Jeff was amazing. I needed my former rental carpet cleaned before my lease was up and he did an outstanding job. He took the time to explain the equipment and supplies that he uses, and really took the time to clean the carpets. I would definitely use his services again and recommend him to anyone I know that is looking for their carpets to be cleaned (and more: duct cleaning, tile/grout cleaning, etc.). Thanks for the beautiful job Jeff! Look forward to referring you to others and doing business again!

I recently contact Apex to get an estimate for cleaning our tile floors. Alicia was exceptionally helpful. She took the extra time to explain the process that would be used and answer all the questions that I had. Although I am not ready to clean the floors right now I will certainly use Apex when I get ready.

Ben was prompt and on time. He let me know the whole process in which he would be using to make my tile beautiful. I babysat my sons two dogs and all they did was pee and stain my huge living room and kitchen. Ben went the extra mile to spend lots of extra time to work on those hard stained places. All I can say is if there is a jam up tile cleaner in our area ? Simply the Best is the call you want to make not to mention his prices were as much as 1/3rd cheaper than other quotes. I just felt bad I did not have enough cash to leave him a much greater tip. Remember when it comes to tile cleaning, there's only one man to call. Call Ben with Simply the Best. Cause that's the results

Maid service did good. 3 cleaners cleaned my home in approximately 4 hours. There was a language barrier, but whatever I showed them, they cleaned, so that was good. They definitely worked hard. I was most impressed with Calvert himself, He came to my home and cleaned my carpet and scrubbed my tile, by himself, for 7 hours. And charged an amazing price! The carpet looks good, the tile looks good, the house looks good - even our real estate listing agent says the house looked good! Calvert was available by phone any time I called and was always friendly and helpful. Thank you!!!!

It was a good job, we arrived at the scheduled time and the person was well caring and capricious in the service. Left the house smelling, with sabote in the bathrooms, towels organized. They cleared the doors, every company I hired none did. I recommend

Great Job! I was very pleased. Were here right on time, and did a very thorough job. Couldn't believe how good these carpets looked. This is a big house, and I thought the price I was given was very reasonable. I would certainly use Precision Carpet Cleaning again.

I had then come and clean my home last week. They came early, ready to work. They worked hard and steady without any break. They cleaned more than I expected. My home was dusty with lots of tile and they did a wonderful job. I would recommend Confidence Cleaning for other clients and would use them again.

Even though there was a mix up and only 1 person came instead of 2, Kari made sure this was addressed immediately and sent follow up cleaners at our convenience today! I highly recommend Maid N Style! It was a pleasure having them and I look forward to using them again! It's nice to deal with people who care about their customer's in the robotic age! We had a seriously ignored hard clean and they went above and beyond to help get it back in acceptable shape! Lots of windows and 2760 sf 18" tile all cleaned wonderfully! They really want to earn your business and in my book you can't go wrong with Maid N Style! Luv them!

Extra Care Carpet &Tile Cleaners was on time at the house and presented a gentleman. He explained the way the work was going to be done and the care to take after the job. It was a carpet cleaning, I had to call the company couple days later to thank them again. Keep up the good work.

David steam cleaned the carpet and tile in our new home in Port Orange, FL last week before we moved our furniture in. The team arrived on time and provided me with an exact quote for the tile cleaning based on the actual square footage that we had. They also gave me the $99 5-room special for the carpet. They did a great job and even switched up the work in progress to get the laundry room floor steam cleaned prior to the appliance delivery that was also scheduled during the same time slot. The team was professional and the work was a great value for the cost.

Alan and his wife did a great job. I have no complaints. He was neat, on time, and the results were wonderful. We have travertine floors and he made them look like new. It was a four day job.. Well worth the expense of having them sanded and polished.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
