I like to follow the student's progress- how little they know about piano when start lessons, and how much they have improved after time!!! Outstanding Students:In October 2007, ALL 16 of Margarita's participating students, won a Gold Medal Award at Dorothy Sutton's Performance Festival, West Chester University. May 2011 - 2 Student Finalists at the International "Young Classical Virtuoso of Tomorrow" Competition, in Haverford, Pa. Only 9 medals are awarded to over 250 participants from the USA and abroad. In March 2012, one of Margarita's 6 year old students earned the Grand-Prix award in the Concerto Competition of the Concert Festival in New York. She later performed as a soloist with the Long Island Chamber Orchestra. May 2018 - 3rd Place award at the NEMTA (North East Music Teacher's Association) March 2019 - A Duet of V.Gavrilin's Tarantella earned a Gold Medal in the Golden Key International Piano Competition and performance at Carnegie Hall, NY. The chord-based learning method really clicked for me. Learning songs through chords made everything connect. I started seeing how melodies fit inside harmony, and it made it way easier to learn new songs and play by ear. My ear has definitely improved a lot; I can pick up songs faster and understand what I’m hearing now. I honestly feel like a better musician than I was a few months ago, with a much stronger grasp of music theory and how it all works. The group lessons have been great too. They’re supportive and encouraging, and everyone gets a chance to ask questions. Performing for the group felt surprisingly comfortable, it’s a totally judgment-free environment that helped me build confidence. Overall, Harrison’s creative approach to practical music theory has made a huge difference for me. I’m learning faster, I understand what I’m playing, and for the first time, I actually feel like I’m making music instead of just practicing notes."See more

Matt is an exceptional teacher! He was able to quickly assess my skill level and determine what I could already do and where I needed the most help. I like that he encouraged me to choose the songs to work on during our lessons which will make practicing a lot more fun. The technology he utilizes is top notch for virtual lessons. Matt is punctual, patient, and his skill level is inspiring. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to improve their piano/keyboard skills and have fun doing it.
