Best math tutors around.
My daughter received her first session of math tutoring tonight. My daughter struggles with frustration and self confidence when doing home work. Tonight was the first time I have ever seen my daughter Haley have a smile on her face after working on math. Haley absolutely enjoyed every minute of her session. She completed more work in this one session then I have been able to do with my daughter this Whole year. I'm very impressed. Would recamend her to anyone.
Kiran is an excellent educator. I don’t even have know where to begin with the amount of help he has given me throughout our tutoring sessions. Before I was tutored by Kiran, I was overwhelmed with all the entry exams for the ACT and SAT, I was not performing well on the math sections so my parents thought it would be best to get me a tutor. Kiran helped me set up a schedule of where we would meet every weekend. The whole month of August every weekend I would be tutored for around 10 hours. It seems like a lot of time putting into tutoring and a lot of hard work, but Kiran made it feel so easy. He set up lessons custom to my style of learning and went over every math formula until I understood and memorized it. He helped me push myself to my best ability, and eventually made math one of my favorite subjects. My ultimate goal was to score higher on my act Math, and Kiran helped me score 6 points higher on my math section. (Which is very difficult and rare to have that big of a jump in test scores). With the help of Kiran, my ACT score went up, I got into the University I planned on going to, and I received a Merit Scholarship from that University. The math Kiran taught me was specific to the ACT, however it has helped me so much more further than that. Such as in the classroom it’s so much more easier for me to understand and catch on to math, I am now able to comprehend problems and with the memorization of formulas I am able to test better. His teaching went beyond education, he helped me form confidence and valuing my education. He helped me realize that anything is possible as long as you work hard for it. His morals and teachings have motivated me and helped me reach my academic goal of going to my dream school on an academic scholarship.
Moe is awesome! He helped me review for a rigorous Honors Precalculus class and I ended up really understanding the material well. He always makes himself available, even at late hours. I plan on continuing to use him as a review source for my next math class (Calculus AB) because Moe is so broadly knowledgable and really makes sure his students comprehend the material.
I’ve taken my SATs a couple of times and although I am not a bad student, I just felt that I could have done better, I knew it inside, but just could not find where it was. I got the Getting Into The Ivys tutoring program and worked with a Chelsea tutor. What I really like about my tutor is that she’s a qualified teacher and is professional and knows how to actually teach concepts properly. I really did not want to take any chances. Going to university is very important to me and my family. Susan my tutor developed a special study plan just for me, which helped me focus on my key weaknesses, without feeling de-motivated, in-fact I was so enthused by her, I actually looked forward to all my sessions. She is a brilliant tutor and I am so very grateful. I was able to increase my composite core by 100. I am very pleased.
Love Arbor Tutors! It has been nothing but a positive experience.
My daughter had a wonderful experience with Jayne. Jayne had tutored her in both SAT and ACT math over the past year. She made huge gains in her score and qualified for a merit scholarship because of it. Jayne's patience, kindness and teaching style made a huge difference. We had had students at ASU tutor her before but with Jayne she definitely felt motivated because she didn't want to let her down. Her encouragement did so much to push my daughter to persevere. So thankful we found her!
My son has had Bill as a tutor for over a year and a half. My son stated that Bill is the best tutor he has ever had. My son who is now in 10th grade has a rough time in math. Last year, I was desperate to find him a tutor. Bill was recommended to me from a college. Because of Bill, my son passed all three semesters in math that Bill helped him in. My son wouldn't have passed if it were not for Bill. Bill is not only an amazing tutor in math he is a very kind gentleman and very trustworthy. I would drop my son off and pick him up when they were done. Bill has a gift in making math make sense. He is also very patient and professional. I can't thank Bill enough for all he has done to help my son succeed in math. I highly recommend him.
Mike Jordan tutored me with my college-level math and spanish courses. He did a great job explaining the information in a clear and understandable way. He was always willing to make time in his schedule to help me out and it was clear that his purpose was to help me achieve my learning goals. I got A's in all of my classes that received his help. I highly recommend Mike as a tutor!
Dan was great. He was very professional and my husband are really satisfied with our resumes. Would recommend him to anyone. Thank Dan!
