Cornelius and Mario were AMAZING!! We would have given them 10 Stars, if we could have! In addition to being quick, efficient, and organized (great teamwork), they were so kind. Cornelius set our TV back up after they moved it downstairs. They prioritize customer service and in such an authentic way; it’s clear they really like people, and, in turn, are very likable. We also enjoyed hearing them have fun beteeen themselves. We will be hiring them again in a week to return the furniture to the house. Thanks so much, Cornelius and Mario, for such a positive experience. Sidney and Don

As Membership Director of the Seattle NAPO group of Professional Organizers, I have to wear many hats. Lauren is essential to my ability to manage those many functions. She volunteers at every event and takes charge whenever possible, unburdening the rest of the Board. She is essential to our group.

Andreana was wonderful to work with. In just a few short interactions I felt she had a sense of the style I wanted to achieve. I hired her for an in-home closet consultation. I needed help identifying what items were missing from my wardrobe and I also had a pile of things I just didn't know how to wear. Andreana helped me with both these things and I look forward to calling on her whenever I need styling advice in the future

Carolyne was truly a pleasure to have as a stylist. Her sense of style, her suggestions and her openness significantly improved my wardrobe. She always had fresh ideas of things I could try and made sure that anything suggested was flattering to my body type. She also helped me with gifts for friends, outfits for my mother and updated my shoe/accessory collection. I highly recommend working with her!

After a brief meeting in which we discussed what I was looking for she took a look at my jewelry and closet to get a sense of my "style" and then we did a shopping run. I HATE shopping, particularly for clothes. She made it so easy and enjoyable! I tried on things that I would never have considered, and they really worked. I felt comfortable. She set up snacks and water. Had a ton of clothes there to try initially. I'll do another session in the spring, since this winter session was so successful. I overhauled my professional wardrobe, and I've never gotten so many compliments.

They staged 3 apartments for us and did a fantastic job. They had small spaces to work with and made them look great. Lulu and Mike are the best. Don't hesitate to hire them for your staging needs.

(As a side note for the photos, Nealah offered to also put dishes away and I declined so I could instead pack them for an upcoming move which is why they are still on the counter!) This was my first experience in hiring a professional for help cleaning. Honestly I was terrified of having to call a cleaner to help me get my kitchen under control, but Nealah made the process incredibly simple and quickly extinguished my embarrassment. After a short phone call with her I was at ease with having asked for help and was confident in hiring her for the task. Nealah was absolutely fantastic, friendly and very kind in addition to being great at her job. Not only did she clean a ridiculous amount of piled up dishes, she also did an amazing job of cleaning the rest of my kitchen despite some silly conditions like a blown kitchen light, and two insane small children plus a giant dog running around as she cleaned. She even offered to give me tips on cleaning some tough spots on a glass top stove, and to come back to finish up any spots she missed if there were any (there were not!) I am so thankful to have had her in my home, she relieved a giant stress by coming to help out our family. I have even invited her to come back and help with the house cleaning after we move out of our rental. I highly recommend hiring her and her crew to help with any cleaning needs you may have, Deepest Cleaning will not disappoint you - they will do everything they can to ensure you are fully satisfied with their work at an incredibly fair price.

Finding this type of service was a life saver and worth every penny. My project was so large and overwhelming (combining two household into one) for me to tackle alone. And I didn't have the time to do it all. Alysse was very helpful and was able to organize everything and had great ideas and information to help me make the hard choices of what I wanted to keep and what to purge. No regrets! So happy and less stressed, thank you Alysse. I'll be calling her to organize my office at work next.

Ms. Shea assisted in my wardrobe selection and make-up. We discussed the type of shoot I wanted including the image I wanted to portray. I was immediately put at ease. The end result was a set of photos that were exactly what I'd wanted. Her fees are competitive and the results are worth every penny.

