My job decided to put me in charge of catering our fall employee appreciation event. I wasnât even sure where to start since I was not familiar with any caterers in the Montgomery County area. So I decided to go to the trusty internet to start my search. I came across thumbtack which is a great site by the way. You basically enter what you are looking for and like magic you start to receive quotes from different caterers in your area. Chef Kevin Reed was very prompt with his response and also included a sample menu with his quote which I thought was excellent. We conversed over email for a while and I was convinced this was the man for the job. I also was adamant about supporting a local small black business. The day of the event, He arrived on time along with his help. I told him what our theme would be and he nailed the set up perfectly. A beautiful fall theme was laid out in our employee lounge right before my eyes. The Chef and his staff were very personable and pleasant to work with. The food was hot, very good and healthy. My coworkers were very impressed with the food and service. I would definitely recommend his services. Hopefully we will be working together again soon on our company Holiday event. We have over 180 employees here and he was able to provide plenty of food and we had lots of leftovers. Kevin is top notch. Highly recommended.

Well well well, I'm not sure where to begin. Chef Serge is FABULOUS! His food is phenomenal and he is very creative with his menu. I had such a hard time narrowing down my selection. His personality is upbeat, lively and FUN! And all while cooking amazing food! I emphatically recommend Chef Serge to anyone looking for a CHEF, a cook, a caterer, anything you can use him for, do it! He also brought an assistant who was equally as pleasant and amazing. Working with EA was amazing... from start to finish. Their responsiveness, their professionalism and their vision--had me from day one. From the time of first contact, Shavonna calmed me and reassured me that EA could turn my vision into a reality. We hired EA for event design--and they did just that! Every picture I sent and every idea I conveyed was implemented to the fullest extent. EA received kudos from my venue and my wedding planner for their efficient manner for getting the job done, as well as the exquisite design details. When my new hubby and I were introduced, as we walked into the ballroom, I literally cried. As a bride, planning for months, you can never imagine just HOW it will all pull together--your vision, your ideas, your dreams--that makes you so very nervous. As we walked through the crowd to start our first dance, I remember thinking "it is literally dead-on...they nailed my vision dead-on..." I remember telling Shavonna prior that I couldn't imagine how all of my ideas would pull together--couldn't envision it... her response was "leave it to her--that was EA's job, that's why I hired them...so I could remove that concern off my plate" Once again...dead-on.... From the lanterns, to the Eiffel tower feather centerpieces, to the gorgeous linens to the spectacular feather bouquets/boutonnieres/corsages....I am forever grateful.... Many people tell you to prepare for something not to go right, or for something not to be perfect on your wedding day. However, I can honestly say, hiring EA will prove everyone wrong...your day will be amazing--far beyond what you ever dreamt possible--they will meet AND exceed your expectations! Everything about our experience with Sandra and her staff was superb. We had a 50th wedding anniversary buffet dinner with a Hawaiian theme for 26 family and friends. Her creativity, responsiveness and attention to detail was evident in all phases of the day and evening. Our guests raved about the menu and the ladies who prepared and served the meal. When they left everything was cleaned up superbly. We highly recommend Creative Visions !
Best value you could get in a wedding catering company! Quick basic info on my wedding since yours might be different: Late May wedding in Maryland, 7-hour reception with cocktail hour and dinner, approx. 100 guests, Manor, garden & tented reception setting, buffet dinner including a mix of food and drinks representing the cultures of the bride & groom (salvadoran, thai, new orleans, baltimore). Just two days after our wedding day I am feeling so good about the decision we made in booking Top of the City Catering. Maribel and her team were absolutely fantastic and we received soooo many compliments on our food, desserts, and cocktails, which were all provided by Top of the City. They had also done a great job of setting up décor for the guest tables, around the venue, and for the buffet and bar areas. In addition, the service throughout the day and night was phenomenal and we (bride & groom) always felt taken care of. For planning, we wanted a rustic, elegant feeling and they did a great job of presenting us ideas that were aligned with our vision. Top of the City Catering is a smaller catering business, but that does not make it any less in quality. When we were first looking into Top of the City I was a little leery because it was much more affordable and it usually is said, "You get what you pay for," but in this case that was NOT true at all. Maribel and her team are very responsive in communication, are very open and welcoming to your ideas and direction, and will always give suggestions from their expertise but still respect your wishes should you want something different. I really hope that Top of the City will gain momentum in growing its business and gaining the respect it deserves. Don't let the size of the company distract you from the amazing service, quality of food, flexibility, and affordable price you will get from Top of the City catering. Key Ingredients did the catering for my son's wedding. Not only was the food delicious, but Carla and Javier are so accommodating and easy to work with! In the last couple of weeks we decided to change from buffet style to family style, I called Carla and no problem. Two days before the wedding the bride and groom decided that they would like to offer lemonade to the guests at the ceremony, again I called Carla and again no problem plus no additional charge. They even took food to the bride and groom before the wedding during the long photo shoot with the photographer. I would use them again in a minute! Thanks for everything Carla and Javier.
Epicurean catered our office Christmas party for 2016 and the service and the food were both outstanding! The caterer arrived before the event was scheduled to begin and set up the food and by the time we were ready to eat, the food was piping hot and very delicious. There was also enough for seconds and thirds (if needed). Our office staff was very pleased and everyone enjoyed the delicious food. She also brought a complimentary cheesecake, even though dessert was not included on the menu!

