BEST. MCAT. TUTOR. EVER.
I’ve taken my SATs a couple of times and although I am not a bad student, I just felt that I could have done better, I knew it inside, but just could not find where it was. I got the Getting Into The Ivys tutoring program and worked with a Chelsea tutor. What I really like about my tutor is that she’s a qualified teacher and is professional and knows how to actually teach concepts properly. I really did not want to take any chances. Going to university is very important to me and my family. Susan my tutor developed a special study plan just for me, which helped me focus on my key weaknesses, without feeling de-motivated, in-fact I was so enthused by her, I actually looked forward to all my sessions. She is a brilliant tutor and I am so very grateful. I was able to increase my composite core by 100. I am very pleased.
Dr. Nimmo broke down concepts into understandable chunks. Left student with clear understanding.
Great Act tutor! I've learned so much and feel very good about thanking the ACT again.
I really appreciate what T.bruce did to me. He Helped me by giving me homework and we met many times at my house. And in case me or him traveled to some where he stayed in touch with me by using FaceTime. He gave me some advices for the english. Also, he helped me alot in math. Moreover, the best thing was the price that he gave me, Because he teache his students by packaging the price not like other companies or teachers who teach by hour.
Howard have been tutoring my two daughters so that they could increase there SAT/ACT scores. He slso tutors me in Pre-Cal Math and English Literature. He is an excellent tutor that knows the material he is teaching. He is always willing to go above and beyond. He makes sure we understands the material. I was surprised when after just 3 weeks working with my daughter, she was able to raise her SAT scores by 90 points. My daughter has an A in Math now all because of Howard. Myself was failing Math in College. I had a D in the class and now I have a B. My first test I got 46%, and after working with Howard within two weeks I got a 94% on my next test. I don’t know how he know these stuff. It just comes naturally to him. If you want your child or even you has an adult going back to colkege like myself; Howard his the guy you need. My daughters are not the easiest kids to teach, but everytime Howard leaves my home they have more confidence in themselves and they grades have increase. So I know he’s doing a grest job.I recommend him with a 110%.
Wonderful young lady who knows here stuff!! She took her time and help my son with his math work from the 6th grade he has passed all of his quiz's and test this school year he went from a being a 'D' student to an "A-B" student. My son's schedule days with her was Wednesday's and Friday's. My son became excited about math again. So I am confident that he will pass his EOG's to move on into the 7th grade and I have already put my son on this young lady schedule. I highly recommend this young lady to tutor your young person!! Super smart! It's not a wonder that she graduated High School a year early.

I specialize in tutoring elementary and middle school age students in math. As a former middle school math teacher, I saw students coming to middle school with a lack of confidence in mathematics, sometimes gaps in their knowledge, and often a lot of math anxiety. I became interested the mathematical foundations that students were gaining in elementary school and wanted to support the development of that foundation. I have extensive experience as a mathematics curriculum developer, including work for Education Development Center, Jason Learning, SRA/McGraw-Hill, and Houghton Mifflin. With an bachelor's degree in mathematics, a master's in education, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, I am a skilled instructional designer, with experience and knowledge about how people learn and how content can be creatively developed and delivered to support a range of learning styles.
I tutor students who are experiencing difficulty in the area of mathematics. Once the area or areas of weakness have been identified, I work with student so that he/she can master the standard or standards identified. I will assist with math homework and help student prepare for math quizzes and tests, when possible. Finally I will work to prepare the student for the End of Grade tests. Throughout this process, the student should gain confidence and experience success.
I enjoy helping others to better understand troublesome topics and working cooperatively to improve their skills, so that they're equipped to solve complex problems on their own. I can help you master the basics of your class of choice and improve your confidence in approaching new and complex problems, all the while having an enjoyable time. My cheerful, warm, friendly attitude and my ability to empathize with others and gauge their comprehension are important factors in striving to be an effective tutor and role model. My rate is $20/hr for the first hour of a week and then $15/hr for any additional hours that week. I care about your comfort and convenience and am flexible with day, time, and location.
