On 12-17-15, the Employees' Union of the State Bar of California hired Chef Marcel for our Holiday Luncheon. Chef Marcel and his staff came on time, set up quickly, and were very professional. The food was delicious and they were able to serve over 100 employees in less than an hour, and clean up and pack up quickly. Our luncheon was a huge success! I have received nothing but positive comments from my Union members. I highly recommend Chef Marcel and we will definitely use his services again! Great service, excellent food, outstanding communication and much more added value than expected. We hired Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for our wedding reception in Laguna Beach on 10-15-16. We had a 3 months window to plan the wedding from out of town and Carolina made sure all our vendor needs from rentals to reception food to our wedding cake was taken care of. She communicated often and made sure we got what we wanted. Chef Boris and his team the day of the reception were a pleasure to be around. The food was authentic (Soft Tacos)and DELICIOUS! Directly from our guest “you hit a home run with the food”, “best wedding food, ever”, “I went back 3 times!”. Our servers Gustavo and Sophia were very accommodating and always made sure ALL guest were taken care of. Highly recommend using Gourmet Lovers Catering and Cakes for any event!!
OMG! I can't say enough good things about our organization's experience with Zen Craft Catering. This was the first time using Thumbtack to secure services and I was a little nervous. Our organization was planning a holiday party and was trying to decide what to do about feeding our 50 guests. We were considering some type of delivery or catering but wasn't sure if we could swing getting a caterer on short notice. After putting in all of our information (late on a Sunday evening) we had a reply the very next day. Once we got in touch with Zen Craft Catering, and looked at their website, we were immediately impressed with the variety of the holiday party menu. After speaking with Amy, she worked with us to put together a menu, paying attention to our needs for vegan and vegetarian options. We were able to confirm the menu and work out all of the logistics in less than one day. Amy and Chef Sauber arrived at our event right on time with everything. (I was really impressed that their executive chef showed up for our small event). They completed their food prep and set up of buffet quickly. We were ready to kick off our party without a hitch. Zen Craft Catering went above and beyond, chef Sauber even made a second trip to get vegan dressing for our salad. The food was FANTASTIC! It looked gorgeous and was very flavorful. There was the right amount for the number of guests, and even some leftovers. Our guests raved about the food (the lobster mac and cheese was a hit, and the salmon with honey and chipotle glaze also received high praise. The kale salad with mandarin oranges and cherries was also popular). They treated us like a valuable client, were warm, friendly and professional. We are excited to have found a catering that can work with us. We are a community based organization that has done events and they exceeded out expectations. We look forward to working with them on future events!

My daughters Birthday was amazing, the Catering Carnival made pizzas, pink cone shaped french fries and Mac and cheese in cupcake pink cups, the kids were in HEAVEN!!!!! not one piece was left! My daughters exact words were " Can the Chefs come here every day" The display looked like a fairy tale , they were amazing, I will be uploading pics soon. Please Chefs save the date for her next BDAY!!!!
From the getgo I knew I was dealing with a professional in Marc. I was talking with a few chefs about the 4th of July party I was planning and it was obvious to me that Marc was on it- when I saw his experience running kitchens in NYC, maybe the world's toughest venue, I knew he was the one. His menu was outstanding and he was open to tweaking it ahead of time to suit our tastes and needs. Marc prepared food for our meat eating and our Vegan guests and each dish was clearly marked. When our party metastasized from expected 50 guests to over 300, Marc saved the day by thinking fast on his feet and with a little emergency grocery shopping, ended up having food for all for over 6 hours. The quality of the food really took the party over the top as far as sophistication- we've all had middling to bad food at weddings and other events and it just makes you feel awkward and bad for the host- not the case here. Almost everyone at the party commented on the quality of the food - bold, nuanced flavors but not pretentious. Also, couldn't be a nicer guy. Genuine real deal.
First of all Susan is delightful which is great cause who needs a snarky chef with attitude. On top of that she is a great chef. We asked for an American meat based menu and got the tastiest short rib in a Parmesan crust in individual bowls. I can't wait to use Susan again.
