Derrick was fantastic! He helped me so much with finding music, what music I needed and even helped keep me calm in the process. I highly recommend him to everyone. He is easy going and is great at filling in time between the songs I wanted. Our wedding was amazing and in large part because of him!

We had Christopher and Kelly the balloon artists perform at a kids room for my sons wedding. There were 45 children ranging from 6 months to 11 years of age and all the children were fascinated and loved all the balloon characters that Christopher and Kelly made for them along with the magic act from Christopher. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is wanting to entertain children, they were wonderful!!

Courtney took our wedding photos. She did a beautiful job. The only issue we had was actually receiving the photos. It took longer than expected to receive them. That is the only thing that could be improved.

My husband and I needed a last minute photographer for our wedding. We had a beach wedding planned in Florida, but had to change the location a few days before the wedding date due to hurricane Irma. Juliana responded to my Thumbtack inquiry right away and was very responsive. She and her husband shot our small wedding and part of our reception. I've only seen a preview of the pictures, but so far, my husband and I are beyond thrilled with the way they turned out! We couldn't be happier with the way things turned out, even if it wasn't originally planned.

I hired Brittanye to do my makeup for a wedding that I was a bridesmaid in, it was the BEST decision I could have made! She showed up on time, was a joy to work with, and did an amazing job!! I sent her a picture of the general idea that I had in mind along with the colors/style of the wedding - she took that information and created the perfect look to fit my features and the event! Not to mention, after the long day my makeup looked exactly the same at midnight as it did when she finished with me at 8am. I highly recommend hiring Brittany!! I will definitely be using her services again!

Pastor Cheryl and Leon were a blessed addition to our wedding ceremony. Not only were they professional friendly and kind but they put all of us at ease. We did not feel as if they were strangers but friends. We hope to continue a relationship with this beautiful couple for a very long time. They are both beautiful people

He captured everything beautifully, and did so in a way that didn’t interfere with anything. He’s extremely talented, and it shows in his work. We couldn’t recommend Reese enough.

We needed a wedding DJ on short notice, they made themselves available to us in only a 2 days before our event. They showed up two hours early to set up and go over any last minute details with us. They were great, the music selection was the best we can't thank them enough for making our day such a memorable one.

We just hired Matt for our upcoming wedding. We live out of town from where our wedding will be but Matt has been great working with us. He is one of the only photographers I've found that offers "All day coverage" and literally means ALL DAY! He is there for you on your big day and we are so happy we found Jukeboxx Media! I've already recommended him and we will continue too. Trust me, do yourself a favor and check Jukeboxx Media out.

We loved having Thomas as our photographer for our wedding day. He was friendly, professional, made us feel relaxed and have fun, and the quality of his work was second to none. Not only did we get some great formal photos throughout the day but he caught some of the most natural candid moments of the day which have stuck with us ever since. We LOVED the photos he produced, and still to this day we look back on those photos and feel like we are right back there. I would highly recommend Thomas for any photography projects from the most personal to the most professional. - Cameron & Susannah

I can not begin to express my gratitude for Lori. I hired her a year ago to do a gluten free wedding cake and cupcakes for our guests. She invited us to her home for a wonderful cake tasting and it just got better from there. She kept in touch and was helpful with ideas and suggestions whenever I needed her. The day of the wedding she showed up early with a cake and cupcakes that were way more than what I had expected. I was just floored by how amazing everything looked. She even baked us a one year anniversary cake to freeze. In summary: --my husband got a gluten free cake that 1) didn't make him sick, 2) was beautiful, and 3)tasted like regular cake --PLUS we had amazing cupcakes and a BONUS cake --Best of al, everything was cheaper than what I was looking to pay for JUST the wedding cake with 4 other bakers I spoke with -- Icing on the cake ~ Lori was absolutely wonderful to work with. I am very blessed that she was one of the vendors involved in my wedding. THANK YOU!

Classic and Timeless photos! What attracted me to Brooke from the start was her use of natural light which was the number one thing I needed in my wedding photos. She's very quick and professional at getting the pictures to the client. Most of my photos are good quality, but I wished to have expressed to her a little more variety and close-ups of my husband and I.

Jim worked with(and around!) my hectic wedding schedule, going so far as to accommodate my sudden date change without giving me ANY grief over it. His price is the best I was able to find, and the pictures turned out great! I only have a "Sneak Peak" so far, but it was around 100 photos and he got them to me the day after the wedding. An amazing professional who will do your wedding justice.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