We had non traditional, small wedding on a private community beach. It was a crab feast but in addition we wanted to have picnic style food. Everyone complimented on how good the food was and the caterers were very accommodating. It was a buffer style and we, the bride and groom were brought our plates of food and the caterer came over and offered to cut our wedding cake for our guests. The price was very reasonable for the variety of foods and the quality.
Sweet Soul provided an amazing culinary experience for myself and attendees at a business function. The food was delicious, fresh and well prepared. The owner, Aurelia, was very polite and attentive to all aspects of the affair. FroZenYo catered an event at our elementary school as part of Teacher Appreciation and the entire process was easy and enjoyable. The booking and pre-event process was simple and everyone loved the yogurt and toppings selection. We will definitely be using FroZenYo for our events.
Ordered for food do 35 post-wedding brunch. Menu was organized and easy to pick from. Jaclyn was responsive and helpful with sizing food plates and making recommendations. Everyone was super thrilled to see the amount of food (had some leftovers) and everything was tasty. Would definitely order again.
Chef Giovanni is not only a creative and dynamic chef, he is also a warm person. I was so relieved to welcome Chef Giovanni at my house for my dinner party, he put me at ease with his calm demeanor and ideas. We had been exchanging emails and texts the week prior to the event, he was responsive unlike other chefs I had worked with in the past. Chef had also been tasked to provide a meal for a pescatarian, gluten-free guest, and a no shell fish guest. When Chef arrived, he took several inexpensive bouquets from Trader Joes and transformed them into stunning centerpieces for my dining room table. The entire dining room morphed into a chic bistro that looked like it should have been in the south of France as opposed to Maryland. Once the first guest arrived, the smell of bouillabaisse was permeating the house and the guests were excited by the aroma but also the drinks and amuse-boushe Chef had prepared for their arrival. The amuse-boushe was phyllo dough stuffed with spiced lamb. It was crunchy on the outside with flavors of raisins, spices and lamb on the inside. This was an exceptional way to start our culinary journey! Once the guests were seated and wine was poured, the appetizer was served. It was not my favorite combination of flavors but others seem to enjoy it. Next the main course, the bouillabaisse was served. I was stunned to see how beautiful the bouillabaisse was prepared; with cilantro and lime on top and was chocked full of lobster, crab, scallops, fish. My guests were asking him for the recipe for the rue and the steps to making such an intriguing meal. The dessert was also nicely done, my guests really enjoyed the presentation and the taste. Chef Giovanni talked about what he made, helped serve the guests. He also helped pour the wine and kept the night flowing. Chef Giovanni also left me with a spotless kitchen which was the perfect end to a perfect night. I am a customer very happy with a first-time experiment with inviting a chef into my home. I think it is a great way to entertain without breaking the bank. When you consider how much time and preparation that goes into an evening like this, I feel that Chef Giovanni provides quality ingredients and exceptional service for a reasonable rate.
Vanity Fair events exceeded my expectations, I have planned hundreds of successful events on my own and was certain I did not need to hire a wedding planner for my daughter's wedding. We met Theresa and I took her number just to be polite. I ended up asking her for advice and little by little and began to realize how much I needed her services. She and her crew were over the top amazing and very inexpensive. Her knowledge and advice actually saved me a lot of money! Our families were able to fully enjoy the wedding without worry on that very special day! Vanity Fair Events will be my first phone call for my next event large or small!

We hired Minute Events Catering for our wedding. From the beginning we met with Chantel to get a vision of what we wanted and how they can help. We decided on a couple brunch options and unlimited mimosas. Chantel provided her advice and past experiences to help us make some last minute changes, that ended up saving us some money at the end. Our tasting with Chef Steve was delicious the chicken and waffles was perfect, and the sweet tea was to die for. With us coordinating this out of town, he went out of his way to make sure we squeezed the tasting in on a Sunday, even though they aren't open on Sundays. Chef Steve was sweet and not too intrusive. He offered his advice without pushing us in one direction or another. He asked if we liked to make any changes to how the food was prepared, and he delivered on those changes on the big day. They were prompt for the final walkthrough at the venue and sent in the floor plan. They called to make sure we understood how everything was going to go on the big day. On the actual day, they arrived on time and provided the services we were contracted. The food was amazing and our guests loved the chicken and waffles and salmon especially. They made sure we got our food first with all of the options, and they had set aside several of our speciality drinks for us. Chef Curry is an amazing chef whose passion, creativity and business sense make him a top contender in his field. As an event planner, a large part of my job is to seek out chefs and caterers who are committed to providing quality healthy and tasty meal options. Chef Curry is an innovator who can both create a tailored menu or spruce up an existing menu and make it new again. From working with him on a recent wedding in New York, I witnessed how skillful he is at exceeding expectations with the production of spectacular dishes that everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed.
I found Patricia in a pinch, just a month before my wedding! She had a great selection of food to choose from I chose ribs, herb chicken, mini crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops, mac and cheese, veggie lasanga, fruit and salad and all of it was wonderful--her crab cakes sealed the deal! My now-husband and I have high standards for crab (being native Marylanders) and Patricia's were easily one of the absolute best crab cakes we ever had! Patricia was quick to respond to correspondence leading up to the wedding, was polite and friendly, and punctual to the venue. She and her staff, also very polite and friendly, did a BEAUTIFUL job with presentation of the food at the wedding; every guest raved about the selection! I have nothing negative to say at all. Patricia Wright saved my wedding and exceeded all expectations. Book her! I promise you won't be disappointed!
Kelly Lloyd, the Events Coordinator, was a spectacular support both before and during the wedding reception. She assisted with excellent choices for the menu. She took careful notes during our tasting and directed the chef to tweak the food offerings in interesting ways. Kelly's expertise as we planned the decorations was also very helpful and supportive. Everything went without a glitch and it was a great value. We would highly recommend Tortoise and Hare Catering.
