About

Hi. I'm Lara, and I want to teach you how to play the piano. I believe that music is one of God's greatest gifts, and I aim to bring out the natural music that already exists in each of our hearts. (It's not cheesy, it's real, I promise!) Here's the coach difference: As a piano coach, it is my specialty to motivate and inspire you to be a great pianist along with the standard teaching of how to play the piano. Music is from the heart. It is passion, it is natural. Learning music is not about technique. It is about love. What does this mean? In almost all regards, we've gotten further away from the heart, and it seems it has become harder to tap into our nature with the demands of daily life. By focusing on the natural aspects of the music as opposed to the man-made elements (such as correct fingering, for example) we are able to avert the intimidation of facing the awe-inspiring allure of the 88 keys. This does not mean we ignore the technical aspects of playing by any means. It just means that it is not our primary focus. Together, we will set goals, work toward them, and accomplish your musical dreams. I will teach you the following: 1. How to read music. 2. Correct classical technique. 3. Music theory. 4. How to improve your listening skills. 5. How to channel your emotion into the music and really feel what you're playing. Along with, of course, standing by your side throughout your growth process and cheering you on throughout the way. Thumbtack has awarded me the Best of 2015 award for piano lessons! Thank you to all of my students (past, present and future) for your support and hard work that makes great things like this possible!

About

I provide both in-home private piano lessons for your convenience and comfort, or you may take lessons at my studio located in Huntington Beach, CA. Each students will have their own individualized lesson plan where technique, theory, ear-training, and sight-reading will be taught. I received a diploma from the National Guild of Piano Teachers, a division of American College of Musicians, and graduated in the top 1%. I am a classically trained piano teacher, but I can teach in all genres of music. I also teach all ages groups, as well as students of all skill levels. I try to make the experience of the lessons as enjoyable and fun as possible, while still providing the student with what they need to learn. I do expect each student to practice, so there is progression. Nothing motivates a student more than when they can see themselves playing a song that they never thought they could play.

About

She's very knowledgeable about music and very passionate about what she does. I was very scared of taking piano lessons because I thought I was too old for it, but she helped me overcome that fear. She made me feel confident about myself and pushed me to do better. I really appreciate her patience and encouragements. I also liked how she's interested in the kind of music that I like to play. I told her I was more into church songs, so she found a music book that had songs for my level. I am very thankful for the effort that she put in so I could learn how to play and have fun at the same time.

About

Rockstars of Tomorrow, and Michael Anderson are awesome. So are all the other instructors that work with Michael. They offer Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Voice. (i am sure even more than that) Want to play an instrument, he probably has an instructor that can teach it. Mandolin, Ukulele, Banjo, ect. The place I really see Michael and his other instructor Chuck shine is with Kids. They are so very patient, and have a knack for keeping them interested and entertained while they are learning. I started with Mike about 4 years ago. I had been fumbling along, I knew some chords, but had really picked up some HORRIBLE bad habits. He had worked with me to strum better, learn the Barr chords, music theory, timing, and scales. And that is just in the classes. Out side the class you really get the Rock star Experience. There are multiple (FREE) concerts each year. There is not an extra charge. No charge for the show, or the rehearsal. No costume fees, no set number of tickets we have to sell. We get to play on stage under the lights in front of a hundred or more people, with either giging musicians other similar quality students playing with us. Showmanship and putting on a Show. In June 2010 we did an 80's concert. Everyone Dressed up in 80's style. I dressed up as an 80's Hair Band, wearing spandex zebra pants, big hair, and a mesh muscle shirt. It was incredibly fun. He encourages FUN. He supports Fun. Want to do a fun Song go ahead. For the 80's show he helped me re-do an Air Supply song. We took the campy slow song, sped it up, added distortion, and ended up with a pretty slick performance. Now we are working doing the same to a Back Street Boys song. He even teaches us how to be roadies- he makes us wash his car, clean his house, and get coffee. ***That part is a Joke. Michael will even help you write songs or clean up songs you have written. He helped turn my simple amateurish song into a really good piece of music. And I know he has done this with other students, even to the point of producing records, and some promotion work. 4 years ago when I was looking at Guitar lessons, I could not believe the prices. Many were more per hour than I pay my lawyer. I found other places were as much as 100 for a half hour group lesson, 200 for an hour individual lesson. Michael's prices were the cheapest -by far- that I found at the time. Then, to make it an even better value, Michael has a hook-up at Guitar Center. Being with Rockstars of Tomorrow can get you GREAT deals at their Rancho location. Taking lessons from Michael has been and continues to be one of the best experiences of my life. I recommend Rockstars of Tomorrow to anyone who asks, and to some who do not. Thanks for listening. Now get out there and ROCK! I know I will. Kevin Lawrence.

Kevin is a knowledgeable, energetic and fun teacher who imparts good techniques and at the same time instills a lifelong appreciation of music. He is extremely professional and responsive yet warm in his communication style. I would certainly recommend him to any one who has always wanted to learn piano but never got around to it like myself. Better late than never. I am looking forward to and enjoying every lesson as my journey in this musical adventure embarks.

Josh had previous short lived piano lessons. But with Hummingbird, he LOVES to practice! The rewards he gets from the box if he practices on the required days has initially encouraged him. Now, he does it for fun and relaxation.

I began working with Janelle a couple months ago on pop vocal training. Even though it's only been a few weeks, my voice has already improved in clarity, tone, and accuracy. She is very professional and friendly and I would recommend her to anyone in need of a good voice teacher! :)

Ken is an excellent teacher. He taught my son, JT, guitar lessons for about 3 years. Ken is very patient and motivational, which was very necessary as my son was quite young at the time, . He has an incredible way of connecting with his students.. Ken was able to make the lesson fun for my son and focused on the kind of music JT liked to play. I would recommend Ken to anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar!

I can't say enough positive things about John Paul. He is very talented as a musician and a teacher. He is very unique and creative in his teaching. I learned concepts in a short amount of time in a fun way - chords, reading music, scales that would have taken me a lot longer and painfully on my own. He keeps every lesson interesting and fun. I feel lucky I found him so if you are in the area and want to learn the piano I highly recommend him as your next teacher.

My 8-yr old son has been taking lessons from Salley for the last 6 months or so. Salley tailors lessons to the student per I requested. Her teaching style includes a healthy amount of music theory along with playing, and she pays a remarkable amount of attention to the playing techniques. I am amazed by the attention she pays to details of playing techniques for my 8-yr old -- hand position, finger position, wrist movement, articulation. I am really glad that we found Salley. What she is doing for my son's music skills and appreciation is far beyond my expectations.

At age of 68, I have been Dr. Eberhard's piano student for only 6 months. She understood my objectives from the get go, corrected many of my bad habits built from my past, greatly grew my musical knowledge base, and demonstrated me with many skills for quality and enjoyment in piano playing. As a great teacher, Dr. Eberhard has exceeded my expectation.
