Thank you DeNoise studio for our wedding video. It was such a pleasure to meet Albert in person and we really appreciated all of the extra touches he added to the video including pre-ceremony footage and post. The video is crisp and the sound is so clear. Thank you Angela and Jimmy for editing. We will cherish this video forever :)

Michael shot our wedding reception at a winery in Napa, and we loved him! He was prompt and very imaginative with the shots he took and suggested we take. We received our picture disc yesterday and we are blown away with the quality of his work! Would definitely recommend him!

DJ Stallion was very easy to work with. From the moment I put in a request on thumbtack, he was the only Dj to contact us within a week. HE in fact called me within half an hour. I explained that our wedding ceremony and reception were at two different sites, which I believed would be a stumbling block, but without hesitation agreed, and was negotiable on price based on our budget. He was very responsive to all inquiries we had, and was communicative with us even on the wedding day. He provides a blank list that you pick your music from, ( a collection of thousands) so that you know what he is going to play at certain times. He listened to our every wish, not varying from the music genres that we listed out for idle time, and lit the place up for the main dancing portion of the night, providing strobes in the evening, which laid a great backdrop for everyone against the trees. The ceremony site was pretty minimalistic with a couple of speakers, a microphone to say our vows, and an amp lead for the guitarist playing songs as we walked down the aisle. Despite some last minute logistical changes to the way the ceremony was going to be run, he rolled with the punches and took it all in his stride. On the way out, he hit the nail on the head with some Hall and Oates to mark the ceremony completion. As a former Wild 94.9 Dj, he brings expertise, class, and an open mind to help you tailor your wedding day to your specific needs.

We have made a new friend in Cindy and would love to keep her for ourselves. She helped my wife feel more relaxed and comfortable before the wedding, then continued to honor our family with manners and grace. We can't wait to see our wedding photos and are also anxious to develop other inspirational and motivational media projects with Cindy.

We hired Rob for our wedding this past mother's day weekend. The most important things for me in a wedding is the ceremony and the music. I was extremely nervous when it came down to hiring a DJ, especially without seeing them perform at another event before hand. Rob was such a professional!! From the first email down to the end of our wedding night. He had a variety of songs for all generations and cultural groups of guest we had. He also played all the songs I requested before hand and any songs our guest requested as well the day of. Not only was the music great, but He made our plain reception hall look so magical and dreamy with the different lights he added and definitely had some light entertainment for the kids. He suggested playing the "Shoe Game" before starting the dance. Everyone loved it!! Great idea and a must do for a wedding. All of my guest raved about the music and Rob had everyone on the dance floor. Stop looking for another DJ!! Book Rob NOW!! Thanks Rob for an AMAZING day! You went beyond what a regular DJ would do.

I discovered Patrick's photographic work about 4 years ago, his attention to detail and sharp eye stroke me instantly and therefore it was a very easy decision to choose him as our official photographer for our wedding. As expected, we were very pleased by the results, he got back to us with some very professional images both on films and digital which were more than what we could have expected. Through his lenses he made us look beautiful and he captured perfectly the essence of the day. I am glad we worked with him, the images we will have, to look at for the many years to come, will still carry the same magic that was happening that special day.

DJ Noel was the best DJ you could ever want on your wedding night. I'm a musician so I have particular tastes in music. I told him briefly about different songs I liked and he played all of them! I know one of the songs was probably hard to find because it was from another culture. It's like he read my mind for what music I wanted and when! He was there on time and brought all his own gear. Guests continue to compliment the DJ and it's been over a week since our wedding. He made our wedding special and I highly recommend him. Oh and I forgot to submit my father daughter dance. He ended up choosing one for me and my dad and I liked it even better than the one we had picked out! Five stars for sure!

William was an absolute joy to work with. He took special time and effort to make sure that the photos from my proposal were as beautiful as possible. When my new fiancee and I were late getting to our proposal site, William took the extra time to test and set up the shot. He even stayed to take some photos of us with our family. I cannot recommend him more highly!

DJ Or was amazing to work with! He was incredibly punctual and professional. With all the craziness of a wedding ceremony and reception, it was a lifesaver to have DJ Or's calming presence to help guide the show and make sure everything happened on schedule. Once the dancing started, he did a great job of reading the crowd and keeping the dance floor packed. We would absolutely recommend DJ Or to other brides and grooms without reservation.

JENNIFER IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She is so understanding, careful and knowledgeable about the products she used on me and my bridesmaid. She even gave me a makeup bag as a gift to use on my wedding day! I trust her on how to style my hair and she made me and the girls look just like the photos. She was very professional and down to earth! Would definitely recommend her to all my friends and family. I will hire her again on my next event and me and the girls are very fond of her and her talent. Thank you for everything! Hope to see her again soon!

If you're looking for a DJ to have people on the dance floor all night DJ Dub T is your man! He was so convenient! He took our horrible description of what we were looking for and turned it into a beautiful dance performance for our wedding. He took special song request to until literally 2 hours prior to the wedding with no question. He really loves what he does and you can tell by the quality of his work. There isn't ONE thing I would change about him. So many of our guests complimented the music throughout the night and there was not a moment that the floor wasn't crowded with dancers. Thank you so much for making our wedding one of the hottest celebrations!

We had such an amazing experience. Lara took our engagement and wedding photos and honestly, we could not have picked a better photographer. She was always able to capture the most precious moments in a very natural and elegant way. On the day of the wedding, she was professional, calm, but most importantly, she had a great, positive attitude. The photos came out absolutely stunning!!! We have viewed the gallery (so many times already!) and we absolutely LOVE the pictures, she captured so many details and emotions. The more we looked at the photos the more we loved them. We are seriously blown away with how all our photos turned out. We can never thank Lara enough for her amazing talent, positive attitude, and love she showed up. We highly recommend Lara. You will not regret it.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
