Wedding Planner Full Service I couldn't have better things to say about working with Rick and Special Occasion Events . We booked a full wedding planning package and MC. And Throughout the planning process, Valerie and Rick were attentive, organized and resourceful. Valerie helped to alleviate any additional stress leading up to the wedding by providing helpful tips and resources that kept me and my husband on track for our big day. She made the wedding planning process so much better. She went out of her way to accommodate us in many occasion . She make sure we were happy with every decision we made about our vendors and work professionally with every vendor. And on our rehearsal day and made sure all of our attendants (and little ones!) knew exactly what they were doing, and made it fun and enjoyable throughout. On our wedding day, I knew I had absolutely nothing to stress about because Valeri and Rick were on it. Every little detail, every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for a better planner and MC and am so grateful that we picked Special Occasion Events to help us throughout our wedding planning. I would recommend Special Occasion Events to absolutely anyone!

Vibrant Moments is absolutely divine! As I began my quest to find a planner, I wanted to find a person who could execute my vision with ease, passion, and undeniable professionalism. Above all, I wanted chemistry ! My desire was to find a person of robust experience and a distinct ability to be in my head , and my heart, when it came down to decision making .Shay Gordon and her team over delivered! They are nothing short of MAGICAL!!! The women of Vibrant Moments will blow you away, period .My experience turned out to be quite unique.I didn't get married.Weeks before the wedding, my fiancé and I called it off.I bet you were not expecting that? Shay and her team came through like a storm and helped me handle contracts, payments and everything else that comes with a wedding that doesn't happen .She helped me mend unfinished business with vendors and played a critical role in helping me mend a broken heart. Its easy to review a company where everything goes to plan. What happens in moments of controversy ? That's when true professionals show up and make life easy ! Shay, I am forever grateful to you and Bri. .You are the ultimate wedding planner and I look forward to working with again ! Wink !

Jessica did a great job with our day of wedding preparation. She was able to take what we envisioned for our center pieces, sweet table and guest book table; and bring them to life. She was a huge help because it took a lot of stress off our families since we didn't have to worry about getting our hall set up the day of the wedding.

Gordon from MajorMusiq Entertainment DJed my wedding in July 2013 - and we still have folks asking for his info so they can use him for their events as well! Having the perfect DJ was a HIGH priority for me and my husband - and Gordon did not disappoint. Not only was he extremely attentive to our music requests, but he also sprinkled in his own creative ideas throughout the night - some I never would have thought of myself - which truly helped make the whole wedding memorable. Gordon also was able to easily navigate the challenges of working at a venue (Pazzo's 311) that didn't have its own speaker system, and flawlessly executed smooth transitions/narration throughout the night. Plus, the icing on the cake: his services happened to be extremely affordable compared to other vendors in the area. Would definitely recommend his services!

I had a great time working with Dana for my July 2017 wedding at Salvage One and would highly recommend her as a day-of coordinator. Since she worked at Salvage One, she knew the venue well and knew what would work and what wouldn't. She helped me fine tune the details for the day-of activities and helped set up all my DIY decor. She made sure everything ran smoothly the day of so that my family or I wouldn't have to worry about a thing. I was able to relax and enjoy my wedding. Thanks, Dana!

    G. David did a fantastic job officiating our wedding in September. My husband and I wanted a more intimate wedding with someone we knew to officiate, and my Godfather, G. David, was the perfect choice. It was his first time officiating, but you would never know it! He was professional, extremely thorough in putting together the ceremony, and really listened to what my husband and I wanted in our wedding ceremony. We only had one face-to-face "business" meeting before the big day, yet everything went very smoothly. I would highly recommend G. David for a special wedding ceremony tailored to your unique wedding vision!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

    • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
    • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
    • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
    • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
