Dr.Stollar is the best tutor I've ever had! His techniques are a little old fashioned but guaranteed to work! I definitely recommend him!
Sari is all of the above! She tutored our son for part of his homeschooling English writing curriculum. Sari was always well-prepared and helped our son go beyond just responding -- she helped him take his writing to a deeper level, helping him write from a place of passion rather than simply intellect. She is warm and friendly and fun while, at the same time, thought-provoking and challenging. I highly recommend Sari (Sarah) as a writing tutor.
I am a junior in college and have used Arbor Tutors to help me succeed and become a more efficient student. I love how you can split your hours between different tutors. I was able to use some hours for chemistry, some hours for calculus and some hours for English. Five-star service all the way.
Jean-Paul comes to each class incredibly prepared and with a depth of knowledge that makes each class entertaining as well as full of knowledge. We are taking French 50 years after having it in college, and are amazed how quickly his methods have brought back our knowledge. Wish he had been there when we were first learning. Cannot speak highly enough of his methods and knowledge. Look no further for a tutor than Jean-Paul.
Amazing tutor! Very focused and really good at explaining. Makes a schedule and power points to explain lessons, and you get access to those things at any time. Also very positive and confidence boosting. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
Moe is a very good tutor. I came to him through an app called varsity tutors, and saying Moe helped me is an understatement. My math grade skyrocketed. My average test score went up 20% and really changed my year. If you're looking for a reliable, smart, and nice tutor, look no further.
Ana is a wonderful tutor for my two children. She has made them very excited to learn a second language.
Love Arbor Tutors! It has been nothing but a positive experience.
Audrey helped my 19 year old daughter with her struggle doing college math. With just one visit, Audrey helped my daughter's self esteem tremendously by sharing many tricks on how to do and remember math problems. My daughter is doing so much better in math now and we will definitely use Audrey again when my daughter feels she needs her help again.
My daughter had a wonderful experience with Jayne. Jayne had tutored her in both SAT and ACT math over the past year. She made huge gains in her score and qualified for a merit scholarship because of it. Jayne's patience, kindness and teaching style made a huge difference. We had had students at ASU tutor her before but with Jayne she definitely felt motivated because she didn't want to let her down. Her encouragement did so much to push my daughter to persevere. So thankful we found her!
My son has never considered math his forte. After just a few hours with Mark he got a 98% on his Pre-Calculus Test. My son says, "He explains the math from a practical perspective making it easier to understand". We couldn't be happier and hope to have Mark continue to tutor our College age son thru Calculus for Engineers and Physics, too. Mark responded promptly, politely and professionally to our request for a tutor thru Thumbtack. He took plenty of time on the phone to get to know my son's needs and course demands. The type of book, class format and so on. Mark arrives on time (always a few minutes early) and is ready to tutor. He has a lot of experience, seems like a good guy and my son is very pleased that we found Mark.
He's a awesome tutor
Linda was my daughters tutor for 18 months. Linda was amazing. She was reliable, diligent, caring and made all the difference with my daughters ability to improve her reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, memorizing and organizing skills.
Amazing service and help for students. My son did not add and subtract single digits less than a year ago. Now he's completing word problems on an 8th grade level.
Dan was great. He was very professional and my husband are really satisfied with our resumes. Would recommend him to anyone. Thank Dan!
Erin Ruecklies Jun 22 at 8:47 PM Erin, This letter is to serve as a reference regarding my families past experiences with tutoring completed by Erin Rueckles. There are several tutors out there but I was looking for someone special. I wanted someone that would specifically work with my two children not only on subject specific needs but overall planning and scheduling. Erin was good enough to start part way into the school year and was able to make significant progress with my kids. At first the kids were not excited about the idea of a tutor but I think they both quickly realized that Erin was interested in their success and was able to make them feel good about their time working together. She was able to build their confidence and get them through the challenges they faced. I would recommend Erin to anyone interested and we are looking forward to working with her during the upcoming school year.
"Kyle C., I had the best math experience ever. You made me believe that math is fun. Thank you." -- Nathan Ledezma, Heritage Academy, Class of 2015 I offer outstanding and affordable math tutoring. As a recent high school graduate, I am well-acquainted with the struggles of students today. Employed as a special education tutor and an American history mentor for the last academic year, I have enjoyed lending a hand to dozens of students who need it most, and in the process, I have refined my teaching skills and gained valuable experience. One essential quality of any successful tutor is the ability to fully relate to his pupils; another is patience. Because I have epitomized both these traits, scholars and teachers alike have recognized me as an able and effective tutor. In high school, I was hailed by the faculty as the best student tutor on campus and recognized by my peers as the "Next Albert Einstein." When my classmates needed help with their work, mostly with math, I was happy to answer their questions with thoroughness and concision. Celebrating the improvements they have seen, multiple students took the time to thank me for my assistance. For example, Wyatt Bradsher, who is now studying computer science, told me, "You are the only reason my math grade is not failing. Having you [...] has really helped me learn." I realize that when mastering a new skill, knowing the answers is not enough; a student must understand the material and know how to properly apply it. When I tutor math, I use a variety of techniques to ensure that my students grasp the basic concepts behind each topic, depending on how the students prefer to learn. Some are visual learners, able to interpret diagrams and illustrations. Others are verbal learners, benefiting from spoken or written words rather than pictures and figures. Among my foremost objectives is recognizing how best to teach my students so that they can truly understand the concepts and confidently apply the skills. I specialize in all levels of math up to Calculus I including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. In addition, I am competent in SAT math, having scored a perfect 800 on the test just last summer. Math and major tests like the SAT can be extremely intimidating but with the right guidance, success is always within reach.
I tutor all K-12 subjects, special education, IEP consultation, Empowerment Scholarship, and French and Spanish languages at $35 per hour.
I am an Arizona state-certified teacher. I have been a babysitter for the past 10 years for numerous families.
I've been teaching math for the past 15 years at the high school and college level. I like to make math fun and relevant to my students. I explain concepts in multiple ways to ensure that all learner types can access the information. I use a program that would allow tutoring to occur online in real time. We would be able to talk but the video would only show what I am writing during our tutoring session. I am currently the math curriculum coordinator for a local high school.
I am a mathematics major at Arizona State University working towards a certificate in secondary education. I love teaching and helping people learn especially on more difficult subjects. I can tutor in physics, chemistry, middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus 1 and 2, French 1 and 2, and small amounts of Shaolin KungFu and taekwondo.
