I used Emerald City Cakes & Chocolates for a corporate luncheon. I selected this company via thumbtack and choose them after reading the reviews. We needed a "buffet style" delivery for 35 people. Paul and Stephanie were both very accommodating and responsive to our specific needs. We work in a secure area so had to meet them in the parking lot to pick up the food and it needed to be ready to serve from car to table. Everyone really enjoyed the food. I would recommend this company for future events. The cost was a bit higher than some of the vendors in the area; however, the reviews I read made the difference in my choice. I was able to pay them in cash to avoid the credit card fees and it was really a good-easy experience. Minimal stress for hosting a luncheon for 35 people. We will use them again. Our menu was a traditional turkey buffet (early Thanksgiving celebration) with mashed potatoes, yam, vegetables, stuffing, salad, and dinner rolls.
We hired KT's team for a private party for 30 adults and 12 kids. Jessica and Chris (our bartenders) were absolutely fantastic. Both created mean cocktails. Jessica played an integral role in keeping kids at bay, ensured that we didn't have sticky paws running around the home, and pretty much managed their meal service. Both were diligent in ensuring glasses were cleaned, plates were cleared, and made my life so easy that I actually enjoyed our gathering. Would absolutely recommend KT's and will definitely hire them for our next event. Thanks team KT!
Chantel and her team did an outstanding job of catering our event. The food was delicious (cooked to perfection and nice and hot with many choices), the service was great (the ladies were all warm and friendly) and the set-up and clean-up was flawless. I received many compliments from guests regarding the food. They will most certainly be my caterers of choice the next time the need arises and I would highly recommend them!
200 people, middle of the day, bbq catering. I think the food was outstanding and there was plenty of it. Al was a pleasure to work with, arrived timely and was professional. I was asked repeatedly where I got the bbq from because it was "Darn tasty." We will certainly have you on our list of approved caterers!

Nola and her staff did such a fantastic job catering our wedding. From helping us plan to menu, providing a delicious tasting, answering questions about logistics and dietary restrictions, and providing stellar food and customer service to the day of the wedding, Nola and her team went above and beyond to make our day special. Our main entrée was fig balsamic glazed wild BBQ salmon with mango kiwi salsa. I wish I could make something this delicious myself, because it was amazing. Our salad consisted of organic mixed greens with julienned apple, shaved fennel, herbed crouton, and a really light but creamy bleu cheese dressing. They even made a separate salad with a different dressing for our dairy-free guests. The guest (and groom’s) favorite was our side: Beecher’s mac and cheese. So good! It was very stormy the day of our wedding, and a lot of things went wrong for us. Nola and her team went beyond the call of duty and helped out where they shouldn’t have needed to. They kept an incredibly positive attitude the entire time, conversed with guests, and helped reassure an incredibly stressed-out bride. The only complaint I heard from any guests was the portion-control at the buffet, but with a buffet we personally feel that was probably necessary. I had been concerned that people would take more than their fair share and leave guests at the end of the line with no food, and I’m sure that was the whole reason for starting out with smaller portions. I also heard that guests were invited to come back for seconds once everybody had been served, so I’m sure everyone got enough food. Overall, we were more than satisfied with Nola, her team, and the food. The food was everything we had hoped for, and the service was outstanding. We recommend them to anybody planning a wedding or other event.
We had Stephen cater our wedding on 8/29. It was by far the most painless process ever. From the get go, Stephen was a breeze to work with and removed all the stress from dealing with feeding 100 wedding guests. His price was very fair especially given the amazing quality of the food. Im still getting compliments on how delicious and fun the food was at our wedding! Will book Dogfather again for any future events!
Brett was professional, timely and made delicious food that was tailored to by unique palate. It was a great introduction to thumbtack and having a professional chef, with how busy I am with work. Greatly appreciated, and looking forward to continuing to utilize this in the future.
Sami came to our home to help us manage our Thanksgiving feast. She brought her daughter to help. Sami made us an amazing curry butternut squash soup that had coconut, cashews, green onions and bananas as the condiment toppings. Everyone raved. She also made us a potato parsnip mash instead of regular mashed potatoes. These were delish. Her gravy was the best I have had. Sami and her daughter stayed through to dessert and made sure that everything was sparkling clean before she left. I am rating Sami a 4 because she is still new to this business and there are always things that can be improved. Within in a short period of time I am sure she will be a 5. I would use Sami again and will recommend her to friends.
Sanja reached out to me within an hour of my request for caterers. She sent me a full proposal with menu items, cost break out, and everything I could possibly need. She worked with me for hours on end, revising the proposal 4 times to meet my needs. She was patient, kind, flexible, and so helpful! She has stayed in constant contact with me, answering every question within minutes. Although they were over my budget, because of their diverse menu, and especially her customer service, I recommended to my Market Manager that we spend the extra money. I'm so excited to entertain our clients next week and I know I won't be disappointed!
We operate Kruger Escapes, an adventure sailing charter business based in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Two years ago we established a partnership with Nichole of Island Chef Services. In preparation for each of our sailing trips, we provide Nichole with detailed food surveys from each of our guests. Nichole then works her magic, always demonstrating incredible thoughtfulness, planning, preparation and execution. From the food surveys, she prepares detailed menu plans, shops for all the food, then fully preps each meal (for up to seven days!). As a final step she provides us with detailed instructions on how to finish preparing each meal and plate it beautifully. This relationship allows us to quickly prepare and serve freshly cooked meals while underway AND maintain a gourmet food experience for our guests that is specifically catered to their tastes. On every sailing trip with Nichole's food, our guests express delight over the menu and surprise at just how much delicious food is on board the boat. Our guests' comments include statements like, "How did she know my favorite dinner?!", "This is beautiful!" or "This is our most favorite way to eat. We want to meet Nichole!" On a smaller scale, last Christmas we hired Nichole to make an apple pie for our family dinner. My dad is NOT easy to impress with pie, and apple is his favorite. It was a little heartbreaking to have to tell him I wasn't the one who baked the pie he was so happy with... and then he kept saying, "This Nichole really knows how to bake an apple pie." We love you Nichole!!

I have been a guest at several private dinner parties catered by Jen from the Salted Fig. These parties are by invitation only and promise a culinary journey you won't forget- and they deliver! Jen's menus are creative, cohesive, and absolutely delicious. The meals always feel so personal and nurturing, like she knew exactly what I wanted to eat, even though she is cooking for 20 of us. I would highly recommend The Salted Fig for any catering needs, especially if you are looking to serve up quality, excellence, and passion with every bite!
I've had the pleasure of being both a client of Edible Hue as well as dining at several events they have created dinners at. When I was a guest Edible Hue has catered to my personal dietary restrictions with the same artistic flair and deliciousness as was served on the regular menu. When I employed them they were responsive, cheerful and creative in organizing and executing a tasting menu that was specially paired with specific champagnes. I look forward to my next encounter with all of Edible Hue - Andy, Myrissa and Amara - as either a client or a guest.
We used 314 Pie for catering our wedding and we were very happy we chose them. They responded very quickly by email and phone whenever we had a question, arrived in plenty of time, and were very professional and polite serving guests. Also, they were able to serve all of our 100+ guests very quickly. The pies were very delicious, we and all of our guests were very happy. Highly recommend!
