By far the best plumber I've ever hired. Joel is very professional, courteous, prompt and most of all experienced. He did excellent work installing a new water heater and shower in our home. His pricing was better than the competition yet still provided superior service. I HIGHLY recommend Joel.

He should have used a differenct sealer around the stainless steel ring in my sink. The one he used was not made for water . It washed away and I had to go buy a differenct kind that was water resistant. Other than that he did a great job putting up my new celing fan and mounting my new TV on a bracket. He had to attach the bracket to the inside of a cut out and then hang the TV on it. Great job. Very pleased with Dan. Would recommend him.

Called for emergency water heater service. Pilot light would not come on. Scheduled a time range for the same day, but they were actually early. Unfortunately, it was more than just the pilot light. The WH was leaking water. Replacement was beyond my repair limit for this leased house, so I had to kick it back to the owner. The owner would handle it on his own. But, ProServ had a great phone and dispatch service to get the plumber here earlier than expected on such short notice. The plumber saw the real problem as soon as he walked up to the WH. All around good experience.

I had several 'Honey Do' projects around the house from installing security doors, replacing a broken window, misc work in the bathroom, building and installing a water heater cover, etc. Randy was very professional from the first consultation, to estimates, fees and completed work. I have already hired him again and I'm sure he will be our 'go to' guy throughout the year. We're lucky to have him working in our home. Thanks Randy!

Dinos Plumbing came the next day to do the estimate and they where half price than others. They did a great job on my main water line. Call them you won't be disappointed. They are very reasonable.

Fast contact, accurate bid price. Doing business and watching his work was a real pleasure. So many times you run into those that claim to know their business, I can tell you Moises knows his stuff. I had a simple plumbing job that could have turned ugly real fast. Moises was quick to rectify the issue from a previous installation by another company. I was so impressed, I actually gave him 125% of his bid price. I would recommend Moises without hesitation.

When I contacted D&J Services they got right back to me. Josiah was here when he said he would be. He took a look at the job that needed to be done. He ran off to get parts, when he got back he got right to work. He installed a tankless water heater for me and it works great! Thank you Josiah.

The job that I asked Robert to do was a small job of replacing a faucet. I don't know much about pluming so I goggled all the parts that make up a faucet replacement from the water lines to the faucet itself and went out and got it all so that I was prepared for him when he arrived. Robert arrived and asked a few questions as to what I wanted in the completed job, he was courteous and pointed out an issue that I was not aware of concerning how badly my sink was sealed to the counter top. He had a few questions in-between, but nothing that disturbed my work at home business. About 40 or so minutes later he stated that he was done, the faucet was installed, parts that were not needed were there for me to take back and the sink was sealed to the counter top. I fully expected the final price to be higher than what was quoted, but in fact it was 33% lower. I have met an honest man, and I will call him again with any issues I may have for my home repair issues. What Could Have Been Better: Nothing - Excellent work sir! Thanks Chris

Tim did a truly professional job. I had a broken water main leading from the street into my home due to tree roots. Tim gave me an estimate, set a time to due the job, showed up when he said he would and completed it in a matter of hours. He called me out to see the repairs he made before filling in the hole that he had to dig to get to the main water pipe. He used Quality Materials and then packed sand around the new pipe removing large rocks and debris from the area to prevent future damage. Oh, I forgot to mention that the location of the break in the water main was under the sidewalk leading from the shut off into my home. Great work, fantastic estimate, and as I mentioned before a "Truly Professional job." I highly recommend him for your project.

We needed someone to help us to remove the old range hood and to install a new one. We were lucky to find Alex. His rate is reasonable, and he did a good job. We liked his work performance, so we hired him again to change the garbage disposal, to fix a electric outlet, to remove the old water softener, and other maintenance jobs in the kitchen. We will keep his ph. number handy as we are not handy people.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

    • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
    • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
    • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.

Follow these additional tips for confidently hiring a plumber or other skilled professional.
