Chris catered a dinner party at my apartment and everything was top notch. He arrived promptly, had enough time to get organized before the guests arrived, and looked very professional. The presentation of the food was as delicious as it tasted. My friend helped organize the menu and every course was more delicious than the next. I look forward to having him caterer more frequently, as well as teach cooking classes. Chris' professionalism and attentiveness was incredible. Thank you again for a wonderful evening!

via Melissa, or "Chef Melissa" as we call her, exceeded our expectations! We took her from her usual route of healthy food and asked her to run a cooking class so that children with Celiac Disease could make and enjoy cupcakes on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday. She was really flexible and provided what felt and looked like "regular" cupcakes but modified for strict gluten-free compliance and somehow they were a little healthy too! All natural. even organic and dairy-free where possible. The ages of children who attended ranged from 4-12 and she worked really well with everyone! She set up before we (event organizers) arrived and had a friendly helper with her. They were professional but the kids related to them very well. The parents were all pleased and her rate was really reasonable! Our support group doesn't make any money from events like this, parents paid her directly and she was accepting last-minute additions without any worries. I can't think of a single negative - in fact we'd like to work with her again this year! Oh, and she even took the work of finding a location away from us (we're 2 volunteers who run this group for our children and others). Next class, we'll go a little healthier and really take advantage of ALL that via Melissa has to offer our kids! :) Oh, and she's even sending us kid-friendly, healthy and gluten-free recipes for us to share with the families in our group! She really goes above and beyond!

I hired Mitch to do a cooking class for 5 girls from 7-10 years old (surprise) . He was very enthusiastic, asked what the girls like the most to cook and offered a few choices of menu that I could pick from. He gave me a list all things that i need to buy for the menu ahead of time. on the day of the class, he arrived on time, played a game right at the door with girls to guess what was he doing in our home.Originally he set the time to be 2-3 hours but he stayed for 4 hours and did not rush anything in order to finish early and his price stayed the same! Mitch started teaching basics of how to hold a knife, how to cut and let all the girls using his knife and cutting tomatoes and onions for salsa, cutting bacon for Pasta Alfredo, etc. He mixed up cooking with fun jokes with girls and gave a history of the food or ingredients where it was appropriate. He was super patient with all the silly or serious questions from the girls. our menu was pasta Alfredo, soft and hard tacos with ground meat and eggless chocolate mouse for dessert. we had a great meal and leftover for the next day. Mitch cleaned up kitchen and utensil well during and after cooking so i did not have to clean at all. I have recommended him to my friends and would hire Mitch again.

Jennifer was prompt in her response to my inquiry about a holiday meal/cooking class, creative in coming up with solutions to meet our family member's dietary constraints, and very easy to work with in planning the menu. Her prices are very reasonable! The food was very good and we had fun watching and helping a bit with the preparation. We would recommend her.

Working with Chef Jackie was amazing. She was very responsive to all our requests, and came up with great menu ideas that we were excited about. At the cooking class, she was organized, clear, and friendly. She made the cooking feel very low-pressure and fun, while giving us really valuable information and cooking tips. We loved everything we made, and felt really well-prepared to recreate the recipes at home. It was a fantastic experience.

Chef Leo exceeded my expectations in every way. He hosted a wonderful cooking class for my daughter’s birthday, even providing a take home cook book for the kids featuring the four dishes they created. He was willing to work w us on the appropriate menu, showed up early to prep, cleaned the entire kitchen, and provided an absolutely delicious meal!

Deborah is not only the utmost professional, she is also an absolutely phenomenal cook. Her cooking passion is obvious in all she does, including the desire to help others create fabulous meals. She makes the most difficult dishes look easy. Because of her love of cooking, she is also very patient in teaching others (as I learned first-hand!). Her past professional customer service is evident in her current endeavors. You will NOT be disappointed.

After being impressed with Evelyn's Kitchen for a company event, I reached out to the team in hopes we could work together for my wedding. I explained the very cozy and intimate vibe we wanted to create and they nailed it. The initial questionnaire they provided asked a wide range of questions that allowed us to share our personalities, favorite foods, dining style, etc. After drafting our items, we were invited for a tasting that was nothing short of delicious! Ayala took the time to learn about our guest list, describe each item, and review the proposal against all scenarios at the wedding which helped put things into perspective for us. We ended up going family style which they made sure didn't compromise the quality or taste of the dishes. Ayala and her team worked with us every step of the way. The staff was also really incredibly helpful, professional, in the moment, tidy, etc. This was a huge plus. I had friends of mine telling me about the staff the next day. They were great. I've been recommending Evelyn's Kitchen left and right! Our favorites: Lemon pepper chicken wings, mini lobster rolls, chicken apple sausage puffed pastry, coconut rice.

I hired Rae to come cater a small birthday dinner in my home. It was an amazing experience! All I said was that I would like it to be light (it was the middle of summer) and exciting. She exceeded expectations creating a truly exceptional meal. We had summer rolls to start, an incredible red cabbage/avocado/papaya salad, a seafood green curry stew, and a passion fruit cake for dessert. Each dish was colorful and beautifully presented and the flavor was absolutely delicious. She was easy to communicate with, and flexible with scheduling and menu prep. I was glad that I gave her loose instructions and didn't micromanage because her creativity and passion for what she prepared was evident. I highly recommend Rae and will be hiring her again in the future!

I took a cooking class with James which was wonderful. He planned a terrific menu, at Sur La Table. We learned knife skills and some great new recipes. After this class, my cooking club hired James to do a class at someone's home. We planned the menu , together, and all 6 of us took part in this great evening of slicing, dicing and baking.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
