My husband based in Denver and I based in London organised our wedding over email with Constance. She were very helpful and made us feel calm with all the forward planning. Being our first wedding she gave us examples of ceremonies which were great. Our actually wedding turned out amazing, we hosted it at my husbands grandparent's garden. Even though our guests were late (luckily Constance were late due to traffic but communicated over phone with us) she managed to keep us gathered and calm in a moment of frenzy. We are both very pleased we hired Constance, she is charismatic, very friendly and supportive and has a great sense of humour which was needed in a moment when my husband and I tried to get our guests to sit down for our wedding. Our day were perfect and the ceremony was beautiful. Roberto and Rondell

A few years back, Reverend Pedro Martinez officiated my wedding. His customer service, dedication, and presentation was excellent. He made the wedding ceremony what it should be - nice and memorable. I would recommend using his services for any wedding. You will not get better service!

If you are looking for a caterer for any reason, stop your search here. Chef Brian is the greatest to work with! Dade County Food Group catered my 100 person wedding.... And HAMD MADE GNOCCHI for everyone. I believe Chef Carlos was up for many hours the night before rolling out the tiny gnocchi for my guests- now that's service! Cocktail hour was such a hit that my guests are still craving the chicken and waffles and bacon wrapped, goat cheese stuffed dates! (Ps- Please let Brian add bacon to your menu! They are bacon magicians). I had such a wonderful experience working with Brian and his entire team from the private food tasting, to his help with referrals, to my wedding day. Brian's staff was professional, looked great, was earlier than on time and even had everything cleaned and organized before they left. Now for Brian's wait staff and bartenders- my guests are STILL talking about the level or service they got! Usually people gush over the flowers, the food, or (blush) the bride! But my guests were most impressed with how wonderfully the staff served the food, tended the bar, cleaned up plates, and glasses never went empty! It started pouring after our cocktail hour, so Brian's staff physically moved one of the bars and all the alcohol/ drinks under the tent and kept pouring the bubbly. If there was an issue, I never knew about it. That's what you want on your wedding day- a caterer who serves amazing food and provides your guests with an amazing experience all while keeping you stress free! Thank you Brian, Carlos and team! You guys are my caterers for life !

I hired Dan for a small wedding at our house and I am so happy I did.Had a couple of options but Dan was to most communicative chef form the beginning on, he answered all my questions within minutes. When it came to his menu ideas I was super impressed,it was an all "white" theme wedding, so the menu had to all "white" as well. Not an easy task.... All I can say is that everything was amazing and outstanding....Dan is amazing, fun and easy to work with, the food was outstanding, his service perfect. I had really nothing else to do except of enjoying.Dan even came up with some wonderful ideas for decoration to surprise all of us. All I can say is WOW!!! When he left, my kitchen was spotless after a 4 course menu....unreal :-) Thanks again Dan for an outstanding job, you made Friday 13th and the wedding even more special as it already was. Will work for sure with you again the next time. Greetings form the German/Austrian/American Happy Crowd

We started out just looking for someone to offer catering services to our wedding, but we found so much more with Tasty Creations! Chef David and his wonderful wife, Margarita, went above and beyond in every capacity. From the very first sit down, we knew something good was cookin’. The food was absolutely delicious! We had more variety in flavors with our meal choices than we found anywhere else. This dynamic duo not only provided a stellar meal that is fancy, French-cuisine worthy, they also helped us smooth out all the extra details that made our day a tremendous success. Working with Chef and Margarita, we were able to brainstorm some wonderful ideas that really added a lot of value to our wedding. They made planning and preparing for the big day so much fun and when the day came, they made sure that everything was taken care of so all we had left to do was relax, remembers our vows, and enjoy the day. Thank you Chef and Marga! You made our day an absolute wonder! -Jolly Green & String Bean

We have been looking for months to find the right DJ for our international wedding. Mauricio nailed it. Having a multi cultural background himself he was able to connect 3 different regions of the world through his knowledge and love of music. It showed with the enthusiasm of or guests who did not want to leave the dance floor and raved about his performance. He is easy to work with, a good listener, communicator and 100% reliable.

Amazing experience working with Jose and Cynthia, great professionals with a strong work ethic and at the same time super fun to work with. We are a duet (musicians) and were sceptic about hiring an event or wedding photographer but this came out perfectly from the work flow to the final result. They gave us 200 outstanding pictures. I'll defenetly recommend them. Thanks guys!

My experience with SoFlo Main Events was a positive one. The company was fast to respond to whatever I asked for and desired. I initially hired SoFlo Main Events with regards to lighting for an outdoor reception I was having following a late afternoon wedding ceremony. My main concern was that there would not be enough lighting during the evening to take proper pictures. This company did a wonderful job! They had bistro lighting going from one palm tree to the other, along with up-lighting on the trees as well. The overall ambiance of the event was just right and romantic. I also had the honor of having SoFlo Main Events provide the DJ and sound services at the wedding. They provided a mike and high quality sound system for the beach. I could hear all the songs that were played for the individuals walking in before me, and mine very clearly. The elders in my family are quite conservative, and dancing did not take place at the reception, and somehow the DJ still made the evening eventful and fun with music and lighting... that's talent right there! Thank You SoFlo Main Events and Edward for making this such a memorable day for all my family, close friends, and us!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

  • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
  • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
  • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
  • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
  • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
  • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
  • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
  • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you find a good caterer?

Reviews, interviews and menu tastings will help you find the right catering choice for your big day. Start by screening possible wedding caterers based on past reviews. If a caterer you are interested in has a review that concerns you, ask them about it; how they respond will be very telling. Next, ask about their availability for your wedding date.

If the wedding caterer is available on your date, it’s time to talk about menus and prices. Be clear about what your maximum budget is find out what choices this will allow you. Caterers may custom-create a menu for your event, or they may have menu templates within different price ranges that can guide your decision. A clear budget gives the caterer clear parameters within which to work and offer creative suggestions. Schedule a menu tasting to confirm you love your wedding menu. Once you have a menu and date, and have paid a deposit to reserve the caterer’s services, confirm additional details including when the food will be delivered to the site, what kind of service will be provided, how many servers will be onsite and for how long, and who is responsible for setup and cleanup. The more specific your contract, the fewer worries you’ll have on your wedding day. Get more smart hiring tips here.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
