Ina was very patient and pleasant to work with. She customized the lessons based on my interests and skill level. She is prompt and reliable and flexible. I traveled to cuba recently and she helped me with some travel dialogue and things to learn that would be helpful. I recommend her.

Rafael is my Spanish Tutor. He is amazing! I feel very fortunate to have met Rafael. It was very important to me to find a tutor who was educated to teach Spanish. His passion, experience and education with the Spanish language is obvious when you speak to him. Rafael is patient, reliable, intelligent, flexible, generous, and funny. He teaches at my pace, he doesn't rush me and he makes learning fun. He provides me with the materials I need to learn, gives me homework, and always responds to my emails, texts, and questions. Some of the tools we use are a text book, a simple writing pad, online tutorials, videos, excercises, and quizzes. Rafael is a gem and I feel to fortunate to have found him. I'm finally learning some of the more challenging things that I've struggled with in past Spanish classes.

I can't speak high enough praises about Maestra Zoë. My husband and I were looking to learn Spanish to teach our child. For one, she worked with our infant schedule and came to OUR place at 7am several mornings a week. This always speaks to her punctuality as she was never late. She is very aware of time and makes a point to "make up" any time for any reason (for us it was a crying baby!) She is very responsive- always confirming our meetings and exhibiting the highest level of professionalism while still showing genuine interest in your growth and development. Lastly and certainly most importantly was her demeanor. She is a gifted teacher- always reviewing while gently pushing your progress along. You can tell this is the joy of her life and she is happy to be with you and teaching (super refreshing from other tutors!) She desires you to understand and not just to memorize, thus takes steps towards holistic progress and not just a mere completion of exercises. My husband and I at different places with our Spanish yet she met both of our levels and gave us confidence to dive headfirst into our own learning as well as feeling comfortable practicing in that community. We can't recommend her enough!

Ms. Zepeda has been tutoring my homeschooled 4th grade son in Spanish. He is very bright but new to the language, and really needed a sharp, encouraging, supportive instructor to help him along. Raquel has been such a wonderful blessing. Warm, patient, intelligent, dependable, and professional--she's been fantastic for our child. He is learning a lot and is excited about the process, due in no small amount to her fun and savvy guidance. He really looks forward to lessons with her! I would highly recommend you see if she is a match for your family, as well.

Sylvia is tutoring my daughters in Spanish. They never had Spanish before, and when they moved to a new school, the level of Spanish is very advance for someone who never had the lessons. Sylvia works with them in getting them up to speed. In a short time, both my children had become comfortable in following the lesson at school, and I have noticed that both of them have made quite significant improvements. My oldest daughter tells me that once she is comfortable with her Spanish, she wants to start French with Sylvia. I am sure that if either of my kids need tutoring in Math, Sylvia would be the one we go to. If your child or children need extra help in academic, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you call Sylvia. My children are very happy with how she teaches. Sylvia is also opens to different approaches in teaching. If my kids want more challenge, all they have to do is tell Sylvia and she will give them challenging lessons.

I hired Edgar to help me better understand my startup equity while also helping me come up with a plan to pay off debt. An hour later and he's helped me save thousands of dollars in fees while also clearly setting me up to succeed in making the most out of the benefits I get from my job. I can't recommend him enough. He's clear, patient and a joy to chat to. Definitely hire him if you're looking for a financial coach!

About

Lingua Franca Academy is a company that offers Spanish and English classes to adults and businesses using a conversational method of teaching. Rather than listen to a lecture, students speak during 50% or more of the class time and are able to develop linguistic agility by using the language immediately with the help of their instructor. We seek to provide interesting, interactive classes for our students without the need to assign homework because we understand that students have busy lives and we are confident in our ability to teach concepts that will be memorable through our in-class exercises. If you have tried traditional methods of learning and have not achieved the linguistic agility you had hoped for, we invite you to try our method and judge the results for yourself.
