Neil came to install our "Sense" intelligent power meter on very short notice, and was very flexible about timing. He quickly installed the device on our main circuit breaker box (and installed a new breaker too). He even explained some aspects of the work as well, just in case I ever have to go in and change any of the wiring (unlikely, since he also nicely bundled all the wires together for easy maintenance). I would definitely hire him again for any work!

Jeff was very accommodating and thorough. The 2 jobs that had to get done were not big jobs but in the end were very time consuming. I appreciate his attention to detail and seeing the job through to the end. I live in a condo and he spoke with the condo maintenance to ensure proper installation and purchase of new thermostats. At times it was frustrating, but with someone like Jeff doing the work. I would recommend him for any job big or small.

We have been using K&S Remodeling for over a year to do various construction and maintenance and have been extremely happy working with them. They did a major repair of ice damage from the winter of 2015, they built a large 3 bay shed, the rebuilt one of our original 1920 outbuildings and then they remodeled the kitchen and bath of our 1870's farm house. These projects all entailed some serious construction/reconstruction. We had to remove an exterior wall, shore up the supports in the basement, and install support beams where we opened up exterior walls. All the work was done diligently with an eye towards perfection at each step of the process. Not only would I recommend them to my friends, I fully intend to use them for more projects.

I am reviewing as a rental property owner. I started a relationship with Nexus Property Management with 1 rental property and I am currently at 9 units and climbing. I am an out of state owner and there is no way I could feel comfortable about the care of my rental properties if it weren't for all of the professional people at Nexus Property Management. They cover everything: investment property purchases, management, leasing, and maintenance. Matt Cicciari has been an extraordinary resource in helping us with the various challenges in maintaining our 86 year old home. Our recent challenge was finding a professional chimney repair company to replace the chimney liners in our fire place. Unfortunately a opossum had made a nest in the chimney and had damaged the liners for both the fireplace and heater. Matt’s extensive industry knowledge and detailed understanding of construction requirements enabled us to find and engage a repair company in a timely manner. Our chimney was professionally repaired at a reasonable price thanks to Matt. We highly recommend CCRE Construction for projects both large and small. When we moved into our 80 year old house in 2012, Matt recognized the limitations and vulnerability of the smoke alarms. Because of his expertise, he repositioned the alarms and replaced them with the most up to date battery operated units. We also had a front door that had an annoying squeak every time it opened or closed. We routinely sprayed the hinges with silicone lubricant that only lasted a short time. Matt quickly diagnosed the problem and provided the solution. He removed the door, thoroughly cleaned the hinges and lubricated them white lithium grease. Four years later the door still quietly opens and closes. Ted and Lauren at ECMD have been managing property for us for almost 3 years. It has been a pleasure working with them as they combine an institutional background with a personal touch in everything they do. It is rare to find a property manager with as much integrity as ECMD. They are forthright, honest and extremely hard working. Ted has done a great job leasing units at our building and pushing rents to new levels, while Lauren is a wiz when it comes to accounting, back office operations and logistics. The books every month are tight and every cent can be tracked. For a property 10-75 units, ECMD offers the best value proposition in the market and maybe even more importantly, they are great people. We would highly recommend ECMD for both residential and commercial property management in the Boston area.

How do you find a good handyman?

Finding a good handyman can change your life. Within days, the endless list of insurmountable tasks that were either out of your skill range or impossible to fit into your busy schedule can be completed.   • What is your work experience? If you are putting in a tile backsplash, you want someone experienced with the task, not someone who generally does painting and junk removal.

What does a handyman do?

A handyman is a skilled laborer who provides basic home repairs. Anyone can call themselves a handyman, although most who do so are skilled with repairs and home projects. Reading reviews is a good way to determine their fitness for your job.
