David Eickstaedt has a great depth of knowledge and experience on singing. He is a fun teacher who is willing to work with you to find convienient times for you to take lessons and he is willing to work with you on what you want to get out singing. I consider myself an adult 'beginner' student because even though I took lessons for a year or two in my pre-teens, I've long since forgotten how to play the piano or read music. Recently I found Jon Novi through the Thumbtack website. I was thrilled to learn that, right from the start, he would teach me the songs I was most interested in playing – bypassing the uninspiring, rigid, standard training lessons. In fact, we spent our very first session on a song that I've been wanting to play for years, and I enjoyed every minute of it! Jon has the qualities of a great teacher – he's very enthusiastic, positive, and encouraging, as well as a very skilled musician. Best of all, he takes the time to listen to the student, guiding and motivating them to reach their goals.

My daughter started piano lessons with Stacey just a month ago but she is so excited every week to go. We have been very happy with how Stacey has progressed her - continually adding more difficult pieces to work on to see what she can do. This is our first experience w music lessons of any type and we are really happy with Stacey De & Co! Even my son, who never wants to try anything new, has started asking about taking drum lessons there. We couldn't be happier :)

I chose Ms. Allenfort as my instructor because of her vast experience as a professional pianist, teacher and performer. She has a wealth of knowledge to share with her students. After only three months of lessons I am very happy with my progress and the new skills I have obtained!

Matt is a wonderful teacher! He takes time to learn what kind of musician YOU want to be and what YOUR musical tastes are and develops your lesson plans from there. Some of the things that he has taught me have stuck with me years after his lessons. Highly recommend.

I searched Craigslist for instructors in Orange County who teach "Moeller", a specialized method to maximize energy efficiency while drumming. David O and I spoke briefly on the phone about my expectations. I have taken just 5 lessons in total, and so far, my goals have been met or exceeded, including a huge breakthrough on my speed and technique (I'm a technical metal drummer). I can't express how to the point and precise David is. He has learned from some of the best drummers in the business and I feel honored to have the opportunity to work with him and improve my craft. Thank you David!!

Michele is wonderful in all aspects of her service. She is extremely patient and encouraging. She truly knows her craft and this is very easy to see when you are with her. She has a balanced approach to learning how to not only use your voice but your ears as well. It's been a pleasure working with her. I would recommend Michele to anyone that is interested in vocal lessons.

I’m having a blast with Paul. He’s an excellent teacher and his methods are improving my guitar skills. I went in as an intermediate guitar player and through the lessons I can already feel advancement. Paul’s lessons are understandable and easy to follow. Jamming out with Paul is the best and I can’t wait to attend my next lesson. I highly recommend Paul to anyone looking to learn how to play the guitar.

I never realized learning to play guitar would be so much fun! Dan is the best. Not only does he explain the information in a way that is easy to understand, he makes learning it fun! I still look forward to lessons after nearly nine months and I can't imagine a reason I would ever stop taking them here.

I wanted to arrange guitar lessons for my daughter as a Christmas present. The experience was great especially since we live hundreds of miles away from each other. I was a first time user of Thumbtack and I will definitely use it again.

I have two kids, and between work and their 5 activities, Traveling Music Lessons is the only way my kids would be able to participate and become educated in music. This service is awesome - they come to you for about the same price as a studio where you go to them.

Jill is a true professional. My daughter went in with very little experience. She has been taking lessons for the past few months and she has help build her confidence. Jill's methods helped with breathing techniques and range. She is very patient and my daughter couldn't be happier.

I liked to apologize. I mistakenly messaged you by mistake. I do appreciate your quick response. I would love to take music lessons but I am no longer in the state. I have a granddaughter now and I left her my piano she’ll be 5 next April. I don’t know when like them to begin so just let me know and and I’ll contact you when you give us the green light. Thank you again so much.

