Hi, I am a certified, highly qualified elementary school teacher in Arizona, grades K-8. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University in 2001. I began substitute teaching and tutoring privately after college, which exposed me to a wide range of teaching and learning techniques. I have experience tutoring math, reading, and writing. I also have experience tutoring students with a variety of special needs, including ADHD and other learning disabilities. It was this that pushed me to receive my Master's degree in Educational Intervention from Ottawa University. This program taught me how to adapt my teaching to students' unique needs. During this time, I began teaching at an urban charter school in Phoenix as a Saturday School instructor in reading and writing for seventh- and eighth graders. The following year, I began teaching fourth grade at the same school. This continued for two years. In my final year there, I taught in the Elementary Special Education Department. In this situation, I excelled at making adaptations and modifications to ensure that all of my students were successful. After this, I worked as a fourth-grade teacher at another school, where I used my skills to ensure success once again. I have a disability, which helps me be a better teacher and tutor. I understand many of the frustrations that parents and students may feel when dealing with social and academic struggles that may be unique to some families. My own experiences help parents and students understand how to advocate and work with school systems to ensure student success, which is why I became an educator over 10 years ago. I am proud to be a role model for students and to teach them that everyone can be whatever they wish, as long as they want it badly enough! My teaching style can best be described as adaptable. Not every student learns the same way, so before I begin tutoring someone, I want to know as much as possible about the student so that I can use what they are good at to help them overcome their weaknesses. I will use hands-on, visual, and auditory input to stimulate a student's learning. I use manipulatives for math, and I am Orton-Gillingham certified for reading and spelling. I will always put a student's unique needs above everything else. I believe that this formula ensures success for all involved!See more

Nicole P. says, "Yaeli Rockwell is absolutely amazing. I had been seeking a writing tutor for my young adult son who has Autism. Yaeli has been a Godsend. She is so kind and patient with my son. She takes the time to explain things to him in a way that he can understand. She is always prepared. Yaeli previews my son’s short stories before meeting with him. This allows her to maximize her instructional time with him. My son truly loves his sessions with Yaeli. He looks forward to having them every week. My son’s creative writing gets better with every session. Yaeli has helped my son to better organize his writing and to make it engaging to readers. As a mom, I love that she challenges and encourages my son to continually improve. She does not look at my son’s autism as limiting; instead, she met my son at his writing level, with a goal to improve his writing skills, build his confidence, and maintain his love for creative writing. Yaeli does all this at a service rate that is beyond reasonably priced. Her expert knowledge, skilled instructional strategies, and patience with my son is worth far more than what her current rate is. If you are looking for a professional to help improve your writing skills, I highly recommend Yaeli Rockwell."See more

Jamil P. says, "This is a detailed overview of our review of this company. After extensive research and exploring countless programs aimed at helping our child, I felt overwhelmed. My wife and I came across Thinkwyz Tutoring and scheduled a call with the owner, during which we asked her a lot of questions, all of which she was more than happy to answer. Afterward, my wife and I decided to move forward. I can attest that the tutor assigned to our family is incredibly patient and knowledgeable. She takes her time and addresses the specific needs of our family. She provides the skills needed for support, and the tutor works on strategies that help during the sessions, meeting the kids where they are. My children have improved by a grade level since the sessions began. Overall, I would highly recommend this service to my friends and family."See more
