I have 2 daughters whom I wanted to take piano lessons. David is a gifted pianist with a beautiful voice. I was worried my girls would find piano lessons arduous and boring. Quite the opposite with David! They loved him, looked forward to their lessons and practiced willingly. I particularly liked David's gentleness with my girls. Not only was he an excellent teacher, but the way in which he taught them was fun, caring and enthusiastic. They really were drawn to that and did very well, especially for beginners. I am very pleased to recommend such a wonderful piano teacher.
My daughter, age 11, has been taking piano lessons from Bill Coccagna for a short period. But in this short period, Bill has motivated and inspired my daughter by helping her write and record a song about herself. My daughter has been taken piano lessons for approximately 3 years from other instructors, but was always reluctant to practice at home. Bill has encouraged her to practice at home so that she builds confidence in her musical ability. Bill has made the piano lessons fun for my daughter by incorporating pop music along with classical music into his teaching style. Bill's vast range of musical knowledge and experience is shared with my daughter in a way that she understands. Most importantly, Bill provides a comfortable setting for my daughter where the piano lessons take place.
What a fantastic teacher! So friendly and incredibly passionate about music. Michael was able to help me with 2 of my vocal issues during our very first lesson. I'm eager to return and may also take piano lessons from him in the future.
Ms. Gwin is excellent and my daughter and I are happy and very fortunate to have found her for piano lessons. From day 1, she has been very accommodating, knowledgeable and passionate, which is reflected through her teaching. My daughter is only 4 years old and Ms. Gwin was able to creatively adapt concepts to meet her current level of understanding. With just 2 months of instruction, meeting once per week for 30 minutes, my daughter has already mastered playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb", as well as, some piano theory. My daughter looks forward to her weekly sessions and I am very pleased with the talent that she is so quickly developing.
My experience working with Solveig was absolutely great! Solveig is very patient and a great instructor. She works with you to accomplish your goals and is always encouraging and supportive. She is very skilled and has a very strong musical background, making her very knowledgeable in our lessons. Solveig has a very relaxed demeanor which made lessons very pleasant and made learning and focusing on the piano much easier. I would absolutely recommend Solveig for instruction on the piano!
I just started voice lessons with Mary. Would highly recommend. She is able to access voice range and inflection very quickly, build on your strengths, and help you improve in areas that need more development. She will get you started right away, whatever your desired goals are.
Thank you for the wonderful services but i dont need online lessons.
While we have only been attending for about two months, my son has loved his piano lessons. He is eager to go each week and practices daily!! Rosalind has been flexible with our changing summer schedule. My son has learned so much in such a short time.
My 4-year-old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Dillon for several months. He is devoted to making sure that my daughter is engaged in her lessons and learns both technique and theory. Even before working with us, Dillon recommended the right type of keyboard and piano workbook to purchase. He is very patient and dedicates a great amount of effort to instructing our daughter (and two of her 4-year-old friends). He is firm and keeps her focused (but not too firm that he intimidates her). Finally this week, my daughter went to her room and practiced by herself and is now able to play "Old MacDonald". Yay for Dillon!
We have been students of the Piano Workshop for 7 years. Mark, the director, does a great job at matching students with teachers and is very accommodating to work with scheduling lessons especially with families that have very full schedules. We enjoy the recordings done at every recital and they make a good teaching tool as well. There are lots of teachers of various disciplines so students of all musical talents can benefit at the Piano Workshop. It's a professionally run outfit that I would recommend to all families.
My daughter has been taking piano lessons w/ Ms. Ruth for 5+ years. We love that Ms. Ruth is herself an accomplished musician. She works well with my daughter because she knows when to push her hard and when to relax a little. Like most kids today, my daughter has multiple activities/sports in addition to her school works. Ms. Ruth is flexible with our schedule. Besides teaching my daughter to play lots of the classical pieces; she also encourages her students to play the music that they enjoy. My daughter continues to look forward to her weekly lesson with Ms. Ruth.
