Swadeep is hands down the best math coach I've ever met. He helped me raise my ACT math score from 21 to a 28 and it's still rising! Because of him I'm on track to get my first A in a math class since middle school.

Thank you Accel Math! I don't know what my daughters would have done without your support this year. I can't thank you enough ! I saw first hand, how you were able to connect with my daughters and help them understand the concepts of what they were learning. My oldest has been accepted into Whitney Young High School!!!! Accel Math had a big role in her acceptance. Schnell Lambert

Bertina provided tutoring I both math and executive functioning for my middle school aged son who is autistic. With her help, he was able to institute a homework schedule he could stick to on his own, and we no longer had a battle every night. Bertina is kind, thoughtful and communicative, but is also able to hold ground with a disruptive kid.

We hired Jeff about 3 weeks prior to the ACT to help our son prepare. Jeff always came prepared with practice tests and reviewed several subject areas. Jeff relates well and understands high school age students. He helped our son focus on areas that would provide the greatest impact Our son's ACT score increased 3 points. We were very pleased with Jeff and highly recommend him.

Renjie and I worked together over the course of two months in preparation for a GRE test. We had long sessions (3 hours) each time, but Renjie was focused and prepared and all the breaks we took were on my account. I took two Statistics courses in university, but aside from this hadn't taken any math classes since high school, so I focused all of my hours with Renjie in math. He has all of the hard skills that a good teacher/tutor needs: he has a deep knowledge of math and used repertoire of teaching strategies to help me learn. The teaching and learning strategies Renjie shared with me in math make it so I'm confident in saying I know he has the same skills for verbal reasoning in the GRE (specially) or vocabulary more generally. More than this, Renjie is kind, understanding, friendly, and easy to connect with. Both Renjie and I had traveled and worked abroad for a number of years and so it was fun to share stories in between problem solving. I got accepted into my graduate program of choice, got a full scholarship and a stipend to be a Graduate Teaching Assistance. It was a pleasure working with Renjie and I would recommend him to any who have an interest in improving their scores on a variety on tests, or to improve their performance in school at all levels.

I contacted Reetika to help my daughter with SAT Math. I was very pleased with her but more importantly, my daughter was very pleased with her! Reetika was very knowledgeable on the various areas of Math covered in the SAT and she gave my daughter concrete tips on how to tackle problems and how to use strategies to take the exam. My daughter improved her Math score considerably after 5 sessions with Reetika! She was friendly and courteous and very responsive every time I sent her an email. I would highly recommend her.

I practiced ACT material with Andrew for a couple weeks and improved my score by 4 points. He was on time for our lesson every week, and always knew how to answer my questions. During each lesson, we took a practice test together, and no matter which test we were working on (science, math, english), Andrew was very knowledgeable on the subject. He was also very understanding when I got questions wrong and worked hard to make sure I grasped every concept. Overall, my experience with Andrew was very beneficial, and I would recommend him to anyone

The plan is for Jodi to meet with my son 1x/week to review various middle school math concepts and homework challenges. She is prompt, responsive, and has shared different methods with my son for resolving problems. She has provided tools for him to use to improve his knowledge of factors. Her purpose at this time to keep him on task with 6th grade math, and to provide additional support where needed. She is willing to stay in communication with his teacher to ensure any concepts he may have challenges with are addressed. So far, our experience with her is great! We are so pleased and are recommending her services to others in our area.

I came to Mathnasium during my junior year of High School to help study for a Pre-calc final. I met with Alon. The one-on-one tutoring was always helpful especially before exams. I continued coming in for the next year and a half 1-2 times roughly every week or every other week. When I went to College I would even come home before a final or during the summer to continue with lessons. Despite the fact that I was out of High School, Alon stuck with me all the way through Linear Algebra/Matrix Theory! It never mattered what I was learning, there is no problem too tough for Mathnasium to tackle. I was able to find help at any and all points in my math education.

How do you find a good math tutor?

Math home tutors are available for any age student, from elementary school to postgraduate studies. Rates will vary based on the tutor’s background, education and experience. To find a good math tutor, first determine your learning goals. Do you need help understanding and completing homework assignments? Are you preparing for the math portion of a standardized test? Next, read reviews from current and former students. Find someone with proven success helping students achieve their goals. If you want help on an ongoing basis, decide what your budget is and identify the tutors who fall within your range. Ask if there are additional fees for travel, as some home math tutors include travel costs in their rates and others charge extra. Ask about session length and the tutor’s teaching style, and whether they also offer online sessions or group sessions. Finally, schedule a single session with each of the math tutors you think are best to see who is the best fit.

How much do math tutors cost?

Math is a subject that’s challenging for many students. Fortunately, home math tutors can help students excel in math by working with them in focused one-on-one tutoring sessions. The cost for math tutors varies based on the type of math, the expertise and experience of the tutor, and geographic location. Pricing may range between $40 and $100 per hour, depending on the math subject. As a rule, the more complex the subject matter, the more the math tutor will charge for the lessons. The cost reflects the math tutor’s advanced studies and the work required for them to be able to teach on the subject. Frequency can also affect costs. Students can buy packages of lessons for a lower cost per session than buying individually. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a geometry home tutor is $50-$60. The national average rate for an algebra home tutor is $40-$50 per hour. For generalized math tutors, the national average ranges between $40 and $50 per hour. More intensive standardized test prep studies and math tutoring average $70-$100 per hour.

How much does home tutoring cost?

Investing in home tutoring is an investment in your child’s future. Home tutors work one on one with your child to address their challenge areas and provide room for intellectual growth that may not happen in a busy classroom. The cost of home tutors depends on multiple factors including where you live, the tutor’s background and education, the subject matter, and how often the tutor comes. Test prep home tutoring is typically more expensive than single-subject tutoring. Here are some examples of average tutoring costs:

        • National average cost for an algebra home tutor: $40-$50 per hour.
        • National average cost for a French home tutor: $30-$50 per hour.
        • National average cost for a geometry home tutor: $50-$60 per hour.
        • National average cost for a math home tutor: $40-$50 per hour.
        • National average cost for reading and writing home tutor: $40-$60 per hour.
