Paul Sarafin has perfected the art of teaching the Suzuki method in a fun individualized way. Our son adores "Mr Sarafin" and looks forward to his lessons, group sessions and recitals. If you are lucky enough to get a teaching spot with Paul Sarafin take it.
Very efficient way to find a music teacher.
Yngvil was a musician for hire for me, playing my compositions. She was prepared, on time, and played beautifully on keyboards and whistle.
She answered promptly, sent info on working with her, set up appointment to meet and discuss what lessons would involve which went great. I am looking forward to working with her.
Alison has a professional and personalized approach with students. She encourages growth thru frequent positive comments. Singing is fun and I’ve expanded my skills greatly. She works equally well with adults and children. Both my grandson and I took lessons and we had a great time singing together outside of class for the family and others times.
I recently hired Dawn to do vocal lesson for one of my clients and she was great to work with. Very knowledge and creative with different techquies on how to teach and for the student to understand. I'm looking forward to working with Dawn again on future endeavors. Chris Waymon Gate City Management
Do you want to learn some music? Do your kids want to learn music? Do you want your kids to learn music? Those are entirely different questions from whether they want to learn, as I know very well. Whichever it is, let's see if I can help you. I began teaching part-time out of a studio sometime around 2002. Working part-time at the studio quickly became full-time, and after a couple of years, I started offering house calls. Pretty soon, I gave up the studio as everyone seemed to prefer the convenience of having me come to them. I don't mind doing it as it gives me a few minutes to relax and prepare myself for the next lesson while driving from place to place. I make house calls to most of the Anchorage Area and depending on your needs, I can offer lesson scheduling on a regular or flexible basis. Contact me to discuss specifics. So, if you'd just as soon avoid the rush-hour traffic and have the music teacher come to you, read on and see what I have to offer. About lessons with me: Music is fun and despite the fact that one is engaged in learning, lessons should be too. To that end, I teach people the basics and help them work on whatever type of music most interests them. I don't talk down to people or whack anyone's wrists with a ruler; in fact, I'm the antithesis of the stereotypical "strict old lady" neighborhood piano teacher. I'm more of a "positive encouragement" kind of guy. Don't get me wrong. I do expect and require students to practice, and in the case of kids under 13 or so, that generally means the parents have to assist in making practice a regular part of the schedule, but I set reasonable goals, which if followed, will result in steady progress. I recognize that each person learns differently, so I try to tailor lessons to the particular needs and goals of the student, but I also strongly believe in the importance of developing effective learning and study habits, which can greatly increase the amount one can accomplish during a practice session. The lessons I offer are as follows: 1. Piano lessons I offer piano lessons for all ages, beginner to advanced. The lesson include: classical, jazz, blues, ragtime, rock, new age, country, TV and movie themes, video games, or whatever else someone wants to play. I focus on developing basic musical literacy: reading notes, counting rhythms, proper techniques, scales, theory and ear training. I generally use the Alfred or Bastien piano methods, supplemented with various sheet music, exercises, and work pages. I also strongly encourage improvisation and composition and teach MIDI sequencing and basic digital audio recording/mixing for those who are interested. Recitals are occasional and optional although again, I strongly encourage participation to develop performance skills. 2. Guitar lessons I teach guitar lessons to all ages, beginner to intermediate. It is roughly the same approach as piano but much easier to hang from a strap around one's neck. If you're looking for a great experience in music education for yourself or your children, I'll be happy to see if I can assist you. Lots of more information are available upon request, so contact me anytime. If I'm teaching or otherwise engaged, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I look forward to hearing from you!
I provide guitar as well as vocal lessons. I have been publicly performing music solo and in a group for over 30 years. I have helped individuals from ages five to fifty to develop their abilities and hone their skills in playing guitar, singing and preforming in front of a crowd.
I work within the realm of chord context and progressions. I am writing coherent pieces that will further your understanding of chords and their relationships.
I'm 15 years old & have been singing my entire life. If you are interested, I am happy to send you videos of my performances. I teach kids 13 and under.
I allow people to learn the guitar the way that best fits that particular person. If they prefer "the feeling" of music, I guide them through that. If they want to learn chords or Notes then I show them how. My courses are created for the person by the person, so they can not only learn guitar, but they may also experience and enjoy it as well.
I help you learn to play basic chords and read tablature for a basic understanding of guitar and the ability to learn almost any song at your own pace!
I compose a lot of the music I play, I have a contemporary style rooted in classical training which allows for a new genre I like to call Contemporary Classical.
My work may stand out from other guitar and bass teachers because I cover a wide variety of styles (whatever you may be interested in) and because I have 11 years experience of playing and have been taught my some of the best :)
I am a very patient and motivated person. I have played music since age 7. I have, and always will love music. This will be my first time teaching professional lessons, but I have taught people in less formal settings. I was in a band for four years and we played many venues. I can teach guitar, and bass.
