I very highly recommend Your Wedding Your Way for your upcoming wedding. I knew very little about the process here in Georgia and was hoping I would be lucky enough to find an officiant who was both knowledgeable and capable. I was also hoping they would be experienced and professional enough to guide me from beginning to end. Patty Burgess of YWYW was all that and lots more! She offered a wide selection of wedding vows to choose from that I was able to customize or rewrite how I saw fit. She informed us of the marriage license process and came to speak to us face-to-face 3 separate times, including the final rehearsal. Her suggestions were spectacular and we adopted each one into our wedding. We had hoped for a good wedding, but Patty Burgess helped provide us with a FANTASTIC WEDDING! You will not regret hiring Your Wedding You Way.

Ernie is a true professional. He kept the flow of the reception and energy of the evening exactly where it needed to be. He was a pleasure to work with and kept the process simple. We've recommended him to several friends and have had many of our wedding guests ask for his info. If you're looking for the highest level of professionalism and value in the business, look no further.

I chose Adrienne and Envy Makeovers for our November 8 wedding and couldn't be happier! I hired Envy Makeovers for my hair and makeup and hair for my five bridesmaids. They are warm, professional and super easy to work with! From the trial and second trial (we were trying a new look) to the actual day, Adrienne was a pleasure to work with. She was on time, open to what I wanted and very helpful in guiding me since I don't know much about hair or makeup, My wedding day was hectic, as we were all "buzzing around" taking care of last minute details, and both of our families and all of my bridesmaids were in and out. She and her partner were calm and cool under pressure and gave us all just what I wanted. They also worked with each of my bridesmaids' hair types and preferences to give me the look i wanted but still personalize it to each of my friends' styles and needs. I can't say enough. Chris (my husband) was thrilled with how I looked head-to-toe that day, and Envy had a lot to do with that. My hair was gorgeous and stayed put, as did my makeup. I will be calling again for my next event, and will strongly recommend Envy Makeovers to all of my friends that are getting married next year!

It was a great experience working with Randy for my wedding. He exceeded my expectations and the video was beautiful. He is a quiet person and remained unobtrusive the entire event. Half the time, I didn't know he was there. Would recommend.

My previous photographer (a friend...) bailed on us two weeks before the wedding. So immediately I went on Thumbtack and here comes David to save the day! And what a blessing it was. From the first phone call, he was personable and understanding. His portfolio is outstanding. He and Jill were out of the way, yet helpful in making our NYE wedding magical! Here’s some photographic proof of that magic ;)

DJ Old Soul, or Monte, is a first class, off the chain DJ, and I'm so happy he was at our wedding to be our "Ambassador of Sway"!!!!!! He was professional in the set up stages, that was the first reason I decided to use his services! He used all the songs I requested, he read my crowd to a tee, he responded to special requests, and I could not, and did not sit down all night, along with so many of my guests! He was set up on time, poised and ready for action! He is very reasonable, and our wedding would never have been the successful event it was without him! His music choices for our fireworks finale was spot on! Loved his work!!!!

Long story short, HIRE HIM! DJ ToneyStone did an amazing job at my wedding reception a few Saturdays ago. He’s professional, experienced, and works so well with you (and the crowd) before and during your event. Seriously, you can count on DJ ToneyStone to get the job done and done with excellence! For those who want to read more, here’s it all: Literally about two weeks before the wedding, my (now) husband and I decided we needed to get a DJ. We were originally going to just go with a Spotify playlist, but we realized we really wanted our guests to be engaged and entertained before and during the reception (especially as they’re waiting while we’re taking pictures with the wedding party and family). I cannot say this enough, but this investment was seriously the best investment ever! Granted, my dj-ing knowledge is extremely limited, and I’ve never had to secure a DJ before. It’s one of those things where I’m so used to going to events/receptions, and a DJ is just there doing their thing. But when you’re the one in charge of securing one, you of course want to make sure you’ve got the right person! So, I naturally asked alot of questions. DJ ToneyStone was very friendly, helpful, and went out of his way to assure me that he’s got it all covered. And for me, that was comforting to hear, especially as I was taking care of other last-minute details for the wedding. DJ ToneyStone was very prompt from the get-go with all our communications. The contracting process was very simple. He spells everything out and makes sure you’re both on the same page. And his rate is VERY fair. On the wedding day, he showed up on time, as contracted, and totally rocked the reception! My husband and I were still taking pictures when we heard music start up in the reception area. For a split second, we were just dancing and rocking back and forth. Then it hit us, “Hey, that’s our DJ! This is OUR party with the cool music!” It was then we KNEW this was definitely one of the best decisions made. We were just so proud! Adaptability-wise, DJ ToneyStone’s gotcha! Before the wedding day, we confirmed songs my husband and I definitely wanted played (i.e. first dance, groom/son dance, etc.) and also just the theme/style of music for the reception. Right after the wedding ceremony, we coordinated with him last-minute to announce the wedding party and introduce us for the first time at the reception. And he totally did not disappoint. There were some moments at the reception where we just needed some time filled or announcements made. All we needed to do was just run it by DJ ToneyStone, and he took care of it like the pro he is! Also, we totally didn't think about music for certain things like cake-cutting or bouquet/garter toss. No worries, though. He totally had it! Trust me, DJ ToneyStone is THE. GUY. for your dj-ing needs. He can do it all and then some. I promise you, his experience is evident; and throughout the process, I just had this sense of calm and peace. That’s because I just knew I made the right decision! He’s good people, and you can tell he’s just wanting to make sure everybody’s having a good time.

The Sacred Journey Services l, LLC provided us with a beautiful wedding ceremony in a very short amount of time. They touched our hearts by pinpointing our core values and highlighting them in our ceremony. They were also able to keep us calm throughout the unexpected circumstances that arose on our special day. We would definitely recommend them to family, friends, and associates.

It was a great pleasure to work with Milona for our small intimate wedding. Communication with her was such a breeze and she went above and beyond to accommodate us as we planned our civil ceremony. She was prompt, very professional and very personable. It was apparent that she loves photography! She was amazing at directing us to capture those intimate moments but was also able to capture many candid moments. She was able to provide some early previews the day after and we were immediately in love. Upon seeing all the other photos we knew we made the right decision. I can't say enough good things about working with Milona, she did an amazing job and we cant thank her enough! We know who to call for our next mayor event!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
