My son as a 15 year old was very hesitant about taking voice lessons. Chelsea has made him very comfortable and takes the time to assist him in advancing his skills. She has been a great asset to him. I would recommend her 100%.

I started taking voice lessons at New Haven Academy of Performing Arts with Billy just over a month or so ago. I can honestly say it is my favorite part of the week. Billy is so knowledgeable and talented and makes lessons fun. I have already learned so much about the voice and Billy has helped tremendously with my confidence level. I would recommend anyone from any experience level to NHAOPA in a heartbeat!

Becca has been teaching my son voice lessons for several years and she is phenomenal with him. She has adapted her teaching strategies to accommodate his changing voice. My son is very shy and she has worked through that shyness with him so that now he is more comfortable and confident in his performances. She has nourished his love and passion for music through her own passion and love. I am forever grateful for her dedication and patience to helping her students achieve their goals and dreams.

Andrew is very patient & easy to work with. He picked up on things that other voice teachers missed. In addition to the abdominal breathing which is highly important, there is also vowel modification which helps in singing the line and avoiding vocal strain. Andrew will show you how to master these elements. It was also helpful that our session was recorded as I now have a reference point to further aid me in my training. Looking forward to my next lesson with him !

When I went to my first lesson with Michelle, my voice was so strained I could hardly sing at all. I have been performing in bands for 12 years, but never knew what proper technique was. She taught me therapeutic exercises which have healed my voice in a very short time, as well as techniques and strategies that have made me a better singer. I am so grateful for her!

Denise was my piano teacher for almost 10 years- from fourth grade through twelfth grade. I started playing music by just messing around on a keyboard making up little songs. Soon after, my parents found Denise for me and it was the best decision they could have made. She has made me a confident and competent pianist. She classically trained me- teaching me favorites like Clair De Lune and the Moonlight Sonata, but also technically challenging pieces such as numerous pieces from Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier. She gave me direction and taught me everything I know about music. However, she also gave me the liberty to determine what pieces I wanted to learn and how to use our time together. One of my favorite things about Denise is how nurturing she is. When I went away to college, I took piano lessons and my teacher there was very strict. I realized that a lot of people taking lessons were used to strict teachers. Musicians seem to think that music educators need to be strict and unaccommodating in order to inspire greatness. However, she is an incredible musician in her own right, and an incredible teacher. She was always very patient with me over the years, and I always loved coming to lessons. Every lesson, every week, I looked forward to my time with her. Denise is an exceptional teacher. She teaches skills and pieces that go far beyond the highest ranks recognized by the state school exams. She teaches you skills that make you feel extremely confident in playing and performing. I would recommend Denise as a teacher to anyone. Whether you want to get a teacher for a child or for someone later in life; whether you want to take lessons as a hobby or as a serious student- Denise is the teacher for you. Nobody played music in my family and I stumbled upon the piano by chance. Music is how I express myself. I play piano, play guitar, sing, and write music. I owe all of my musical ability to Denise. If it were not for Denise’s direction I would never have had that gift. Regardless of whether you live in her area or an hour away, I recommend Denise as a teacher for anyone and everyone

My boys have been taking piano lessons from Lynne for almost 5 years now. Lynne is great with kids and is flexible in accommodating a lesson time that works with a family's busy schedule. Lynne is great at challenging kids to do more such as trying a song outside of their piano lesson book. We always enjoy the year end recital. Highly recommend Lynne!

Working with Aurelia is a dream! She's such a hands-on teacher and really knows how to communicate simple, yet extremely effective techniques. I've been taking lessons with different people for years, but I finally feel like I have a teacher that is able to explain healthy singing in a really tangible way!

I've had a life long dream to take voice lessons and I also had specific singing goals I wanted to achieve. I discussed them with Sheila and she tailored a great lesson program for me. Thanks to her, I have vastly improved my understanding of how to sing, greatly improved my performance and confidence and - I achieved every goal I set out to achieve (although I now will set more!) It's been challenging, fun, and satisfying. It's only been possible because of Sheilas's patience, professionalism and encouragement. I look forward to continuing to improve under her instruction!

Mia is a skilled professional Voice teacher. The only negative aspect, was that the fee was misrepresented. But we worked it out. Overall my son is very pleased with lessons.

Mr. Blackwell is an awesome teacher, and very gifted. My daughter looks forward to her weekly lessons. In a short few months of lessons you can hear the difference (control) in her voice. You will not be disappointed in the services of Blackwell's School of Music and Film.

About

I am a singer/actress who teaches voice lessons and can coach young actors who would like to pursue the arts. I am a graduate of the Boston Conservatory where I studied music, theatre and dance. My education gave me a great foundation for teaching. I also have a wide variety of repertoire and can help my students find the perfect songs for their voices. I have studied musical theatre, pop, country, jazz, opera and rock. I can also assist young actors in developing their skills, whether they want to try out for the school play, prepare for college auditions, or just want to try it out. As a performer, my career has taken me all over the world. Last year, I did a concert tour throughout Japan with the Tokyo Philharmonic. I have also worked for The Walt Disney Company and Royal Caribbean.

About

My students like the individualized plans that I work out with them.

About

I have a lot more passion for music than others, which I try to inspire in my students in the way I was inspired by my teachers. I'm also very committed to music and I work hard and care for each individual student.

About

I am into vocal production. It's not the song that makes the singer, but the singer makes the song. I have a full-scale studio to teach voice, piano, acting and performance. My name is Cathryn Kenzel. I have been teaching for 30 years and have had a successful singing career. Please check my website for my educational and professional background. I have many other professional teachers on staff.