Had a great experience with Executive Chef Mark Kearney and Team. To set expectations before the review, I like to consider myself a food lover...not a critic, just a food lover. I love great dining experiences and am equally critical or disappointed when they fall short. My family and I were hosting Christmas Dinner for a total of 10 family members. I found Chef Mark on Thumbtack based on his previous reviews. Roy (part of Mark's team) promptly reached out with thought-starters for the meal and breakout of pricing. Over the next few weeks Roy, Mark and I worked closely crafting the perfect menu for my traditional Christmas dinner, while staying within my budget parameters. To note, Chef Mark is priced higher than some of the other chefs I was in contact with, but I'm glad we went with Mark based on the outcome. The menu consisted of 4 gourmet hors d oeuvres passed around while we opened presents. A fan favorite was the roasted fig with gorgonzola and prosciutto. Then time for dinner. We sat at the dining table and were served Butternut Ravioli as an appetizer, Lobster Bisque soup (a bit on the spicy side - only critique I have with the food all night) and an organic baby butterleaf salad with incredible apricot balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was both a grilled beef tenderloin (prepared to your liking) and pan roasted turkey breast. Sides that accompanied the main course were brocollini, green beans and bacon/garlic mashed potatoes. Everything (except the soup) was beyond 5 stars in terms of presentation, taste and expectations. Lastly we were served two very decadent and delicious deserts - a molten lava cake and traditional bread pudding. Two things to mention. My wife was forced (by her OBGYN) into a new diet two days prior to the Christmas dinner consisting of no dairy and no soy. When Chef Mark arrived we asked him what had dairy and soy ingredients and he quickly and thoughtfully mentioned that he could make my wife's servings without either dairy or soy. Talk about going above and beyond. This was much appreciated and set the tone for the entire dinner! I would potentially ask for two servers for the evening on future events. One to solely serve as sous chef, helping Mark prepare the food in the kitchen and the other server to help set the table, serve food, wine, etc.. throughout the evening. The 5 hours that Mark and Team allocate for the evening can go quickly. This might alleviate that. Either way, a great experience and thank you Mark and Team!
I hired Sierra Madre Catering for my husband's 40th birthday party held at my home. The set up process was so easy, they were so accommodating with the menu I wanted (even though it included fried foods and philly cheese steak sandwiches which are hard to make on-site). The moment they got to my house, Tonya and her chefs were so professional, speedy, on top of it all! They made my night so much easier and fun and I finally got to enjoy my own party for once! They left my house very neat like my kitchen was never used! They picked up after my guests throughout the night. My favorites were inside-out Philly cheese steak, pulled pork sliders, mac & cheese, potstickers and garlic fries. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you again!
Food delivery was a little late, but the Chefs stayed and helped with set-up and service even though they were not contracted too. They carved the turkey on location and stayed for the whole event. They also supplied plates and utensils even though we did not ask for them. They were great from start to finish with food left over after feeding 130.
I planned a dinner party on Halloween weekend and Chef Ana made it shine!!! two days before the party, my guest count jumped 10% and in a panic, I called Chef Ana and she said, "no problem". Everything was delivered on-time and hot, my guest loved the dinner, especially the beef on the skewers... oh my, super tasty. I will definitely use From the Grill and Pastry again!
Five stars for all for categories. The chicken piccata and trip tip were tender and delicious, and the side dishes were fresh and tasty as well. Aioli dropped off on time in nice dishes. My compliments to the chef!
I am beyond grateful to Thumbtack for connecting me to Chef Keith Prante and his team at Hautè Productions Events and Catering to cater my mom's 80th birthday celebration. They are absolutely A-MAZING! Chef Prante was one of two chefs who responded to my request via Thumbtack, and I also received a personal referral. Neither of the other caterers offered ANYWHERE NEAR the quality, selections, variety and value that Hautè offered at my price point. We had our tasting today, and it absolutely sealed the deal! Everything was delicious and the presentation was outstanding. I highly recommend Hautè Productions to any potential customer who appreciates excellence, accommodation and genuine customer service.
Chantel & Bella made us a two tier almond wedding cake with frosting that looked like roses. It was beautiful and incredibly delicious. I'd rate Chantel's work ten stars if I could. She is very talented and her prices are very reasonable. Thanks Chantel!!
Peter was a D R E A M to work with! We used Weho Sausage & Cathering Co for our recent wedding in Brentwood and we couldn't have been happier. Not only was the food impeccable, but Peter assisted with the complete set up of our event. He is a talented chef and talented party planner. So happy to have found Peter and will be using him again undoubtedly!
I used Aline as a personal chef for a bachelorette party. The dinner was incredible! Not only was it delicious, but it was beautifully presented (especially given the limited resources we had at the house). Aline was a joy to work with and I would recommend her to anyone! :)
Edmond was absolutely everything we could have hoped for and beyond! He catered a small dinner party for us last night and my guests are sending rave reviews this morning about the food and Edmond's wonderful personality. Edmond was attentive, responsive, creative and definitely went the extra mile to help out in all stages. His menu was outstanding. We can't wait to throw another party with him.
I truly enjoyed working with Amy. I had never hired a private chef for an event before so was nervous about quality and professionalism but I couldn't have made a better choice than Amy! She was super-responsive and pro-active with ideas and suggestions. We had a pretty hard-to-please group and everyone commented how wonderful everything tasted and especially how nice it was to not have to slave over the meal in the kitchen. Amy's pricing is also very fair and open to working with various budget ranges. There is no doubt I (and the dinner guests) will be contacting Amy in the future! Look no further than Amy...she's the best!
Acacia has catered private events for me and been the head chef at a former restaurant i used to bartend at. She is always professional and provides excellent food!
