Barbara F. says, "I am very happy with Kanaskat Tree Service. My Empress Tree has become huge and the lower branches were hanging low over driveways and mailboxes. This was a job I could not do myself. Mindy and Dave had good advice on how to proceed and maintain a good shape for the tree. The bid was competitive with other tree services, so I accepted. I asked about some other projects. Mindy and Dave were very flexible and gave me some ideas I hadn't thought about. We agreed on what to add to the contract and the price. They were able to come out the same week. They really went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the work. In addition they asked if I would like them to trim trees and shrubs growing over the sidewalk - a nice bonus! Mindy and Dave cleaned up all debris. They were courteous and professional throughout the project."See more

5426BDSW NG says, "We hired Cyclops Masonry last year for chimney repair and were pleased with the results. We then hired them earlier this year for work on brick planters and were similarly pleased with results. When we needed to begin a larger project of replacing and regrading pavers on a patio, we hired them again. The project involved replacing basic 2 concrete pavers in a simple running bond with 3/4 porcelain pavers in a very precise (and oftendicult) Ashlar pattern. The crew also rebuilt a brick divider at grade to be square with property lines and matching final paver grade, all non-visible under final sod. Finally, they installed new sub-grade for sod and new sod. The results were a beautiful enhancement of the overall landscape. The owner and crew paid close attention to detail in paver placement and overall alignment. The crew was very timely, respected noise controlrequests of neighbors, and worked very well together. They were a pleasure to have on site. The Cyclops owner was regularly present to check work and assist the crew, and also provided daily updates on progress and any questions to be addressed. We were extremely pleased with their work and highly recommend them."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

The best way to find and hire the best landscaper in Seattle is by performing an online search. This allows you to easily view ratings, photos and customer reviews for landscapers in the Seattle area.

Read the customer reviews, and look for details about the landscapers’ pricing, professionalism, communication and efficiency. It also helps to look at customer photos. Whether you’re thinking about adding sod, hardscapes, a rain garden, a patio, native plants and other landscaping features, see if past customers have these landscapers to complete projects you want for your backyard or front yard.

Next, find out if the landscapers you’re considering have any credentials. For example, some industry organizations and associations provide professional certificates to landscapers who study and pass certain tests to become certified. If you’re specifically looking to hire a “landscape architect,” check to see if they’re licensed through the Washington State Department of Licensing.

And finally, select your pro after receiving estimates or quotes from several landscapers in the Seattle area.

The cost of landscaping can vary widely based on the type of plants you wish to have, the amount of grading required, the condition of the land before work begins, and other factors. Adding in designer or high-end landscaping, as well as hardscaping such as sidewalks, walls, or patios will add to the cost. To find out how much your landscaping will cost, contact landscapers near you.

A landscaper is worth it if you don't want to invest a significant amount of time and effort into planting, trimming, raking, weeding and performing other operations on your garden or yard. Hiring a landscaper to perform regular maintenance in your yards and complete bigger projects is valuable if you’re looking to sell your house. A professional landscaper can make your house more appealing to potential buyers.

Some landscapers may perform maintenance duties — remove leaves, mow lawns, trim trees and shrubs, etc. —  but they can also help you bring bigger projects to life. This may include adding a misting system, an outdoor fireplace, water features, artificial turf, a patio and much more.

Start contacting landscapers near you to get free estimates and start planning your project today.

The price of landscaping varies widely due to the range of choices that can be made, but you can expect to pay anywhere from $320 and $20,000 for your landscaping work. The national average cost for a landscaping project is $2,600.

Factors like the choice of plants, the amount and type of hardscaping, the square footage of your landscaped area, and the region you live in will have a significant effect on your landscaping cost.

The average cost of fence repairs is around $250, with most homeowners paying anywhere between $200 and $300. Fence repairs have a wide range of potential costs, however, ranging from $50 to as much as $1,443. The cost of your fence repair project depends on multiple factors, including where you live, what type of repair you need, the terrain and the fence materials used.

You can shop for landscaping rocks from a variety of different sources. The first option is large chain retail stores specializing in home improvement and gardening. Often, landscaping rocks like slate and other slabs arrive on pallets and are sold in bulk, giving you a great deal. Your local landscaping store also carries rocks, and you may even have a stone or quarry seller nearby who can sell you the rocks you need. When in doubt, contact landscaping companies near you to see if they have rocks you can purchase.

Landscaping is the intentional placement and maintenance of living plants on an area of land or in your yard. This can include trees, lawn, flowers, bushes and other plant life and often incorporates mulch and other organic matter. The primary purpose of landscaping is to provide beauty to the house or building it surrounds.

Many landscaping companies also offer design, architecture and construction services. For example, they can help you design a yard that incorporates a patio, deck, pool, fire pit, lighting, walkways, retaining walls and more.

A gate can sag for a number of reasons. One common reason is that the screws holding the hinges in the wood or other post material have come loose, causing gravity to pull the fence down. Another common problem is the gate post’s lack of stability. Posts can become loose and start to lean, or if they are wooden, they can even rot at the point where they meet the ground.

Fence repair is better for common problems that only affect small areas, such as a broken picket or a shifting fence post. However, there is a rule of thumb to follow: If the repair project requires replacing 20% or more of your fence, it’s probably time to replace the whole fence. The exception to this rule is if the fence is fairly new and just part of it is damaged.

Landscaping your property can boost the value of your home between 5% and 15%, according to Better Homes & Gardens. They specify that this is the amount of value added when you upgrade the condition of your landscaping from poor to good, though these terms are subjective.
