Todd is very good with his students he wants them to learn and engages them so that they can be better all around not just giving one method to solve a problem but many ways so the student can use what's easiest for them. He had helped my daughter elevate get math skills and can't wait for school to start again so i can rehire him for the up coming school year.
Shawn is like actually the best. He’s super nice and friendly and I don’t feel intimidated or stupid like I have with other tutors. He makes sure you understand everything and always answers my texts when I don’t understand problems after. You can tell he genuinely cares about your success and wants to be there for you. I would definitely recommend him and I have to many of my friends. He’s helped me throughout all of my high school math classes and thank god, because I seriously needed help. If you need a tutor, Shawn is the best. 10/10
Duane and his associates are first and foremost concerned about the student, as an educator you can tell his passion for teaching. Duane created a plan specifically for my child to reach her goal on the ACT. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dusne and his company, Maranatha.
Cathan is an amazing teacher and individual. She has the remarkable gift of being able to teach both the beginner and the highly advanced student. Between our three children and involvement in the music world, we have had exposure to many piano teachers. Cathan is singular in her ability to teach the basics of music and playing piano AND musical expression, beautifully interpreting a piece. She is also very good at selecting just the right music that pushes a student forward at the right pace. We came to Cathan after a negative experience with highly-acclaimed piano teacher in the area who just didn't give proper attention to our son. After four years, he simply wasn't progressing, and it didn't seem like it was his fault. We gave him the choice to quit piano or to take lessons from another teacher. To our surprise, he wanted to try another teacher. Once we switched to Cathan, we rapidly saw significant improvement in his playing. Now it is several years later, and even though our son is a young man on the brink of adulthood, he still chooses to take piano from Cathan and practices regularly without ever being prodded. It is a joy to have this music fill our house. We highly recommend Ms. Kabrelian's studio to anyone considering music lessons. It has been a life-changer for us.
Allen is an excellent Spanish tutor. He is always on time for lessons and gives various ways for me to practice my Spanish. During and after our lessons, he often provides links to helpful websites, podcasts, or videos to supplement our Spanish conversations.
Julie tutored my daughter for algebra II and pre-calculus. My child does not like math but never got less than a B while working with Julie. She even got some a's from a teacher who never gives A's. Julie makes all math understandable and we would hire her for college but my daughter will be too far away. No amount is too much for her expertise.
Emily has been tutoring my daughter E for the last couple of months. E is a freshman, quite shy, and has been struggling a bit in her studies (mostly Algebra). We first met Emily and I found her to be very professional and yet still very friendly. She supplied me with all her background information - education, experience, references and even a background screening from the Family Care Safety Registry. Emily has helped E with organization and and with her knowledge of Algebra, she has also helped with other homework when needed. Emily pushes E to ask questions and gives her to do lists, she is very encouraging and positive. She relates very well with my daughter and I highly recommend her.
Danielle Stanton is no doubt one of the most talented teachers of anything I've met in my entire life . . . and I'm a seventy-year-old educator and grandmother. She's incredibly bright and knowledgeable about math; but--far more important to me--she knows how to "read" kids and to adapt what and how she teaches to the individual. My ten-year-old grandson has made remarkable progress with Danielle's help in just a few weeks, and he describes every session as being just plain fun--according to him, in fact, "better than a play date!" I became alarmed when he seemed unable to learn his multiplication tables by the middle of fourth grade. That same "reluctant" learner has now made it through memorizing his 7s in less than a month. I spent thousands of dollars dragging him to boring, after-school, semi-private "math-enrichment" lessons at a branded local math franchise several days each week, including summers, for over two years. My grandson hated those sessions because he hated learning math from dull, impersonal worksheets--the same system that was failing him at his private Montessori school. As I suspected, "practice, practice, practice" isn't always the answer!! This same child is now up at the white board beside Danielle, actively engaged, laughing with her, at her, and at himself, jumping around on his toes in excitement, and spouting the multiplication tables both quickly and accurately. Learning the basics, however, is just the starting point. Danielle takes him well beyond the basics during every tutoring session and shows him how applied mathematics underpins most of the things in which he has a much deeper interest--design, engineering, construction, motors, airplanes, etc. She moves quickly, talks quickly, reasons quickly, and manages to teach math basics quickly without focusing exclusively on them. As a result, Danielle is able to engage my grandson's full attention and to ignite a willingness to learn what before he found simply boring. Side benefits? His self-esteem and self-confidence are soaring!
I've known Jenny Prater for over 20 years. When my step son entered into high school and started struggling with math, I knew exactly who to turn to for help. In the two years that Jenny has been working with him, his grade has gone from and F to a B. He loves working with Jenny and his confidence has never been higher. I would recommend Jenny to anyone. She is patient, dedicated, and puts her heart into the success of her clients.
Sylvia is tutoring my high school-aged daughter in math and ACT prep. We've just had our first meeting with Sylvia, but she is clearly the perfect choice. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in helping the student understand the purpose of math. She also explains concepts in very accessible language.
Mrs. Warwick is hands down the best teacher I've ever had. I first had Mrs. Warwick as a teacher the first quarter of my freshman year of high school through her entrepreneurship class. She exposed me to the endless opportunities that a business education provides. From that one class, I took all of Mrs. Warwick's classes throughout high school. Mrs. Warwick became a mentor, advisor, and a role model to me. She genuinely cares about the success of all of her students, and will stop at no ends to make sure her students reaches success. She is able to relate to any student from any background and find what makes them think and tick. Any student that she works with she makes sure they are prepared to perform both academically and professionally. Mrs. Warwick hands down is the best teacher. It is because of Mrs. Warwick that I am now a first-generation senior studying Finance about to begin my career in New York City after graduation.