Tess came over and helped me with my closet, literally holding up item by item and got rid of a ton of stuff that I haven't worn in years (or ever) but for some reason had a hard time letting go of by myself. She wasn't judgy or rude about clothes or shoes that I had that were (ugly) maybe dated, just explained why I didn't need them and then it was easy to toss. After we had gotten rid of all the excess she went through and organzied it (based on what I would find useful - not her just telling me what to do) Shirt styles and then colors within the styles etc. It's probably been two months and I have since maintained the organization because it feels so good and just makes sense!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I find a personal stylist?

To find a fashion consultant, start by browsing portfolios online. Styling is a visual art, so finding a fashion consultant who fits the style you desire is key. Great personal stylists aren’t confined to one style, but if you’re seeking a hipper, fashion-forward vibe, you’d do well to find someone with a modern portfolio, while a fashion consultant with a consistently refined style could be a better fit if you’d prefer a more conservative look. Reading reviews is also helpful for learning more about the fashion consultant. Research their training, background and years of experience. After reviewing websites and Instagram accounts, meet with the stylist in person to learn how well they fit your personality; some fashion consultants offer a free phone consultation prior to hiring. Before hiring, make sure you clearly understand their terms of service and payment.

What do image consultants do?

Image consultants help people look and feel their best by coaching them on their clothing and beauty choices. An image consultant can be hired for a one-time occasion, such as an awards ceremony, big birthday party or photo shoot. The consultant will recommend clothing, hair and makeup to suit the occasion either using either what the client owns or taking a targeted shopping trip. For a complete fashion consultation, the image consultant will assess your wardrobe, your lifestyle, and what you hope to present to the world, and will then determine the best colors, styles and cuts for you. You can get help streamlining your professional appearance, adjusting your style after a change in body size, solidifying a new look, or finding clothing to fit one area of your life like work or weekends. Image consultants also provide closet edits, going through your clothing and paring out what isn’t right for the look you’re trying to achieve. Personal shopping is another service that image consultants provide. After an image assessment, they can either shop with you or shop on your behalf to find you key pieces you need.

What is a fashion consultant?

A fashion consultant is a paid professional who will advise you on what to wear and how to wear it to fit your desired lifestyle or career goals. A fashion consultant can provide many services including personal shopping, closet audits, beauty consultations, style consultations and ongoing seasonal services. A fashion consultant often has a design or fashion background (although this is not required) and an innate sense of style. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut with the colors, cuts and designs we think suit us. A fashion consultant comes in with fresh eyes and provides constructive feedback to guide your style choices.

During your initial meeting, your fashion consultant will take stock of your current clothing selection and learn what you hope to achieve. They’ll identify core wardrobe pieces you need, as well as advise you how to wear items together. Many consultants create style lookbooks for their clients explaining things like exactly which shoes to wear with what pants and how to accessorize each look. Fashion consultants are a great option for people who are updating their style due to age, career changes or body changes, or who are just ready for a new look and feel. Most fashion consultants charge by the hour, with some offering packages and others working from a retainer.

What is a personal shopper?

Personal shoppers take the pain out of having good fashion. Personal shoppers are paid professionals who work with women, men or children who need style assistance. If you are stuck in a fashion rut, are unsure how to dress in a way that flatters your body, need to revamp your image, or want a more professional career look, personal shoppers can help. Personal shoppers identify the look their client wants to achieve and purchase the necessary clothing and accessories to achieve it. The process often begins with an initial consultation with the client to understand their style goals. This consultation may include a closet “audit,” an assessment of the client’s current wardrobe to see what items can be eliminated and what must be purchased to achieve the desired style.

The client and the personal shopper can shop together, selecting items as a team. The personal shopper may also shop on behalf of the client, then bring all items to the client for a final decision. A third option is pre-shopping, where the personal shopper reaches the store(s) ahead of the client and sets aside clothing for the client to try on, expediting the whole process — a win for anyone who hates spending time in the mall. Personal shoppers can also be hired for one-time events such as weddings, vacations or birthdays. You can also enlist a personal shopper to do your gift shopping for you. Overall, a personal shopper is an investment in making good style choices.
