Brandon is the best bass teacher I’ve had. He has been helping me a lot on bass since I’m taking lessons with him. He goes through things in details and explains concepts clearly. It’s always fun to work with him and getting music ideas from him.
I've been wanting to take guitar lessons for over a year after winning this great guild guitar and I haven't found anyone that I could really connect with. Took a few classes but from day one I didn't feel a connection and to me thats the most important thing. Day one with Ricky was great. We discussed the different kinds of music that I wanted to play and he even asked to listen to some of my favorite songs to get an idea of my style and we started immediately. It's only been about two months and I can already play a good handful of songs and my confidence has gone up tremendously. I think anyone who's interested in playing guitar should check Ricky out. He also has deals on his rates if you pay in advance. Dalmasy
Michael, from my first lesson was so attentive to what I wanted to learn. Kind of in passing, I told him that I loved to sing but was afraid to so he really coaxed me to sing along to all the guitar songs I was learning (I really do not think that any other guitar teacher would have bothered...like "not my job". But, not Michael, he took that on as his job because he recognized that it was important to me). Likewise, when I would show an interest in a particular type of music (i.e. I like acoustic and more mellow, verging on country even), he found songs like that for me and he taught me my songs I had picked even though I doubt that they would have been his picks. In summary, he wanted me to relate to and enjoy the music; the lessons are all about what I want to get out of them...with professional guidance along the way as well. The other thing I want to definitely mention is that, Michael is top-knotch, professional and KNOWS music. He encouraged me to not only learn songs to play but to understand the theory of the music in those songs. I feel very proficient in music theory after taking classes with Michael. I not only play the stuff but I "get it." I understand the technical theory involved. I really think that this is something not every guitar teacher brings to the table or encourages. Many just do not know it! With Michael, we can move from guitar to piano so that he can illustrate something about chords in a key or the difference between major, minor, dominant and diminished chords. Bottom line, I have fun during my lesson but I learn so much more than memorizing chord shapes on the guitar. And, when I play and sing a song...well, it really feels great! Honestly, he is the BEST! He just cares so much about you learning all you can regarding music and he knows how to teach it so that you get to understand what can at first seem so unfamiliar. Michael has the holistic approach. He makes music familiar, logical, relatable and, most of all, Enjoyable. As his student, thumbs-up!
Dave is a wonderful, talented, patient teacher who has been giving my teenage daughter guitar lessons for several years. He encourages her with the music she wants to play and pushes her to expand her style as well. I highly recommend Dave as a superb guitar instructor!
So far my daughter loves him. We like that he teaches voice, guitar and song writing.
Spencer is a wonderful guitar teacher! He is friendly, knowledgeable of music theory, patient, able to work with kids and adults with a variety of skill levels. He is also quite inspiring and motivating. He made guitar lessons fun and exciting.
I wanted a teacher that could work with an older adult who not had piano lessons since childhood. After many years, I wanted to challenge myself by getting back into piano and I wanted to bring music back into my life. I was a bit nervous about making the commitment and about the time investment that would be required. I also didnt know a good teacher so I asked around. Howards name came up. He was recommended as a patient and knowledgeable teacher that would do wonders with students. Howards approach is not the conventional one that I experienced as a child. He presents many types of approaches and uses lots of tools and techniques to build your skills and understanding of the structure of music. Now, Im stretching myself to learn, remember and apply these skills and it feels really good! I actually enjoy practicing my piano. Now thats a testimony to Howards influence! If you are looking for a teacher that can accommodate your needs, encourage and inspire you, meet Howard and try him out. Im confident that you will be very pleased with him as a professional and as a teacher.
Leila is the best guitar teacher I could have ever asked for. She not only helped me improve my skills overall but supported me in the most caring ways possible. If I ever need a lesson down the line, she will be there first person I’d even consider calling. She’s the best!!!
Daniel has been giving my 10 year old son guitar lessons online for several months now and I couldn't be happier with our experience! The online lessons are extremely convenient for our busy lifestyle and Daniel's teaching technique has captured the attention of my busy body son. He's learned so much these past few months and he loves it! Thank you Daniel!
Mitch is a fabulous guitar teacher. He has helped my son understand different concepts from cord shapes to advanced music theory. Mitch is easygoing, fun to work with and most importantly can accommodate any style of music. We have referred him to several people.
Eric was great. Not an hour after I Thumbtacked with a last minute audition learning situation, he contacted me and we were able to schedule an appointment that afternoon. I sent him sheet music digitally, and had it printed, analyzed and ready to teach when I arrived at his studio. He was great on guitar, in addition to being an articulate and patient instructor. He made sure I was comfortable reaching out to him down the line with questions, and followed up a few days later to see how the learning went. Well worth the cost, highly recommended. Thanks, Eric!
Mark is a great and dedicated teacher, he values his student's learning process and does his best to help them improve. I've had a few lessons with him and he takes his teachings seriously. He's also really funny and a nice guy. Classes with him are light-hearted and goofy.
My daughter Shavanie has been with at SoundCheck for about two months. First off I must say Dan & Electra are very friendly and down to earth people. My daughter does Vocal & Piano lessons with Electra, she is one of the best music coach my daughter has worked with so far...... I am amazed by her progress. She also does Guitar lessons with Josh, who is also amazing...she is finally enjoying her guitar :) Since my daughter has been with SoundCheck she has shown more excitement towards music vocally and instrumentally. I can't thank them enough! :-) I truly recommend SoundCheck, you will not regret it.
Fretz was amazing. He contacted us before leaving for the appt. with my son. Took the time to listen and teach my son who is a beginner (like only a few days with a guitar). The lesson went well over the time we agreed on but Fretz didn’t expect any extra compensation he did it cuz of his passion. Would definitely recommend and will use again.
I have known Ms. Macleod for almost a year. My son has been taking piano lessons with Lynne beginning last September. The progress he has made during his seven months with Lynne as a teacher far exceeded any expectations I had and demonstrated to me what a wonderful teacher she is. Ms. Macleod is a very friendly and patient instructor. My son enjoys his piano lessons and is extremely relaxed and comfortable with her. She encourages and coaxes the very best effort from him. The community is extremely fortunate to have a music teacher like her. In my opinion, her prices are extremely reasonable and she is worth every penny she charges and I certainly believe I have received excellent service. It is my great pleasure to recommend Lynne Macleod to you as a music teacher for your children.
