Sasha with Body & Soul Food did a fabulous job with my personal cooking class in my kitchen. I set this class up as a date with my girl friend and she enjoyed it very much. Sasha was very well prepared and it was such a joy having her demonstrated and instructing us on the dishes we made. Our class was schedule around lunch time so we enjoyed the dishes as our lunch. It was such a perfect date. Good food and fun. I highly recommend this experience to people wanting to do something different as a date. Sasha is the one to call to make it happen.

For Christmas one time I paid for a private cooking lesson for my mom. Chef Tess cane to my home and spent at least the hours teaching my mom and I all the little details that go into making croissants. It was amazing, and definitely an experience we will never forget. She taught us techniques and recipes and made sure we could do it on our own before she left. Best Christmas present ever!!

I am a certified chef who enjoys both cooking and teaching others to cook. If you are hosting an event, I would be happy to do the cooking and clean-up for you or to help you do it yourself. If you are too busy to cook during the week, but tired of restaurant and take-out food, I can prepare and serve a meal for you or prepare meals for the week that you can have on the table in minutes. If you would like to cook for yourself or for your family and friends but just never learned how, I can help with that as well.

I will teach any type of cooking. You, the client, must provide the equipment and supplies, and I will teach you to use what you have. Otherwise, we will be going over diet styles, cultures and the history of food to reach a better understanding of the palate. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
