My goals were to lose weight, increase muscular definition, and have a more positive outlook on life. In the past I have tried all types of methods but nothing has been more beneficial than working out with a personal trainer. MJ has shown me the way to push through my physical limitations and find the confidence to train at a whole new explosive level. I couldn't be more excited with the results thus far. I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Kandace P. Platts, as a fitness/personal trainer. Kandace has been my trainer, motivator and confidante for 3 months. She has been able to walk that fine line of being the cutest drill sergeant and inspiring work out buddy with an ease that is uniquely hers. As a registered nurse, she has helped me with my diet which in turn has helped me push through those harder work outs and has reduced my hypoglycemia moments. I have worked out muscles that I didnt know even existed and even, when I give my dirty look after a touch 10th rep of some crazy exercise, I always feel a great since of accomplishment. Kandace has exceeded my expectations in so many ways. I am so grateful for her encouragement and knowledge and the best part, it is all done with such grace and a beautiful smile. Gina is a dedicated, well informed trainer. There is nothing she can't work around. If you have an injury she will modify the work out so you can stay on track. If you do the work you will get incredible results! Thank you Gina for everything!

Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and highly skilled therapist. I have been working with Brett for over 3 years now. I first started working with Brett for personal training. After a back injury I started working with him as my physical therapist. I am always impressed and satisfied with services received; he takes the time to explain the causes of symptoms and pains and explains what needs to get worked on, why and how to safely go about it. Awesome personal trainer
I started working out with Fred in Dec 2012. I am a stay at home mom with two children and I finally decided to get into shape and lose weight. I have lost weight in the past, but it has never stayed off and I never stuck with an exercise program until now. I made the decision to spend the money on a personal trainer and get fit and healthy. In just two short months of training with Fred, I have managed to lose 8 pounds and inches from around my belly, hips, thighs and arms. I have gone down one pant size. Fred has passion for training. He will demonstrate the exercise he would like you to perform and then watch to make sure you are performing the exercise correctly and getting the most benefit. Fred has a keen sense on how hard your muscles are working. The workouts are varied, but I never feel so sore the next day that I can't move. My muscles feel like they have been worked fully, but not over worked. He always manages to hit that sweet spot where your muscles feel worked, but aren't super sore. He has you do enough reps that your muscles are fatigued and can not lift any more, which is the best way to build muscle. Fred is a great motivator. He pushes you to do that one last rep or hold the plank just a bit longer to get the most benefit. I thought I pushed myself well, but found out having a trainer allows you to get that little extra out of each workout. I always feel the workout has pushed me to the highest level I can achieve. All of Fred's work outs are varied and interesting. He makes exercising fun and beneficial. I look forward to the work outs and never dread having to go to the gym. I would recommend Fred to anyone that is looking to challenge themselves, get the most out of their workouts and get fit and healthy.
As a new to exercising client of Beth Rau, not new but it's been a long time, she made me feel very comfortable with a process that was very intimidating. I've never been to a personal trainer before but I can appreciate her value to somebody who is just getting started. She is knowledgeable and friendly. It was truly a pleasurable experience for someone who was extremely anxious before starting my session. I'm actually looking forward to my next time and feel like this is something that will become a routine for me, and I have Beth to thank for making this such an enjoyable experience.
I have individual personal training sessions at North Reading Krav Maga. Steve is professional and knowledgable. I get a truly individualized experience- working within my limitations, but pushing me in great, productive ways outside of my comfort zone. My sessions combine aerobic activity and strength conditioning. Steve is precise with his instruction, making my form is safe and effective. He makes my workouts fun by combining moves from krav maga and functional motion exercises. I have seen significant changes in my overall fitness, my energy levels, and general shape/size of my body. I've also been feeling in much higher spirits, feeling more in control of my own body, being able to manage stress better, saving anger for punching sessions, and generally feeling more confident in my own physical abilities. I plan to continue working with Steve at North Reading Krav Maga for the foreseeable future- it's a fabulous experience.

I'm a recent graduate from Fitchburg State with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science. I am attending occupational therapy school in the fall. I'm looking to train some people for some extra money to help fund my way through school. I do not have any official personal training certifications, but I have over 500 hours of observation in a clinical exercise environment; I have also taken multiple college courses on training and nutrition.
