This was my first time working with an editor at any capacity. I interviewed a handful of other editors, but found after a few replies and an edit sample from Todd, that he was the guy for the job...and HE WAS! Todd is everything I needed in an editor, which are as followed: 1) Professional 2) Knowledgeable in his trade. 3) Helps advance the writer's work (as long as the writer is WILLING to cut all the unnecessary fat from their work, to make the pace of their work move more smoothly, as well as willing to expand their vocabulary) 4) Was NOT hard to deal with. Very personable, and did not show ANY form of negative judgement towards my piece. He had his own opinions on how to better my story, but did NOT push that his ideas MUST be used If I felt they weren't the best fit. (As it should be!) 5)Was prompt and feasible. 6) Lastly, never once made me feel that I was anything but a priority. This is my first horror short novel that I am releasing that has been edited. I don't know about any of you considering an editor to help them better their piece, but aren't all of these things EXACTLY what you want in an Editor? Thanks again Todd!
Todd was the perfect choice for my small project. He responded to emails in a timely fashion and was upfront about his role in my project. Todd took it a step further and made suggestions on my project and when I took his advice, he edited that too! He was very encouraging and helped me to feel good about my project. I had a few small questions where I wanted his opinion and he immediately responded with his thoughts. Todd was more than an editor to me
If you are looking for a great editor for your manuscript Dave Wheeler is a great one. He is fair and generous. We still talk on the phone and he still offers his recommendations and help for the next steps. I highly recommend him.
Diane was amazing! My book went through several filters, including my professional editor. She found several errors that needed to be addressed before it went to press. I was very impressed with her ability to see how some suggested changes were connected to other pages in the book. For instance, changing a term in a given chapter meant it needed to be changed in the study guide at the end of the book. Diane showed her ability to be flexible as her work included editing two PDF documents. One PDF was from the book printer and the other version included several new pages that needed adjustments from a graphic designer. Although, this is not the recommended way to proof read a 360 page book, she accepted the challenge with enthusiasm. Diane was able to return the project to me in a surprisingly short time, given the length of the book. She is not only a highly skilled editor and proofreader, she is also very personable. I highly recommend Diane Brown!
David was an insightful and resourceful editor and collaborator. His contributions and interpretations added tremendous value to my final, finished product: my first book. He was also a pleasure to work with and always made time, no matter the length of the discussion. I can recommend him without reservation.
Sarah is my go-to editor/proofreader for every project; from resume design and professional writing, to academic assignments and even creative pieces. I have absolute trust in her knowledge of grammar and punctuation, as well as her eye for layout and her ear for perfect word choice. She is direct and tactful in communicating her recommendations. Our interactions have been fun, smart and time efficient. I always come away feeling uplifted.

I am a writer/editor in Worcester County. As an English major, I am well equipped to proofread documents - both fiction and non. I edit a serial novel on a weekly basis. My clients include college students, business managers, and more. Editing has always been a passion of mine; I am happy to put my knowledge to use!
As a Harvard-educated English major with an interest in psychology and, quite frankly, a boatload of neuroses (if you think one informs the other, you're probably right!), the intricacies of wordplay and effective messaging have always fascinated me. After graduation, I chose to go into the field of communications, which provided me with a solid foundation in PR and marketing writing styles. Despite trying to leave this field in my next role, the passion to write -- and, even more pressingly, to edit -- kept coming back to me and guiding the projects I sought out. In my full-time positions, I have ghostwritten legal blogs for the senior counsel of a major tech corporation; edited numerous academic manuscripts for successful submission and publication, as well as a doctoral dissertation; authored Commencement speeches for a university dean; and much more. My diverse background means I'm able to tackle pretty much any project and any content that is fired my way.