Tetsuro has been teaching our 8-year old weekly for a month now. He is patient, funny, prompt, professional, and encouraging, and I love hearing the lessons as they are happening. I think Tetsuro makes learning the piano fun. He also has published his own lesson book! As a former Suzuki piano and cello student, I am pleased to know he has a system of his own that he has thought through. I am very pleased to have found him.
Tara taught our son jazz piano for several years, and it was a wonderful experience. The lessons had the two of them at the piano, playing together for most of the hour. Learning new patterns, call-and-response practice, and guided jamming together for 10-15 minute periods. Tara would also explain the ideas verbally and write the gist of them in a notebook. We have often attended Tara's own concerts in the area and found them exciting.
My teenage son has been enjoying Danton's classical guitar teaching for the past two years. In this time, he has greatly matured in his playing skills and understanding of music theory. Danton challenges his students in creative and fun ways, making lessons a pleasure. He includes the student in selecting music, being sure to advance the student's skill level without overwhelm the student. He is professional, engaging, and friendly. Additionally, his ability to come to my home for lessons saves me time each week. Certainly, he is a very talented musician whom I eagerly recommend for all styles of piano or guitar instruction.
Siobhan is an awesome teacher, very patient and knowledgeable. If youre looking for a great piano instructor, look no further!
I went to Debra for voice lessons, she is an amazing teacher. She really helped me grasp concepts and helped me improve my vocal performance in a way I never imagined. She is a great teacher and I reccomend her for anyone looking to serisiosly improve their singing ability.
Flo is very passionate about music. I like the energy she brings to the lessons. She vocalizes the music for my girls and makes it very interesting. I am looking forward to see all 3 grow & challenge their limits.
I have been a student of Paula Hess for approximately 8 years and she has been a superb teacher to me. I consistently refer her to other friends and family given her professionalism and excellence. She is a degreed professional and has been teaching for over 20 years. She has trained me from an intermediate to now an advanced level via difficult repertoire (Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy, and more). I originally went to Mrs. Hess as my first teacher primarily taught via method books. She was able to quickly accelerate my progress and teach me difficult classical music. Part of her success is due to her willingness to allow students to sometimes choose different pieces for themselves and guide their direction in learning. While some students may want to play show tunes, other students may want to focus on a more classical path. Mrs. Hess is able to make a "plan" individualized for all students. Mrs. Hess teaches all levels; however, I have enjoyed her advanced approach to teaching me music. I started with Mrs. Hess at an intermediate level. She is not a piano teacher who will simply take your money regardless of the student. She truly wants her clients to succeed, practice, and grow. If you are looking for a teacher who will keep you accountable, will truly teach piano, and will accelerate your instrumental skill, she is certainly the teacher you are looking for. She is very patient; however, she does encourage growth and consistent practicing. All teachers should expect this out of their students. In regards to her ability to teach special needs children, she has extensive years teaching children in this population. In fact, some of these students play at recitals. She prides herself on the ability to teach students of this population. As a physician assistant who is very cognizant of special needs children and there needs, I would have full confidence in going to Mrs. Hess. In conclusion, for those who have had other problems with teachers, without a doubt, I recommend Mrs. Hess.
Having taken guitar lessons under Sharon Hood for 6 years I can proudly assert she is one of the most knowledgeable, capable, and friendly music teachers I've had the pleasure of learning from. Throughout my years with Sharon I went from 0 experience with guitar to playing paid performances in the community as well as substitute teaching for her in a jam. She has taught myself, my younger brother (piano), as well as my younger cousins and friend, and she seriously works wonders, especially with children! If you're looking for someone who not only knows their stuff, but is willing to take the time to get to know you and make sure you are learning to the best of your ability, look no further than Sharon Hood Music Studio.
I had a great experience and I’m looking forward to more lessons.
Nancy does a fine job teaching piano. She keeps the vibe upbeat, but gets the job done.
