Having met Dr. Anna is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I had been in therapy for over a decade with various counselors, but now I know the difference between a therapist and a Therapist. She is warm, compassionate and creative, no two sessions are the same, and she seems to have an incredible repertoire of techniques at her disposal. She is always goal-oriented, makes sure that results are really happening, and always explains everything so clearly as you have never heard and never understood before. She has the greatest sense of humor, her academic knowledge is amazing, and her fine-tuned sensitivity boarders on the mystical. Yet she is always funny, down to earth, and real. I've never laughed so much in therapy sessions before! :-) I am so grateful, ... because I am finally discovering what "free" and "happy" really mean!

I am in a supervision group with Brent at a postgraduate program in gestalt psychotherapy and have had the opportunity to view his work with his clients. I have been extremely impressed with Brent's sensitivity to his clients. Brent is focused and attuned to his clients' needs and paces his work with them accordingly. I believe Brent is dedicated to his work as a therapist and eager to continue to learn and enhance his skills. He has many qualities that I believe are important to being a good therapist.
Sessions with Dr. Chece make you feel at ease. He is very compassionate and is very good at making connections with his patients.
Marriage counseling; very accommodating, felt very comfortable with her and she gave wonderful advice.
I've been struggling with anxiety and anger issues since teenage years, and have tried therapy in the past but never stuck with it because I always found myself getting impatient with the therapists or the process. However, Dr Eskalyo slowly but efficiently helps me realize the benefits of psychotherapy, by digging deeper into my subconscious mind. She never makes me feel judged, or pressured. Scheduling is flexible, which works with my crazy work schedule. She's also very cooperative and patient with paperworks for my insurance. I highly recommend Dr Eskalyo, especially for those who are skeptical but would like to try therapy.
Dr. Cofrin, is warm, sincere, intuitive & very knowledgeable in her field. After leaving our first session with her we felt good, so we know better things await us.

PDT is for your benefit -- be a true human being. I believe in PDT. Research evidence is strong. People get better and as time passes, they get even better. PDT (Psychodynamic Therapy) has been researched since 1980 and has shown benefits above other therapies, including CBP (see Shedler, J., 2010: "The Efficacy of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy," American Psychologist, 65: 98-109). My book, "The Symptom Is Not the Whole Story," the other book, (2006) is written for those who want to know about PDT.

Most therapists in New York provide therapy from a humanistic or psychodynamic background. While this is fine for people who do not have an acute problem, it is less useful for people who are suffering from a disabling level of anxiety. My work addresses the loss of function head on. Most people can be helped with less than six months of treatment. I often need to accompany clients on therapeutic 'missions' like going into the subway or an elevator for the first time in thirty years or crossing a busy street. I enjoy working in the real world. I am also willing to provide service in your home or office, though I must charge for travel and insist on a suitable environment for work.
We are a psychotherapy service treating adolescents through adults to manage anxiety, depression, mood disregulation and whatever is impairing the quality of life.
Most couples appreciate that I am active in the session and do not let them sit and fight. I give immediate empathic feedback about what I perceive keeps the couple stuck. I begin to help them identify the repetitive dances that continue to cause them to fall into the hole of hurt feelings and the pain that leads to withdrawal. In the session, I invite them to participate in specific new kinds of interaction that help them to feel heard, validated and cared. I help each partner to voice a deeper level of yearning rather than just expressing anger and frustration. I emphasize the need to allocate quality time to help them rekindle the joy of being together.
