theo without any reservations. Theo is patient and it's a bittersweet departure hoping Theo returns back to DC.
My daughter has always struggled with writing (she finds it tedious, and, as a result, difficult). When I hired Tom as her writing tutor, my hope was that he would help her make it through a particularly writing-heavy academic year. Tom not only allowed my daughter to meet this goal, but took my daughter so far beyond it that I still have a hard time believing it. Originally, I chose him because he looks good on paper: he is a published author, has an MFA from Columbia University, and years of teaching experience. It only took a handful of sessions to see the other qualities that make him so unique. He is not only committed to seeing his students do well (in the traditional sense), but, more importantly, he is committed to cultivating students' investment in, and appreciation for, the written word. My daughter has been empowered, and she has begun to see writing as a craft, as something pleasurable, and as something that will be imperative in all future life arenas. She has, in other words, come to see writing as her favorite subject. And, she sees Tom as one of the more significant influences on her intellectual life. The magic he works goes beyond writing, only. Because of my daughter's devotion to Tom as a teacher, we also hired him to help her with geometry. Although most tutors are able to do *either* math and science, *or* the more humanistic disciplines, it would appear that this is not the case with Tom. In fact, I can't think of a subject in which he would *not* be an effective tutor! It probably goes without saying at this point: our family recommends Tom very, very highly.
He was extremely polite, available and connected with my daughter. Truly loves math and is eager to accommodate!
