Gary is so very patient, and professional, with a great sense of humor and style! My daughter had a great 1st guitar lesson & can't wait for next week. Thanks so much Gary!
I would highly recommend Dave Robles for guitar lessons. He taught two of my daughters, from age 6 to age 12. He is both a professional educator and musician. He builds a rapport with the kids, and keeps them interested by letting them have input into the kind of music they're learning. He is reliable and organized, and provided a tabbed binder with sections for notes, theory and music. I recommended Dave to the after school enrichment program at our elementary school because he did such a good job teaching my girls, and I would highly recommend him for all ages.
Guitar lessons can be boring, but not with Steve. Steve's guitar playing its Eddie Van Halen's level and best of all is that he is very humble and a funny teacher. He will take his time to explain you note by note on the entire fretboard. I always have fun learning new scales, arpeggios, triads etc. with Steve. You will actually get exited every time a guitar lesson with him is coming up. A guitar instructor that actually knows how to play pretty much anything on guitar, but if you are into Rock, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Jazz and Jazz Fusion, you should definitely take guitar lessons with Steve. - Winston Beast Master (Khiazma band)
Tommy has been an amazing guitar, bass, and audio engineering teacher. Recently, we've been working together on some college auditions involving jazz bass, which I knew little of in terms of techniques and terminology. With Tommy's help, I've learned what would have taken me forever, and I feel a lot better about the audition process.
Guitar Hangar is a full-service music store, with a wide selection of instruments from beginner to high-end instruments at competitive prices. More importantly, they focus on service after the sale -- including repairs, maintenance, accessories and perhaps most importantly for new and intermediate musicians, lessons. Rick has been my go-to guy for more than 10 years, and I give him and Guitar Hangar my highest recommendation.
I’d never even picked up an instrument before and Steve taught me guitar! He’s patient and reliable, and music is his passion so he is very easy to talk to and learn from. Great guy and now a great friend as well! 🎰 Thanks again for everything! -JT 🎸💎💎💎💎💎🎸
My wife and I hired James to play guitar for the processional and recessional of our wedding ceremony. We had very specific plans for the songs and arrangements we wanted to hear, and James was able to accommodate by learning and tweaking them in a very short amount of time. He communicated with us frequently throughout the process and sent us videos to make sure we were happy with the results. On the day of the wedding, he arrived on time and with the necessary equipment, and set things up with the coordinator/officiant so that we didn't have to worry about anything ourselves. And, of course, he played the songs exactly as we'd hoped, helping to make our ceremony a perfect and memorable one. James, I'm glad you found my listing here, and thanks for everything!
Tom is a wonderful teacher. His is kind and friendly and always puts his students at ease. He is well versed in many styles and instruments so he can adapt to any student's needs. His lessons are fun and helpful!
Rob is a brilliant player and brilliant teacher. His knowledge of guitar playing and the music industry is truly impressive. Great guy too!
I have been taking lessons with Christina for over a year now and I can't believe the difference in not only my voice, but my confidence! Because of my training, I have been cast in such roles as the Stepmother in "Into the Woods", Madame Thernadier in "Les Miserables", Woman in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" and Mayor Matilda Hyde in "All Shook Up" to name a few. My daughter has also been taking lessons and as a result was cast as Twin 1 in "Peter Pan" at a 1700 seat theatre! I never knew how to use the different parts of my voice. Christina helped the different parts of my voice come together as one instrument and helped me create the sound that is uniquely mine. I can't thank her enough!
My 13 year old daughter, Alessandra, has been taking guitar lessons with Larry Del Casale since Summer 2012, so a little more than 4 years. He integrates theory, technique, and passion together in a way that made her progress at an amazing rate. I think Larry is one of the reasons why my daughter loves and enjoys playing the guitar so much.
I hired Preston for guitar lessons this summer and met with him for three lessons before having to go back to school. Preston is a real chill guy, with an incredible beard and even greater passion for music. He'll listen to your questions patiently (I had thousands) and enthusiastically give incredibly thorough answers that, although sometimes may circle around to a few different topics, always come back around with really interesting insight to boot. Although he's a talented guitarist, probably the best things about Preston are his personality and availability. He and I texted about problems I was having with learning a song or scale, and he would (and still does, actually) email me with exercise suggestions. Great guitarist, better guy. Definitely check him out no matter what you're interested in learning on guitar!

I also have been tutoring high school students in earth science for three years. I will be graduating this May with a BS in Geology and Environmental Science from SUNY New Paltz. Become a working bass player. Most people take up bass guitar because they want to jam with friends and maybe start a band. As a working professional for over 35 years, I will get you started on the track to quick fun and success. Start playing songs you enjoy. Learn the proper technique. Some music theory is a must and is incorporated.
I understand that it can be difficult for students to learn a new instrument because of a number of different factors. Part of it is not finding time to pick up and practice your instrument. Each lesson will be tailored to what the STUDENT wants first and foremost. If you/your child wants to learn how to play jazz? I'll taylor the lessons to jazz. If you/your child wants to learn Taylor Swift songs? We'll focus on Taylor Swift songs. But each lesson will be designed to expand and enhance you/your child's understanding of the guitar while learning what it is they want to know.
