Earlier I took music lessons in another city. But moved to LA I decided to continue. For a long time could not decide with the teacher, but when I saw Griffith's ad and listened to his voice, I could not resist! And I made the right choice! Griffith real big talent and a wonderful teacher! We are engaged in more than half a year and I can already see a good result. When I go home after lessons I always in a good mood. Griffith helps me feel more confident! His approach is very wise and calm! How important it is! I advise everyone! And also I want to write a big gratitude to Griffith for everything what he makes for me))) P.S. And also I want to congratulate to Griffith Happy Birthday to and wish success in personal growth, a lot of good projects and the huge health! Thank you for being in my life!Highly recommended!!! 3 lessons already and singing has been much more fun! She is positive, honest, personal, knowledgeable, and a great resource! She's taught me to sing more naturally and how to perform and I'm glad I have the opportunity to learn from her! She certainly has a knack for developing this beautiful art in her clients! Thanks Jan!
Learning from Richard is awesome. What I love is how he focuses his lesson on you specifically rather than his other students. He's very open to working with different styles of music and has a classical/opera background, which he uses to demonstrate, so you know he's well versed in the craft. He really takes the time to explain to you what he's trying to get you to do and why, so that you understand it. It never feels like you're just practicing blindly. Since starting with him -- I've only had two lessons as of this review -- I've found that my higher notes, when I'm singing recreationally don't feel as strained they did before and singing lower notes has felt significantly easier. I'm excited to see how working with him will develop me as a vocalist. And the best part is, because he keeps his prices low, I'm never concerned that I can't afford to keep working at it.
Excellent piano lessons! I've learned lots of skills in Stephanies piano lessons!
Rickie is a fantastic voice teacher. Not only did she help me produce a clearer and more refined tone, teach me how to breathe effectively, and correct my singing posture, as well as help me in various other technical ways, but she also was interested in whatever was going on in my life and was always fun to talk to. Rickie's passion for music is obvious in her teaching and in her own beautiful voice (that's another bonus - she often demonstrates). She challenged me with a range of repertoire but was always flexible and took into consideration my musical interests. I'm sad I moved to another city; if I hadn't, I would still be going to my weekly lesson! I'm now in a collegiate a cappella group and look forward to continued vocal progress, thanks to this wonderful teacher.
I am 57 years old (no Spring chicken) and came to Thomas for tenor sax lessons. My purpose is to perform and record sax solos for classic rock and blues. Thomas does a great job with understanding my goals and giving me a road map to achieve them. Very patient and intuitive.
I have been a student with Kimberly for ten years. I have been taking blues guitar lessons from her weekly. Kim is extremely professional. She tailors her teaching to the students interest and playing style. She is very patient and often goes the extra mile to help students progress. I have been a dedicated student because of this. I have had the pleasure of playing guitar with some of her other students in ensemble classes who all give her praise for the way she conducts business and teaches her classes. I highly recommend Kimberly Allison of Starliner music to anyone wishing to develop their skills in music.
Stefano is an amazing drum teacher. He teaches in a manner that is not threatening or condescending, but instead is uplifting and positive. He is patient, yet understands that the student wants to just hammer away and make lots of noise so he mixes the basics with permission to let loose. He is also very individualistic in his teaching, meaning he really focuses on what you are asking and where you need help. For instance, I sometimes learn best by watching, so if I ask him to show me something he readily does. Or, if I am thinking way ahead, such as how I may use a flam in a song, he doesn’t get impatient and say, “we’ll get to that,” but instead, answers the question and talks about how it will be worked into our lessons. My experiences with Stefano have been nothing short of perhaps the best music lessons I've ever had. I highly recommend Stefano to anyone who wants to learn drums the right way.
Michael is an amazing teacher. Not only does he do a great job at explaining various techniques, but he also teaches the physicality of drumming, which has been very helpful for me. Within a few lessons I was reading music and playing actual songs. He's also really patient, and when I have a hard time grasping certain stuff he will turn it into an exercise. I've really enjoyed my time learning the drums with him!
