Bennett Teaching Studios and Piano Sales

    (17 reviews)

I am a professional musician who, until taking piano lessons with Scott Bennett, was self taught with a completely improper technique that I'd spent a lifetime developing. In a relatively short time, he's helped me to eliminate a lot of bad piano habits. I am now much better at reading music, and my playing has improved tremendously. I've tried taking lessons before at various stages in my career, but until now have never had a teacher that inspired me to continue the process for more than a couple of weeks….I've been taking lessons from Scott Bennett for nearly two years

Spreading the love of music to young children and adults alike. It is a true gift to have the ability to teach music. For those of us that know how to teach, It would be a complete waste to keep it all to our selves. That is why we can say as true music teachers, the most rewarding part of being a musician is seeing your student "get it". To us music teachers it feels as good as receiving cheers from a energetic audience. We also enjoy contributing to our culture. Music is a very important part of the way we communicate as a culture. In many ways music is like a picture, it speaks a thousand words and can tell you many things about the people of a particular culture.

  • Marisol Ibañez Piano Studio

    (8 reviews)

My name is Marisol Ibañez, and I am a classical pianist with over 15 years of experience teaching piano to children and adults of all levels. Playing the piano is not only an extremely rewarding experience, but also a skill that will tremendously enrich your life. Choosing the right teacher from the beginning is essential to set you in the correct path and to develop a proper technique without creating any bad habits that would be very difficult to get rid of later. That is why I have been studying for years, learning, and researching the better, more effective, and more efficient ways of dealing with piano technique. The way we place our hands at the piano, the way we move when playing the piano is a whole science that needs years of expert training. Not to mention the teaching methods that we choose, and the repertory that we give to our students. These are of vital importance to the learning curve that the student takes. Some methods will have students playing at a beginner level for years, and usually those students never have a real breakthrough that puts them on the next level; while other methods can really launch students and have them playing fairly quickly, real and more advanced repertory. In time, this kind of method can lead students to become a real pianists. The method that I work with is highly effective, and I have had great success in using it with my students. The third key ingredient to a successful musical education is teaching interpretation. This is what gives life to the music, it is the difference between just playing the notes and actually communicating with the listener. It is the key ingredient that transforms mere sounds into art. It is what makes an audience want to listen or turn around and leave. There are few piano teachers who really teach this. Most of them only teach how to play the notes because it takes so much more knowledge to be able to teach this art, and I am proud to say I am one of the few who actually teaches musicality to my students. In short, at the lessons my students learn everything from a classical piano technique, to reading music, and how to musically interpret a composition at a professional level using the right tools and the right method. Additionally, my students get weekly assignments of music theory that helps them better understand the basic blocks and structures that build what we call music. Finally, my students regularly participate in recitals and competitions where they perform and shine through their talents, and in recognized board examinations where they consummate their knowledge and receive certificates of achievement that accredit their completion of each piano level. Seeing the accomplishments of my students gives me great satisfaction. Every time I see a student has practiced hard during the week and as a result he or she comes next class proudly showing me what they have achieved, I feel a huge sense of satisfaction.

    C# Piano Studio

    (8 reviews)

I take special pride in working with the very young. Influenced by a Japanese method, I work with the parent as well, and together we set up the foundations for the proper technical development of the child. Working with the body and not against it, the progress of the child is remarkable. I also work with beginner students that are older or with students that already have some experience. My studio is open to all age groups.. I will happily provide more information about my programs upon request. The piano was my life time passion, and I've devoted myself to it. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to share what I've learned with all that love the piano as much as i did. Teaching in ways that open doors for my students to tap into their potential, and enjoying their progress is the strongest teacher motivator I know. The closeness with my students and families is also very rewarding.

    Dade Music Academy

    (8 reviews)

Our mission is to nurture the finest young professional performing musicians and fulfill the students' own talent as performers. What is really unique about teaching music is to see how students develop during time. Every semester we have the students with no knowledge in music and the way they develop and perform in our concert is their best retribution to our teachings.
