Everyone advised me against learning swimming as an adult but I took a chance with Veronique as my swimming-instructor and she proved everyone wrong. I am a BIG person and she made me overcome all my phobias and helped me learn. She is a really patient teacher and respects your limitations, and yet pushes you subtly to get out of your comfort zone. I am really happy that I found her and I highly recommend her as a swimming instructor for both kids and adults. The best part is she slips in a little bit of workout and Yoga tips into your swimming class, which helps you A LOT once you are in water and actually swimming :)

I've taken multiple yoga classes here and they are fantastic instructors. The partner yoga workshops they put on are so unlike any classes I've ever taken. You should try it out, with friends or your significant other. Also their meal prep service saves me a ton of time and the food is delicious!

When I started off with meditation months ago, I was extremely stressed out with work and life, and I've been told that meditation could help. What better way than to learn from a monk who has practised meditation for more than 30 years? To be honest, there are a lot of charlatans in this field, and it's extremely important to find someone who can truly help you out. Dada (aka) The Monk Dude is someone who knows the ins-and-outs of meditation from a physical, psychic and spiritual standpoint. He is also an excellent teacher and worked with me patiently to help all problems I had. The routine works towards both physical wellness, and mental wellness. In the beginning, meditation is harder since it takes a while to understand the mind, but the techniques Dada thought me are just too perfect, and really approaches this from a scientific standpoint. I'd strongly recommend him to anyone looking to learn the secrets of meditation. I can't thank my good fortune to have met him and I hope to continue to learn from him! -- Venkat

"Before I took Jacquie's bubbling and rainbow meditation class, I had no idea that I hold the power to help heal and protect myself on a daily basis. Being empathic, I pick up lots of energy everywhere I go and this can make for unnecessarily stressful and emotional times, but Jacquie gave me the tools to help cleanse and shield myself and stay comfortable everywhere I go. I also love working with the angels to help cleanse my energy and my surroundings - something I had no idea I could do until I took Jacquie's class! Jacquie is understanding, compassionate and wonderful to work with; I highly recommend her class and healing sessions.”

I am taking private yoga lessons with Amanda twice a week and OMG, what a privilege! Once I retired I promised myself that I would use my hard earned money to do something special for myself. One of my desires was to find someone who could help me get back to myself after so many years of giving to everyone else. I was skeptic the first time I met Amanda because I was so much older than she but after 10 minutes talking with her I knew I had ended my search. She put me at ease immediately as she listened patiently to all of my requirements without interruption. I have taken many yoga classes in my 65 years (both private and group) but this is the first time I have been fortunate enough to have found someone who can teach me how to tap into my total self. My experience with Amanda has been phenomenal. She is a truly devoted teacher with an in-depth knowledge of the true philosophy of yoga. Amanda shares her skills and experiences in a kind and non egotistical way. I come away from each session in touch with myself on so many different levels. Amanda is not just a yoga asana instructor she is a true yoga teacher. I am very fortunate to have become one of her students and always look forward to our time together.

I had a private yoga session with Claire and as someone new to yoga, I felt that Claire's instruction was clear and helpful. I've gone through a few yoga techniques on my own following the instruction of youtube videos, but I found Claire's session to help take me to the next level. She corrected my form and technique to help me get the most out of my yoga and I could really feel the difference in what I was doing before versus what I learned from the private session. Claire helped me loosen up my hips and introduced a few new poses that I've added to my routine and helped fine tune the ones I was already familiar with. Overall, I enjoyed my session with Ferox Yoga and would definitely try more classes in the future.