I have been training with Paul over piano and voice, and I have improved significantly under his training. He has a vast amount of knowledge ranging from vocal placement to incredible knowledge about music and many other career guiding influences. He is very supportive and always wants you to succeed, and will help you figure out things in a fun respectful and professional way. I have learned so much from Paul, and I appreciate his love to teach and his love of music.
I went with my daugter for some vocal lessons and a recording and Mia was amazing, professional attentive to my daughters needs and fun to be with.
Howard Richman is not a piano teacher...he is a LIFE CHANGER. I went to him to learn piano...but realized that the lessons I learned studying piano with the MASTER were not merely lessons in music....but lessons that helped me see outside the paradigm in all areas of my life. Often, as adults, we "come back" to our music...to study what we have been "wanting to get back to" for years. I learned that this is often a time of great change and evolution for us personally. Howard, being so intuitive, knows how to tune in to each individual's needs.... and empower them to EMPOWER themselves. He is a BRILLIANT pianist, composer and master teacher. I've watched him perform miracles with young children who struggled with other teachers who simply wanted to teach "by the book." Howard is always able to find your inner talent and abilities, possibly that are even unknown to you...and he can creatively, intuitively and intelligently create a course of action that will leave you amazed! That's why you are reading SO many wonderful comments here about him. If you are lucky enough to get to study with Howard, it will change your life!...and btw, I can now play a mean Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"....Thank you for everything you taught me Howard Richman! Dylan is learning and loving his piano lessons! Wonderful school with great instructors, very organized, and we'll run!
Arlette is a phenomenal teacher. I have been taking music lessons since I was six-years-old, and Arlette is the best music teacher I have ever had. Her eye for technique is impeccable, and her love for the music is infectious and makes me want to practice. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Jazzly is the best music teacher I've ever had. She's reliable, attentive to my playing in order to point out bad habits and other things that are invisible to me, always integrates music theory when appropriate and does well to explain it simply without sacrificing any clarity of content. She's incredibly skilled as a musician which itself is inspiring, but unlike many other skilled musicians, she's actually able to articulate what she's doing and explain it clearly in a way that lends itself to being learned. Could not recommend her as a teacher more, it makes the difficult trek and initial learning curve of the violin much more easy to grasp and accessible.
I just started taking lessons with Nolan. I have enjoyed my lessons. His way of teaching is encouraging and inspires me to want to learn. He is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. As a beginner, I highly recommend him.
Base is reliable, punctual, and jumps right in when he arrives! He is focused on the student and pushes them (even if shy) with kindness and humor to grow and learn. My daughter is 12 and really enjoying her vocal lessons with him. We think he's great!!
Steve is a wonderful teacher. When I started lessons I had been playing for a while but I needed guidance on where to go from just basic chords and strumming patterns. Steve tailored my lessons to the genres I wanted to study while giving me exercises that would better my study no matter what direction I chose to go. We even started coupling the guitar lessons with banjo lessons! Steve is well versed in so many genres and instruments and on top of that, he is a friendly, patient and fun person who communicates well and is easy to get along with.
We miss Davie. Great piano and drum teacher. Enthusiastic and fun. Your child will love lessons with Davie.
My daughter Shavanie has been with at SoundCheck for about two months. First off I must say Dan & Electra are very friendly and down to earth people. My daughter does Vocal & Piano lessons with Electra, she is one of the best music coach my daughter has worked with so far...... I am amazed by her progress. She also does Guitar lessons with Josh, who is also amazing...she is finally enjoying her guitar :) Since my daughter has been with SoundCheck she has shown more excitement towards music vocally and instrumentally. I can't thank them enough! :-) I truly recommend SoundCheck, you will not regret it.
I was a voice student at Hollywood Academy of Music for a few years. The instruction I got was worth so much more than what I paid because my teacher went to one of the best contemporary music schools (Musicians Institute) and was a frequent performer. Not only that, but she was fun to be around and naturally a very good teacher. I also took from a few other instructors and the standard was always just as high, even though the instructors had different backgrounds, they were all well-educated and good with people.
