Bulent worked with me - a total stranger - with great care, deep knowledge, and a gentle desire to see me improve. And this is all the FIRST LESSON. I sing live a good bit in a popular style - but need better techniques to keep my voice healthy and improve my longevity per gig. Bulent understood this. I give my highest recommendation. I will work with him again soon.
I signed my 5 year old daughter up for singing lessons, and she is quite shy. Julie has been very kind and good at making my daughter feel comfortable and confident.
A perfect match for my 15 year old daughter taking singing lessons. Amanda's knowledge, talent, and enthusiasm are contagious. She has fostered my daughter's confidence and developed her singing skills. I highly recommend Amanda. You become part of her singing family and she gives more than 100% of herself each lesson. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
My son has been taking piano lessons with Lenae for the past 5 years and we have been very happy with her. As he is approaching his teenage years, it's been a bit of a struggle to keep him interested but Lenae works hard to keep him engaged. She tries to find music he prefers while keeping him progressing musically. She is very patient and has a gentle manner with my son. Lenae also provides thorough and useful feedback on a regular basis. I would highly recommend Lenae if you are seeking piano lessons for your child or yourself (she has adult students too).
After just a few lessons, my singing has improved and I can play simples songs on the keyboard.
John Jannis is an exceptional music teacher. He is patient ,understanding, compassionate and thorough. I would definitely recommend his teaching methods to anyone, regardless of age, who has a genuine passion for learning music. Anyone who takes music or lessons from John Jannis, will find their lives greatly enriched.
I have been taking guitar lessons with David since 2010. He's a remarkable instructor. He covers everything from technique to songwriting to theory to you name it. I've learned a great deal from him and it has been fun. You'll have a blast too!
I really enjoy taking lessons from Patrice. I started with no vocal ability and have made a lot of progress since starting lessons with her a few months ago. She makes the lessons really fun.
Emily is a creative and skilled teacher that is able to transform singing lessons into a fun experience. Very good at providing individually tailored lessons, she does not burden students with unnecessary structure. Emily connects well with male and female students across all age groups. I can recommend Emily to everyone that is interested in improving/perfecting his/her singing skills.
Tom and I have known each other for years. Almost two decades actually! We performed together with the NEC production of Midsummer Night's Dream. Tom as Oberon and I as the changeling boy. I believe I was around eight years old. I am now twenty-eight. Later in my growing childhood career I began taking voice lessons with Tom at his home in Arlington, learning all of the intricate details of becoming a professional in musical theatre and opera from vocal range and strength to stage personality. Tom coached me to become the third spirit in Mozart's, The Magic Flute, performed by Boston Lyric Opera. This was my first major role with a professional company. I continued to work and study under Tom for many years, and I continued to perform with well known companies and stars throughout this time. He is a true friend and great teacher who helped me live up to my potential.
Gordon is the best teacher you could hope to find. He's insanely talented, and he knows how to get the best work out of his singers. I've been singing for years and he finds ways to pick out what I need to take my performance from good to really great.
She is the best! I am a cardiologist at Boston and our lessons during my lunch breaks are my sessions of meditation. The questionnaire (5 questions) that she gave me after our first meeting was brilliant. She understands me perfectly and she creates the greatest repertoire for me. After 6 months, I can say that we worked on anatomy, breathing techniques, singing quality, expanding my range, learning my voice and discovering my true voice with my favorite songs. Her professionalism put music to another level for me. I am having small gigs and enjoying being on stage!
My daughter has been taking singing lesions with Amelia for about 6 month now and I'm so happy with the results. She is more confident and can't stop singing. She is always looking forward to her lesions...Thank you Amelia.
I have been working with Gabe for the last three years. I started in college after never having taken voice lessons before. Gabe is always energetic and passionate in our lessons. You can tell he truly loves music and how it can help people express themselves. As a more reserved person it can be difficult to put emotion into the music, but Gabe always finds a way to not only instruct technique but to help you tap into the emotion of the piece. You obviously can't teach someone how to "feel" but Gabe is great at spurring you on to find the extra bit you may be holding back. He also finds a way to mix in some music theory and sight reading tips into the lessons. On top of that he's extremely flexible with his scheduling and offers very reasonable prices.
Just started doing a few lessons for guitar but have plans to do singing lessons as well. He is versatile and flexible and is working on what I need for the goals I have. Great guy and worth the money so far.
Voice lessons with Amy have been incredible! I had no idea my voice could do this! Thanks to Amy I've made amazing progress and the results are more than I could have hoped for. Thank you Amy!
Steve is a great teacher, after just one lessons, I got so much insight into my journey to playing the piano despite my mixed experience.
Matthew Smedal has an incredible gift for teaching voice with a blend of humor, enthusiasm, and technical theory. He was able to break down new concepts to me using metaphor and examples that were relatable and quickly digestible. You can see that he's not only a natural talent, but that he's a quick, improvisational thinker. He adapts his material on-the-spot for the individual's needs with an intuitive ease. You're not just learning about the voice, but you're exploring a relationship with a character as an actor. Matthew has a way of creating those "ah-ha" moments over and over again. I had never taken a singing course in my life, and I had never sang in front of people before either, but Matt made me feel safe enough to step out of my comfort zone that same-day. He has a trustworthy personality that feels very authentic and caring. Just by being himself, he welcomes you to shine, and it seems effortless. He's a great balance of attentiveness and encouragement as a teacher and coach. Not only is Matt deeply experienced in the performing arts, but he is able to apply his years of knowledge into a concentrated format for the learner. It felt like I had received an intensive crash course in singing in a matter of minutes! I took down pages of notes by the end of class, and he even stayed afterward to offer some one-on-one assistance, which was incredibly valuable to me. I highly recommend Matthew. I was smiling and laughing throughout our lesson together, and I couldn't stop talking about all that I learned for days. Don't miss out on your chance to work with him!
My daughter has been taking voice lessons and absolutely loves going. She's only seven years old and has already learned so much and it's taught in a manner that allows her to totally understand and put all techniques into practice. Her teacher gives her full attention at each lesson and makes sure that the time you've paid for is used for you. I highly recommend them!
As a pop/jazz singer myself, I undertook weekly private lessons with Jordan at the New England Conservatory in the Spring 2018 Semester. It is sometimes hard to find both an excellent teacher and singer, yet Jordan excels in both areas. He is able to pinpoint exactly what you aren’t doing correctly and show you the right technique to be able to reach the high notes with confidence. If I ever didn’t understand the right method the first time, he would effortlessly find another way to explain the right technique until I finally understood how to implement it into my singing. He is the master of getting rid of bad habits with innovative voice exercises and I always felt like I improved after every lesson. I feel privileged to have studied with him during my studies at the conservatory and I highly recommend him without hesitation.
Stephanie is very welcoming and comfortable. She is very encouraging and helpful when it comes to tips and tricks to help you improve and become more confident. She customizes her lesson to fit to your voice and how to better improve it. In my experience Stephanie has helped me be more open and comfortable with my voice. She has helped me reach new goals and be more confident using a broader vocal range.