For me, Ericka is one of those people that you feel fortunate when you cross paths with them in life. I met Ericka when she started teaching yoga at my company twice a week more than two years ago. She is easily relatable, down to earth and doesn't take her self too seriously - but she definitely knows her yoga. Our class is a great combo of folks who take yoga seriously and folks who are there for work yoga. I appreciate how she tries to tailor each class based on what types of ailments each of us have that day. But more than that, Ericka has been a friend and an awesome teacher for me personally, so if you have the chance to meet her and work with her - I would highly recommend it. Gabe

I stumbled upon Denelle’s class and, for the first time since moving to Denver, felt like I was home. Denelle’s style is grounded in yoga theory with sequences that are meaningful, creative, and challenging without feeling like an aerobics class. Each movement and pose that Denelle chooses for her class has a purpose. Denelle’s love for yoga and her students is so clear, and it is contagious. After each class I attend with Denelle, I feel physically strong, mentally clear, and emotionally connected to the world around me. With humility a heart full of gratefulness, Denelle shares love and wisdom with her students. I’ve taken dozens of yoga classes that take students through the marriage of poses and breath. Denelle takes her classes to another level, infusing them with purpose and urging students to grow and explore through the movements of their practice.

Jenny is the best yoga instructor...ever! I've had many private lessons with Jenny and she has not only up'd my yoga game but also my confidence to move through poses correctly so I can really focus on my breath and mindfulness practice. She has helped me work on several poses that I've always wanted to be able to do but thought I'd never get there (e.g., headstand). She gave me several pro yoga tips and I was doing them in a matter of literally ONE session. She also understands that yoga is not cookie cutter. She adapts poses and tailors lessons to your unique needs. For example, I was trying to do Plow pose in a class but I could never do it because my boobs chock me. So I brought this pose to her and she helped me learn how to do the pose safely with props so I didn't have to sit the pose out completely during class. After a private lesson I feel energized and re-inspired to continue yoga. Often in privates with other people or classes you can sometimes feel bored or like you didn't really gain anything. That has never been the case with Jenny's privates. I always leave wanting to explore yoga in new ways and feel excited for my next private with her. Honestly, Jenny has a very sweet energy, is talented in yoga fundamentals and advanced yoga concepts, and is a lot of fun. You will not be disappointed with a session from Jenny! You should definitely book!

Wow, Alia has made me realize why I as a beginner yoga student need individual lessons. I've tried group lessons of 20 ppl or more and yes the yoga videos. She was very thorough explaining/demonstrating breathing, posture, form and etc. Then as i attempted pose/breathing she would guide me to the balanced form at my level. It finally made sense and it actually worked! Now why only 4 stars? Well, Alia has moved from San Diego to San Francisco without me, her favorite student hehehe No worries she had referrals for other coaches and I will definitely see her when I visit SF.

Regina was amazing to work with! She immediately recognized things about my body that I've been struggling to identify for years. She gave me clear and specific tools that I can apply as I develop my own practice and attend other group classes. I highly recommend Regina to anyone looking for a more personalized introduction to yoga. I will be booking again with her very soon!

Brett and his team were wonderful! We used a few of the services that EWS offers massage, desk yoga and healthy cooking classes. The people in our offices would line up to sign up; it was always a full house. I would recommend EWS to any company looking to provide Professional on-site wellness service to their employees.

Monkey Yoga Shala

    About

Isometric Monkey Yoga - IMY- is fun, accessible, and challenging. The synthesis of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, dance, and martial arts principles, IMY is a non-impact, aerobically efficient alternative to weight lifting and passive stretching. Isometric exercises and resistance stretching place the emphasis on muscle growth, separation, and definition. Monkeying around in the Asanas, slides the muscle sheaths independently, melts fascial binding, engages new muscle fibers, and increases proprioceptor nerve growth, making the body long, strong, supple, flexible and agile. You will laugh, sweat, and be sore the next day, good sore. Effort and intelligence evolve the monkey, transforming pain into pleasure and restrictions into abilities. The first monkey rule is to do what you like, and don’t do what you don’t like. All of our teachers will help any willing student to modify the Asanas to make the positions and sequences easier and simpler, or more challenging and complex. Please view the Photos Page on the MYS website to get an idea of the Asanas and sequence.
