"Brendon and his catering group at Liliahna Catering made us feel comfortable enough that we decided to forgo any taste testing. On the day of our wedding, his team executed table setting/centerpieces and other misc. decor flawlessly. The first time I walked into the reception after cocktail hour, I was speechless. The room was more magical than I could have ever imagined. Speaking of cocktails, we elected to have a limited open bar with wine, beer, and one signature cocktail. We had taste tested our selected cocktail at home but the bartenders executed the cocktail much better than we had. It was much tastier than I anticipated and the bartenders were personable and friendly which was a great bonus! For appetizers, we had a tofu bahn mi slider that was honestly the talk of the entire wedding. I am not sure what the tofu was marinaded in but myself, along with numerous guests, have asked for the recipe. My meat-centric family even loved the sliders and couldn't tell it was made from tofu. The sliders had a creamy vegan sriracha mayo and a crisp, fresh Asian slaw all on a sweet, soft roll. My sister-in-law who is also vegan told me she had 6 of the sliders because they really were that delicious! We had a refreshing watermelon and snap pea salad as well as roasted brussel sprouts which were both very delicious. For dinner, we had Korean beef bowl and Mongolian 'beef' seitan. There was a sesame sauce as well as a gochujang sauce along with about 10 different toppings for the bowls. My husband loved the Korean beef bowl and couldn't stop talking about the sauces. I had the Mongolian seitan and couldn't believe how they achieved such a realistic texture on the seitan. It was chewy but not spongy or soggy. It also had a bit of a crispy texture on the edges. It was perfect. The sauce was full of flavor and I wish I had stopped and had a second plate. My vegetarian and vegan friends have asked me if I could pry the recipe from Brendon. As sides, we had perfectly cooked rice, deliciously roasted broccoli, and my favorite- garlicky green beans. We had bread with an optional scallion butter. Everyone that talked to me about dinner couldn't stop raving about the scallion butter. Finally, we gave the pastry chef freedom to produce the desserts for our wedding. They did not disappoint! Although, initially we had only requested 20 individual desserts for our dessert table, they went above and beyond and provided 36. We tried to make it easier for them and told them to only worry about dairy inclusive desserts but they also provide a gluten free/ dairy free option! They made Harry Potter themed donuts and cupcakes. Each dessert had a Harry Potter character's picture or a wand or sorting hat sculpture on top! They were absolutely breathtaking. They provided several different flavor combinations with different icing flavors and the centers were also stuffed with coordinating flavors. Some cupcakes had a pastry cream center, others had cookie dough, there was even a cheesecake filled cupcake. I cannot recommend Liliahna Catering enough! Brendon and his team contributed to what was the most magical day of my life and I will always recommend Liliahna Catering to anyone who asks. I am so thankful they reached out to us on thumbtack!
