Plush did my bridal hair and makeup and my 13 year old daughters for my wedding on May 22, 2017. The ladies were very professional and did an excellent job. All they had to do was glance at the pictures we had of what we wanted and they matched it perfectly. Definitely recommend!

T-Rock (Taif) was an amazing DJ! Our guests at our wedding told us numerous times how the music was the best they've ever heard at a wedding! He kept it mostly EDM (which is what we wanted) but also chose songs that others could dance to as well. Would highly recommend and use again for another wedding or event in the future!

We could not have been happier with our decision to hire Rev. Drum! We live in AZ but got married in San Diego so hiring an officiant without meeting them first was a little scary. Rev. Drum made the whole process so simple and helped us every step of the way. He took the time to meet with us when we came to visit before the wedding and really cared to make our ceremony as personal and special as possible. You absolutely will not find an officiant more perfect then Rev. Drum, especially for his affordable pricing. He completely tailored our ceremony to us. Even our families couldn't believe how personal our ceremony was for hiring an officiant online and only meeting him one time. Rev. Drum is just one of those people who exert happiness and make everyone around him smile. Rev. Drum- from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for marrying us and making our ceremony so special. YOU ROCK!!!!! xoxox- Meredith & Brandon

Sara and her colleagues did such an amazing job on my wedding day! They arrived early and were set up and ready to go quickly. Everything went so smoothly and on time, I felt very relaxed with them. All of the bridesmaids and myself loved our hair and makeup!! They paid attention to detail and were great at modifying anything if needed. I couldn't be happier with the service Sara provided and would recommend her to any bride!

Reverend Rob was truly an amazing officiant for our wedding. We met him at a Starbucks to get to know each other and to discuss the weddings. He was very understand and friendly. He understood that we wanted a memorable yet simple wedding ceremony in front of our family and friends. He delivered an amazing opening, reading, vows, sand ceremony reading and close to our wedding ceremony. I definitely recommend Rob to officiate any wedding!

Steph was fantastic! She listened to what I was envisioning and then created the exact look I wanted. She made me feel very special and that no amount of makeup is irreversible! She buffed out and bobby-pinned and hair-sprayed until I was absolutely sure about my look for my wedding. She also helped out with my mom's makeup and my husband's wedding look questions! Thanks, Steph!

My fiance and I spent what felt like forever debating if we would need to hire a wedding planner and a florist. We really didn't want to because we felt we could handle most of it ourselves, but the hesitation was around the decor, flowers, and overall style of our wedding. I'm clueless when it comes to making something out of nothing... Enter Kelly (Champagne Projects). We met Kelly when she was hitting the ground running with Champagne Projects and always loved EVERYTHING she put together (even things for fun around her home -- you should see what this woman can do with almost any size budget and creative freedom -- it's astounding). So we thought, hmm, why hire a wedding planner and a florist when we have someone we trust right here? Fast forward to the planning part. I hate planning. Did I mention I have no eye for decor? Right. Well, Kelly dealt with this for about 6 months, providing suggestions, finding alternatives, and essentially saying, "It's OK, I got this," about a zillion times. If it weren't for her quick-thinking, eye for creativity, and love for design, I'd have pulled my hair out well before the wedding ;) ...she even worked with the event coordinator to arrive early to have time to get everything done without rushing -- details I'd never have thought of, she took it upon herself to go above and beyond. So long story even longer, Champagne Projects KILLED IT at our wedding. The bride and bridesmaid bouquets were the perfect balance of color and size, the centerpieces made the boring white table cloths seem non-existent, and the head table looked like something out of a fairy tale. She even personally wove together eucalyptus garland for our ceremony and brought extra flowers for the cake and desert table. When we got to the venue after Kelly and the event coordinator had set up, I had to walk around and just take it all in. She was able to do what most people really seem to struggle with - MAKE YOUR PINTEREST DREAMS A REALITY - at a really competitive rate. If that doesn't justify choosing Kelly to style your event, browse the photos on her website and Instagram. They speak for themselves! I wish I had more photos to share but they're not back from the photographer yet. THANK YOU Kelly for doing (what I felt like was) the impossible <3

They are AMAZING! We had our wedding on a military base. With so many restrictions and stressors, nothing was going as planned with timings and routine. Still they did an AMAZING job and accommodated our timing with no issues. I would recommend them for any event!

We loved working with DJLatina! She showed up super early to set up, gave us a great rate because we were on a budget, used both English and Spanish to communicate with all of our guests and played the BEST songs! No one left the dance floor all night! She went above and beyond, by allowing us to even use her projector screen for sign language videos that were interpreted! Would definitely work with her again... thanks for making my friends’ wedding so special and memorable!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