I am an experienced private tutor teaching several different subjects. I am passionate about teaching, and I, myself, adore the learning process! I find passion in connecting with students, targeting their needs, and achieving their version of success. Every student is entirely unique, and each teaching experience holds its own outcomes. My tutoring begins with the goals and hopes of the student. They establish their goals, and I write a lesson plan that will get them accomplished efficiently. I work with students' current materials (notes, homework, or course materials) and also bring to the table my own tools and information to provide a well-rounded learning experience. I am always open to helping with a quick math problem or additional questions that come up in between lessons. I tutor standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT, GED, TEAS, and HESI. I have years of experience in this area and truly enjoy this type of tutoring. I give students valuable test-taking advice and help them get to know the material, rules, and format of their particular test. During my first meeting, I assess students with a comprehensive test, which I use as my jumping off point. I also discuss the students' goals, concerns, and results of past or similar tests. I develop a general impression of the students' unique learning style during this meeting. I write customized lesson plans in each area, targeting the students' strengths, weaknesses, and individual needs. We move through the material at a pace appropriate for the student. It is exciting to see students go from nervous and concerned to relaxed and excited for test day! I tutor biology, anatomy and physiology, and microbiology. I have excelled in these areas and find the subject matter purely fascinating. I love working with students to help them develop an understanding of scientific material and its implications in our world! I offer tutoring in English, writing, and spelling. These subjects offer an important foundation for all studies, and I like to help students secure knowledge and comfort in these areas. I also offer comprehensive tutoring (all subjects) for elementary students. This is such an important time for learning, and elementary students are such wonderful listeners and learners! I find motivation in these young minds and their desire to learn and discover new material. I believe tutoring can be an essential part of a student's education. Any student may excel at any subject given the right tools and guidance. My method of tutoring directly reflects this belief. The ultimate tutoring situation is one in which I can provide not only information to the students but also resources in which they may find their own information or further their own education.
I have over 6 years of private tutoring experience and 3 years as a professional AVID tutor for Gilbert Unified School District. I have a BS biochemistry (medicinal chemistry), BS applied mathematics, and BS anthropology degree. My MPH is in progress. I am a future MD.
I am very enthusiastic about learning. I love to discover new information and instill this love in my students.
I am able to professionally teach wide range of math courses on schools and colleges using up-to-date methods and approaches.
Recently, I am a freshmen in college, and I am a tutor for one of the ASU's tutoring centers. I also participated in Camelback High School's tutoring program, which from there I began having the passion to educate others. Whenever I have worked with with a student, I tried my best to be clear and helpful. I plan to use my skills on many students to see them succeed as others have.
I am a recent high school graduate, and I will be attending an Ivy League University in the fall. I went to a boarding school called Phillips Academy in Andover, MA for high school. I scored 34 on the ACT and worked as a tutor in science and math during my senior year. I am willing to tutor in most subjects, and I can also drive and babysit. I am extremely reliable, and I will help your child improve grades or test scores. I will be in town starting June 9th, 2015.
I am an artist and musician who loves to encourage and inspire others to express their creativity. I believe everyone has their own personal artistic prowess and musicianship. I studied jazz at the University of North Texas but began music and pursued art since I was a child. I play all styles and use all sorts of mediums in art. Over the last few years, I have also begun tutoring math, reading and creative writing. I would love to help you accomplish your goals.
I am very patient when helping someone figure out a problem. I do not give any answers, but I ask the student guided questions to help them find the answer for themselves. I am a huge believer in the idea that "the brain that does the work does the learning." I see every student as an opportunity to learn and to teach, and I approach problems from multiple ways in an effort to find the method that works best for that individual. I believe that positive guidence, persistence, and humor are the best ways to teach math at any level or age.
"Kyle C., I had the best math experience ever. You made me believe that math is fun. Thank you." -- Nathan Ledezma, Heritage Academy, Class of 2015 I offer outstanding and affordable math tutoring. As a recent high school graduate, I am well-acquainted with the struggles of students today. Employed as a special education tutor and an American history mentor for the last academic year, I have enjoyed lending a hand to dozens of students who need it most, and in the process, I have refined my teaching skills and gained valuable experience. One essential quality of any successful tutor is the ability to fully relate to his pupils; another is patience. Because I have epitomized both these traits, scholars and teachers alike have recognized me as an able and effective tutor. In high school, I was hailed by the faculty as the best student tutor on campus and recognized by my peers as the "Next Albert Einstein." When my classmates needed help with their work, mostly with math, I was happy to answer their questions with thoroughness and concision. Celebrating the improvements they have seen, multiple students took the time to thank me for my assistance. For example, Wyatt Bradsher, who is now studying computer science, told me, "You are the only reason my math grade is not failing. Having you [...] has really helped me learn." I realize that when mastering a new skill, knowing the answers is not enough; a student must understand the material and know how to properly apply it. When I tutor math, I use a variety of techniques to ensure that my students grasp the basic concepts behind each topic, depending on how the students prefer to learn. Some are visual learners, able to interpret diagrams and illustrations. Others are verbal learners, benefiting from spoken or written words rather than pictures and figures. Among my foremost objectives is recognizing how best to teach my students so that they can truly understand the concepts and confidently apply the skills. I specialize in all levels of math up to Calculus I including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. In addition, I am competent in SAT math, having scored a perfect 800 on the test just last summer. Math and major tests like the SAT can be extremely intimidating but with the right guidance, success is always within reach.
