What is a boot camp class?

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. How much is a boot camp?

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Karl is great, I have now worked with him for 3 weeks and I have been really enjoying our sessions. He is incredibly professional, thoroughly assesses your needs and prepares as well as modifies your workout accordingly. He is an experienced trainer and uses a wide array of training modules to include TRX, kettle bells, weights, High Intensity Interval Training, Kick boxing and Pilates among others. Karl has certainly given me the motivation to train harder and even within the first three weeks I can see significant difference in strength and endurance as well as body shape. I have been going to the gym for years but have never had such a shift particularly in such a short period of time. Kyle is a great trainer: good energy, polite and soft spoken but determined to help you get the results you want. Excellent knowledge base and yet willing to try other methods. For example, he accommodated my desire to do some boxing incorporating into our routine. A great trainer for young athletes but also for the more mature person (I'm 64), slowing things down a little to suit the fitness level. Always on time, attentive, follows up the next day with a text to make sure you are okay. Available to fit any schedule. A good listener, and just an all around good-hearted person. Highly recommended.

OUTSTANDING PERSONAL TRAINER!! I've worked with other trainers in the past and there is no comparison - he is by far the best. I work out with Joel in my building's gym and he is very creative and resourceful with the equipment at hand. The exercises he gives me are efficient and well thought out in that they work out several parts of the body at once. Joel is incredibly knowledgeable about exercise science, nutrition and the body. Brenda is amazing and an absolute life saver. She is professional, committed, dependable and enthusiastic. I loathe to exercise, but knew I had to find a way to get back to being consistent and I couldn't do it on my own. I used Thumb Tack and found Brenda.
