I had never been to a gym before. I found my best Fitness Instructor - George , thanks to Thumbtack. He helped me envision and attain my short term goals over a significantly short period of time. I had my wedding 60 days ahead from the day i started.I started my training the beginning of October and my the time I had finished i felt i had attained muscle and shape. George has innovative progressive build methods encouraging good habits and techniques. I will continue to work with George upon my return.
Anthony is awesome. He has great communication, designs tough yet effective workouts, always has a positive, upbeat attitude (even when under the weather!), and he is incredibly supportive! The gym is unique in that it doesn't feel like one of those massive 24 Hour Fitness behemoths that lack in the community department. God's Gym is very community oriented. Everyone supports one another, and it is really nice to see familiar faces every time I'm in the gym. The trainers want you to succeed and are not just in it to collect money. They legitimately want you to reach your goals, and that gets me through the grueling workouts 3 times/week. The equipment might seem obsolete at first glance. However, this is the kind of gym I imagine hardcore, loyal bodybuilding athletes go to train. Rocky Balboa would train at this gym whereas the scary Russian dude would be at Equinox (Rocky wins the fight in the end!). If you are looking for a no-frills, authentic gym experience, God's Gym is definitely a great place to go. I have only been training at this gym, but I look forward to sticking with it in the long run. Plus, they offer multiple training packages for all types, and it's very affordable. I'll see you at God's Gym!

I took a long series of abs classes taught by Nika. She is an amazing trainer and exceptional motivator! She has taught me that I can always work harder and do more than I initially expect of myself. Nika is super friendly and personable, but doesn't hesitate to push you to your brink when she knows you have it in you! Definitely the best exercise instructor I've ever encountered. She also has a vast wealth of knowledge on fitness and nutrition, so pick her brain!

Great vibe and fun instructor. I have only been to my first session and it went great. He is professional and easy to talk to and understand. I worked out hard but the hour went by fast and I left feeling charged up and excited about the process. He knows what he's doing but he actually made exercising fun for me.
Justin is AWESOME. Working with justin has been a lot of fun. Not only with strength trainining, but flexibility and core training with yoga and acroyoga with my girlfriend and I. I go to justin to boost my workouts and mix things up. I'm a functional movement based sports doctor and I can tell you that I'm impressed with Justin's approach to exercise and wellness. No matter how much you think you know, you'll still learn more, reach your goals faster, and benefit from seeing an experienced and knowledgeable trainer like Justin. He's also big on nutrition, which is fundamental to being and feeling healthy. His company Kula Wellness also does meal prep which is pretty cool. 5 stars!!
I've been working out with Roger for just over a year. Like many people I have a desk job when I sit all day so I would frequently have lower back pain. Due to Roger's extensive knowledge he knows exactly what kind of exercises my body needs. I'm happy to say I no longer have any back pain. I'm also pregnant now and he's modified my workouts to help me stay stong and healty without over doing it. He also had a great personality, and makes it fun.
I have known Caterina in the capacity of a physical trainer for over 6 months. Before Caterina I have had the good fortune of working with some very good trainers. I started training with Caterina due to my very unusual schedule which only she could accommodate at the time. What I started with serious hesitation, turned out to be one of the best things that has happened to me! Caterina is, by far, the best trainer I've ever had. I'm not exactly the easiest person to train. But, she has been nothing short of fantastic. She is very patient, encouraging, and motivating. At the same time she is very understanding and knows what her clients need. She can push you to your maximum, making sure you don't injure yourself. She does this in a way that makes working out seem like fun rather than a strenuous chore. The best thing about Caterina, though, is that she is very understanding, and flexible too. She's more human than any other instructor I've ever had. I would highly recommend Caterina to any individual looking for a quality instructor. She would be a great asset to have on board.
James terry gave me awesome mma instruction and cardio training, very good trainer. He is very knowledgeable about fitness and it shows in his training methods. I felt his instruction comes from a solid backbone in experience competing mma and wrestling. He is very calm and collective also when he trains you so you dont feel any pressure or intimidation. All around cool guy to have as a trainer.
My friends gave me a visit to Will for my 73rd birthday back in 2015. One of the best presents I have ever received. I decided to continue sessions resulting in big improvements my balance and core strength. I was concerned training would be expensive, but Will’s prices are reasonable. Will made me feel comfortable and not intimidated. Plus, he’s easy to talk to, so sessions go by quickly. He plans out each class to target multiple muscle groups and get some cardio. Starting training with him was one of the BEST things I've ever done for myself. I find him to be a good person, an excellent instructor.
My personal training experience with Jason Fox consists of three-days a week of a mixture of strength and cardio exercises. Jason is very flexible and communicates in advance regarding any schedule conflictions or need to re-schedule a training session. Thus far, I have lost a total of 8 pounds since working with Jason the first week of January until now, and have received much counsel to help support my weight loss outside of session (eg: Food choices, suggested water intake, vitamin supplements, etc.) . In addition, Jason is a very charismatic trainer and pushes me to be a healthier version of myself without over exhausting my limitations (eg: asthma, weak wrists, etc.). I am comfortable in knowing that I will be pushed each week to exceed my performance of the week, and am constantly encouraged throughout my sessions when I want to give up on a workout component. Overall, I am very pleased with my personal training with Jason Fox and would recommend him to anyone looking to be mentally and physically supported in your journey to become a healthier version of yourself.
So far we have met 3 times. 2 on exercise training, 1 for a massage. And, he is right on cue! I pat myself on the back to have made the right choice (for my first time ever) to have a personal trainer. I won't add any photos (yet) but, in a couple of months, (I'm sure) I'll be able to share the "before" and "after"...photos.
Omar showed me how to get my core stronger. He was a good instructor, very informative. With his technique it got me where I am today. He made sure I stay consistent throughout this journey.

I have been exercising at The Works since it began as a coop about 13 years ago (and before that in its previous incarnations). The morning classes are great - by which I mean challenging, never boring, fun and always changing. We have had consistently excellent aerobics, pilates, and yoga teachers and Sarah, our manager, keeps the studio running without a hitch. The atmosphere is upbeat, encouraging and friendly. It is a beautiful, airy, clean, well-lighted place to workout and dance. I can't recommend it enough - both to potential exercisers, dancers and to renters. Come and try it out!
