Absolutely phenomenal. I was super nervous and awkward during my wedding. But he broke the ice with some jokes and great advice on how to have a strong, healthy marriage. We love the way he officiated our wedding.

Will was simply AMAZING! I booked him on short notice and he worked closely with me to make sure everything would run smoothly. I hired Will to take pictures of my nephew's outdoor wedding at the beach. Before hiring Will, I had a number of questions/concerns and not only did he answer all of them but mentioned things that I had overlooked...NOW THAT'S A PRO! The day of the wedding he was there super early and came fully prepared for a day of shooting. Will worked hard to get all the essential shots I had needed and requested. In addition, he knew exactly what he was doing and needed very little direction. WHAT A RELIEF for me not to have to worry about what the photographer was doing! And I met Will a total of three times and he was never late...PUNCTUAL INDEED! And now the photos: Awesome! Crisp, hi-res pics of family and of those family moments were everyone's face looks good. Great use of depth-of-field and interesting angle shots. Will treated every photo with utmost importance and I am extremely thankful for his level of service and the number of hours he put in behind the scenes to make the photos look spectacular. 5-star service and very reasonable pricing! I would definitely hire him again.

Brad was absolutely AMAZING! You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, which is my favorite thing about Brad. I was a bit nervous hiring a photographer that I hadn't officially met in person, especially since photography is one of the most important things for a wedding. Brad did not disappoint. He arrived 30 minutes early, bright eyed and ready to go. He paid SUCH close attention to detail, and was really into getting the perfect shot. He gives you little sneak peaks on his camera so you can see how amazing everything is turning out. He had plenty of equipment, was very creative with his shots, and quick to capture the moments. I knew this man was the truth when he sent over a few highlights the very next morning. I mean, who is so into what they do that they're still working on your stuff after shooting for 8 hours the day before? I can't think of anyone! He was super pleasant, and fun. I felt comfortable talking to him and asking him questions or for certain shots. He wasn't one of those snobby photographers that try to boss you around and don't listen to what you want. Anyway, I could go on and on about how amazing Brad is, but I think you get the picture. If you're nervous about hiring him, don't be. He's the best and you won't regret it!

Joel and his business partner were on point from beginning to end. They knew how to read the crowd and kept the event going the entire time. He had backlighting set up, which is included in the package, which other vendors charge separately for. Communication with Joel prior to the wedding was very good as well. I would recommend him for any event, that requires a DJ.Thank you Joel!! :-)

DJ Charlie did an amazing job for my brother's wedding! He was professional, punctual, and very easy to work with. He made it very easy to plan the music timeline for the wedding by offering examples and suggestions as well. It was nice to know that anytime I needed to make a change or had a question, a quick phone call or email and Carlos would be there with the answer. The lighting at the wedding was beautiful and the music kept everyone dancing. My brother and his wife were thrilled with their wedding and we were very happy with DJ Charlie's performance.

AMAZING!! Words cannot express how delicious, and beautiful everything was. The presentation of the food made it looked like we were all eating in a high end restaurant. They were so easy to work with. Everyone in my wedding loved the food, I've been asked many times for their business card. And the cake, the cake was delicious, it was moist and full of flavor. I cannot believe I found a caterer that included a cake in their price, that honestly took a huge weight off my shoulders. Their prices fit my budget perfect, and the food and cake for such a low price was delicious. Thank you Boris and Carolina, the food was simply amazing. I'm so happy you guys catered my wedding, I will definitely hire you for our next big event.

From the first day we contacted and got to talk to Vic, we knew he was the right guy for our wedding. His attention to detail, and his constant reminder about this being “our wedding” really made us feel safe in hiring him. It wasn’t a random DJ trying to do everything on his own, but someone who wanted to make sure that everything ran according to what we desired. Aside from being a professional, he’s a friendly and easy person to talk to and brings up any new ideas when new. His experience can be seen from the first conversation, and is useful for those who might be nervous about music and how things are done. More than anything, we were so at ease with Vic not taking over the event in the sense of being the MC. But knowing when and what to say during the event. He kept the flow of the event running smooth, even when certain things ran shorter than they were scheduled to. Only a few things that came up that could of been improved were, request. We felt that a lot of the songs that we requested before the wedding weren’t played and some songs ran for too long. A little bit of improvement on the mixing as well. Overall. Dj Vic, really kept the party going, made our event exciting and a long lasting memory. He knew what to say, and when to say it. He was very professional and aware of the two different cultures in that room, and made sure to please and play music from both ends. His equipment is enough to make a wedding a great event, and not have to deal with dead mics or oversensative speakers. Thank you Vic for being part of our event, and for constantly checking to see and make sure everything was running smooth. We hope that our pointers are taken as constructive criticism, but not as the quality of your job. It was great to have you be part of this life event... To anyone looking for a great Dj and a great price. This is the right guy for it! Thank you Vic. Sincerely Erick & Brittany

Sean shot our wedding day video and my husband and I couldn't be happier with him! He participated in our first look, interviewed our wedding party and parents, captured our ceremony, first dance and all the fun of the night! The best part of getting a video of our wedding is all the things we didn't get to see or participate in (you can only be in so many places at one time!) that we were unaware happened, a funny dance move someone did or just the smiling faces of our friends and family! Sean was professional, polite and engaging with everyone. We highly recommend Sean for your wedding, family reunion or other event that you want to capture and remember!

Love love love the class and jazz that Tyler brought to our wedding! Never would I have thought Tyler’s touch at the wedding would make such a big difference. We received (and still are) so many compliments and comments about how cool and awesome that was. We had a Chinese & American wedding at a winery & both loved it and were taking videos of him all night. It truly would not have been the same without Tyler there. When I communicated with him when I was planning my wedding, you can tell how much thought he puts into his gigs. He played all the songs we requested and set the scene I wanted. He even communicated with my DJ to make sure all the equipment was compatible. Thank you so much Tyler! Best money spent.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
