Carolyn is the BEST! If you are even thinking about a trainer - hire her immediately. I started working out with Carolyn in May 2016. I was in the worst shape of my life and, while I refused to weigh myself, some of the size 14 clothes that I bought at the beginning of the year (when I no longer fit into the 12s) were starting to feel snug and I was out of breath when I walked up the one short flight of stairs between floors at my office. I began working out with Carolyn 2-3 times per week and walking my dog in the morning. I also kept a food journal for about 6-8 weeks that Carolyn reviewed to give me ideas of where I could cut back without sacrificing my happiness (or my wine). After seven months, I've lost 2/3 dress sizes (I am solidly into a small size 10 now and very close to an 8) and over 30-35 pounds and counting! But, after all this time, I was inspired to write a review today when I (without even thinking) JOGGED up the stairs in my office and wasn't even out of breath at the top! Wow! What I love about Carolyn is that she helps you work your fitness goals into your life (whatever that may entail) and is friendly and approachable. (This is not the trainer that will make you feel weird about eating a cupcake...or two...). Also (and this is shocking even to me), I actually look forward to going to the gym. I didn't realize how greatly a personalized workout factored into my consistency. Now, when I'm a little tired, I still show up to the gym because I know that Carolyn will personalize my workout to my energy level that day. She also makes scheduling and payments super easy! Can't say enough good things about Carolyn!

I trained with Carolyn for over a month when I used to live in Tempe. She is great with the kind of exercise she makes you do, depending on your body type. She gave me some great tips on eating right. She does Yoga and I do Yoga a lot. I improved some of my Yoga poses while training with her. She went out of her way to accommodate our last minute request and our time with her was amazing- probably the most fun activity during our visit! There were 10 of us, all with varying degrees of experience, and she was able to keep things super fun, yet challenging for everyone! I fell in love with yoga as a little girl while taking classes with my mom at a local health club. Over the years, my relationship with practice has undergone many transformations. My teaching reflects my passions as a student. I started my yoga journey by taking rhythmically inspired vinyasa classes and loved the way breathing and organic flows made me positively glow. Since then, I have explored bikram and other heated practices, vinyasa and power flow practices, dharma yoga, rocket yoga, pranayama, meditation and classical ashtanga. I began teaching in August of 2013 after completing my hot yoga training certification with Yoga to the People in Berkeley, CA. After that, I enrolled in Yoga to the People's 200-hour RYT program and received instruction in the vinyasa flow style. I was apprenticed as a teacher with Yoga to the People in the Bay Area and in Tempe, AZ. Since then, I have begun my 500-hour RYT certification at Dave's Ashtanga Yoga, and I'm currently studying to complete it. I teach asana-based flow classes with roots in ashtanga. The physical style of classes vary from restorative to slow flow, and power, but they always emphasize the unity between breath, mind and body. I offer private and group lessons in a variety of styles. The offering is determined by the goals and intentions of the student. I teach at studios across the valley and offer corporate and private yoga by client.