I first took vocal lessons with Jill back in 1994. Fast forward to 2017 when I again needed a vocal coach, and I knew I had to seek her out, and was lucky to find her again. She's got amazing intuition, she instantly knows what you need in order to improve and succinctly gives you the tools and the confidence to achieve those improvements. Despite what many believe, anyone with the right training can sing, and sing well. You need the right vocal coach. You need Jill Gabrielle.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I become CPR and first aid certified?

You can earn CPR training and receive first aid certification in a number of ways. Choose an online course to learn the materials remotely and then find a testing location to complete the certification process with an in-person demonstration of your knowledge and skills. Encourage your workplace to host a first aid and CPR training so employees can learn what to do in case of a workplace emergency and how to respond with lifesaving techniques. You may also be able to take a CPR or first aid class in your community. A basic CPR training may run four to five hours. After receiving CPR training, you’ll know how to respond if an adult or a child goes into cardiac arrest or stops breathing. You’ll learn how to use chest compressions to keep blood pumping to a person’s organs, which can keep them alive until an emergency responder can arrive. First aid and CPR training can also include education about how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

What is CPR training?

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (better known as CPR) is a lifesaving manual technique that pumps oxygenated blood back into the body’s organs if someone’s heart or breathing has stopped. A variety of CPR training is available to community members, employees and healthcare providers. CPR training may last two to five hours or more, depending on the content and the target audience. During the training, students will learn how to recognize and respond to an emergency situation. There are different CPR techniques for adults and children, but with both you will learn how to determine whether the person is conscious before administering chest compression. During the training you’ll learn chest compression techniques for adults and different techniques for children between the ages of 1 and 8. Students learn how to properly administer chest compressions, when the technique is appropriate and when it is not, and how long you must perform rescue measures. Students also learn what an automatic external defibrillator (AED) is and how to use it if necessary to shock a patient before administering CPR chest compressions.

What does a Spanish tutor do?

The goal of a Spanish tutor is to help students improve their Spanish reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation skills. The tutor’s approaches may vary, depending on whether the instruction is individual or a group class. Many Spanish tutors practice immersion — meaning they will speak only Spanish with their pupils. For students with little to no Spanish experience, the Spanish tutor may use a mix of Spanish and English to accustom their students to speaking the language.

A Spanish tutor can offer a wide range of services to their students. For students currently enrolled in a Spanish class through their middle school or high school, a Spanish tutor can help them with homework and language practice, as well as expanding their understanding of their current school curriculum. For adults, Spanish tutors will have different approaches based on that student’s need. Academics and those seeking high-level professional development for their career will often have more intensive and targeted lessons, drills, and interactive speaking tests. For adults who wish to learn conversational Spanish for fun or for travel, lessons may revolve around learning commonly used phrases and practicing speaking in relaxed settings.

What is first aid training?

With first aid training, you may be able to help save a life. First aid training can teach people who are not medical professionals how to help a sick or injured person in crisis before an ambulance arrives on the scene. Most commonly, first aid training helps teach you how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

First aid training can teach you how to respond in a variety of emergency situations, including:

  • Asthma attack
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Burns
  • Choking
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • External bleeding
  • Heart attack
  • Poisoning
  • Neck, head or back injury
  • Stroke
  • Seizure

First aid training classes may be offered by professionals who are affiliated with the Red Cross, which offers online, in-person, and blended training classes. First aid classes are also often offered through local recreation centers, city services, schools, hospitals and private companies.

What can you do with a first aid certificate?

People with a first aid certificate are trained to respond quickly and appropriately in life-threatening situations. Although a first aid certificate alone isn’t enough to secure a job, it can make you more attractive to certain types of potential employers. When you have a first aid certificate, you’ve proved that you know how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and handle emergency situations like choking, heavy bleeding, a heart attack or stroke, or anaphylaxis. Most parents prefer babysitters and lifeguards with first aid certification. Many professionals, especially those who work with children, are required to have first aid training, including teachers, coaches, counselors and therapists, firefighters, and social workers. In addition to adult and pediatric first aid plus CPR and AED courses, you can take first aid training specifically designed for babysitting and child care, for health care settings, and for swimming and water safety situations..
