Alec does so well with my daughter. She sometimes likes to try and do her own thing and instead of pushing her to always focus, which isn't always an easy task for a child, he'll at times encourage her free play to get it out and then she's back to wanting to learn. She very much enjoys going because he makes it a fun learning experience. She sounds better each time going so the improvement is astounding. I really appreciate how good Alec is with her and I've already recommended this place to friends based simply on how incredible he is.

Not being your typical student, I had a really hard time trying to find a knowledgeable instructor that would accommodate my crazy schedule. As I was just about to give up I came across an add on Craig's List and scheduled a meeting. After reviewing his resume and listening to him play I was very impressed. He gave me several options from traditional lessons to just jam sessions. I took kind of a hybrid approach, and have been taking lessons from Travis for more than 2 years now. A fantastic instructor with an infectious passion for music. So if you are looking for lessons, I'd highly recommended Travis Root.

Jonathan played for my wedding which was in my parents' home, streamed live over the internet. He played my parents' piano during the ceremony and then switched to playing guitar during our dinner. Having both those talents was wonderful. He brought a play list, and followed the script we gave him on when to play and when to pause - very attentive. Jonathan was on-time, played well - loud enough to appreciate but not so loud as to drown out our conversation. He was very quiet - which to me is neither good nor bad. :-) We would hire him again. My mother kept asking me where I found him. Thanks Thumbtack and Jonathan!

About

I have been giving lessons for 10 years now to both children and adults. Some need the lessons to succeed in school, and some just want to pick up an instrument for fun. I find great joy in giving lessons, and it is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life to see my clients success. I played my first wedding when I was about 11 years old. I was so nervous that I begged my mom to let me get out of it. She didn't let me, and I want to thank her for believing in me because I know I couldn't do what I do without the support from her and the rest of my friends and family. Since then, I have played numerous weddings, and with each passing performance, I get to meet new people, share their special day, and see the smiles of their friends and family as they tie the knot. Feel free to contact me with any questions, and I will be sure to get back with you shortly! Pat Bedell

I am currently an Alma College Student who studies Music Theory and helps other musicians on guitar. I have studied for many years and still do. I feel that I can help other guitarist find their own light because I have been there. I didn't have a teacher so I learned by myself and now being colleges trained I feel that I can give valuable information to a guitarist seeking to improve.
