This is the place you want to go if you want to learn anything related to voice and vocal performance. Since the lessons are 1 on 1, the experience is highly personalized and tailored to suit your specific needs as a student. Patrick is the main instructor and does a phenomenal job of explaining concepts and developing them into reality. You will find yourself with a voice you didn't know you had after just a few lessons and practice. Each lesson focuses on vocal exercises and specific songs to work on, but you can work on specific points of difficulties as well, as said before each experience is personalized. Jon Price is another instructor which also does an outstanding job as a teacher and vocalist. Both instructors are extremely helpful. The program is organized, with specific goals and objectives being set so your progress can be kept track of. These are all kept on a USB stick along with any other media materials a student may need such a songs, recordings of each lessons, exercises, and more. They also offer Saturday bootcamps for free, which are group voice lessons that focus on other subjects that can greatly benefit your learning progress. Another amazing part of it is that they offer open mic parties on select Saturdays, where a large group of people come together and listen to each other perform a song that they have put a lot of work into. After going to several myself, it really impresses me and others alike to see people come again and again and be able to really hear the positive progress they have made. And the best feeling is probably when everyone claps for you afterwards, acknowledging not juts your performance but the work you put in to achieve it. Afterwards, it becomes a social event and overall really becomes a night to look forward to and look back upon to remember. If anyone is looking to vocally train, go here and the only problem you're going to have is that you didn't go earlier!

Patrick takes a different approach than vanilla voice lessons. He is a voice physiologist so he literally fixes your instrument. The instruction can be intense but it is well worth it. In a short time I have improved in ways I did not think possible. I am looking forward to the coming months to see where my range and ability will be.

I have been taking voice lessons with Patrick Wickham for over two years. Not only is he a fantastic teacher but the school offers a very supportive environment and the opportunity to work with other teachers and sing in front of other people with Boot Camp and open mic nights.

I've been taking voice lessons with Dave for almost a year now, and it's one of the best decisions I've made. I've loved singing my entire life, but I've always felt like I wasn't good enough. It turns out I just needed to tweak my technique. I've definitely improved immensely over the past year, and others (including professional singers) have noticed and complimented me on it as well when I've sang at gigs. I've learned effective warm up techniques, how to control my voice, how my posture and mouth placement are important for my vocals as well, and so much more. He's also very encouraging and patient. I definitely wouldn't sound the way I do today without him. He's given me the confidence to look into performing more in this new year. I'm more motivated than ever to see where my voice can take me and very excited to continue working with him. I was also lucky enough to record a song with him and was able to see what an amazing producer he is as well! Anyone looking for a great, knowledgeable, experienced vocal instructor and producer; look no further! Dave's your man!

David has been working with my boyfriend (I got him vocal lessons as a gift) and it has worked out incredibly well. Everyone has noticed the huge improvement in his vocals. He has looked forward to and loved his lessons with David - every lesson he'd come back telling me what new techniques he'd learned. I was worried that due to his leading a rock band, it would be more challenging to adjust the lessons to his style, but nothing could be further from the truth. He can tackle very difficult songs now with confidence and sings his own original music with even more power and precision. Thank you, David!

I took voice lessons ages ago and have been thinking about picking them up again. After doing some research I decided to go with David. I am so glad I did. He is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He has a very great teaching style and he obviously knows what he's talking about. I'm very pleased with my experience so far and will recommend him to anyone that wants to improve any part of their singing.

I've been taking voice lessons with Rae for about six months now, and I can’t believe the amount of improvement I've made within that time frame. I originally didn't intend to take lessons with her, but merely have a coaching session of sorts after my unreliable teacher flaked out on me before an audition. I remember thinking “how awkward” when she started talking about what we would be working on next week because, well, I didn’t think there would be a next week. But there was a next week, and many more to come after that. The amount of improvement I made after just one lesson with Rae was astounding. She is great at explaining the impossible. Rae is dedicated to teaching her students. She doesn’t use the lessons as a sing along. She can and will correct your every tendency, but never in a way that is condescending. She truly is a great teacher. I have grown so much thanks to her, and not just musically. I’ve become more observant and I feel much more confident. I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my musical counting capabilities and overall tone quality when I play the flute. Not only am I learning how to sing but I am also learning bits of music theory along the way. We even alleviated my back pain! Who knew I was overarching?!? I sure didn’t. Rae did. I’ve come to realize that these are more than just voice lessons. They’re oftentimes life lessons. I aspire to be on Broadway one day, which is the reason I started taking lessons in the first place, and realize that I should probably learn how to dance. I once said to Rae “I can’t dance and am not a dancer”. A few months later, I changed my mindset and changed that statement to “I don’t know how to dance”. I know understand that I am capable of so much more than I originally thought, and that I just need to learn how to do these things and will eventually discover what my limitations are. With my old teacher I felt as if I had a mediocre range. The highest note I would ever sing with her was a D and she would frequently have me struggling to hit notes far below my lower register. With Rae, I now realize that my range is almost double what I had originally believed it to be. I realize that my voice isn't “pretty and wispy and high”. I realize that I am strong and am a force to be reckoned with. I realize that I am a beginner who had bad habits and that there is no shame in that. I realize that I should act without hesitating and be big and uninhibited. And I realize I have a really awesome voice teacher.

I appreciated Ms. Thomas' professionalism & gentle manner. She tuned into a voice issue I've had by hearing me speak. Voice lessons are very intimate & personal. Her easy manner & kindness made it easy to make sounds even not so pretty sounds! She also has a performance workshop once a month where you can bring a song or two. All types of voices, all levels, opera, pop, rock, musical comedy, work on vocal exercises & acting. It's an enjoyable, learning experience. I have a new found confidence. ( at an affordable price) Thumbtack is sort of like a blind date. You're not quite sure who you're meeting & if this will end up being someone who'll be in your life for a time or a 'one time thing'! This was a good match! Thank so much!!

Annie was absolutely amazing. First of all, I'm not the most confident when it comes to singing, I enjoy singing, and I write songs, but I often feel like I couldn't deliver when it comes to singing them. That's when I started looking into getting some voice lessons to help with my technique and hopefully unlock a few things! Annie showed up right on time for our first meeting with a free consultation- (awesome! who gets free stuff nowadays in New York?). She asked me what I wanted to achieve and asked me to show her my songs (in which I was nervous about but got over it quickly because she was super open minded about it). She pointed out the good things I did in the recordings and then gave me some pointers on the parts I could work on further with her, perfect and yes please. We've had 3 lessons so far and worked on 2 songs to keep the lessons exciting. She gave me a few exercises to do on my own, helped with breathing techniques, and even advised on some dietary factors that would help keep my voice healthy. I highly recommend her if you are looking for someone who cares about your progress, listens, is non-judgmental (my biggest need for my shyness), and has a whole lot of knowledge to give!

Annie is a wondeful teacher. At first when I decided to take vocal lessons I was afraid that I will not feel comfortable to sing infront of someone who is new. Annie made me so comfortable to sing infront of anyone and not feel shy about it at all. What I like about her too is that she tries to introduce me to new styles of music in order to improve my voice and breathing techniques. She also gives good advices that helps a lot!

Michelle is the piano teacher I wished for when I was a kid! Michelle is patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. One of the things my 7-year-old loves most about Michelle is that she lets her explore her musical creative side. Michelle has guided my daughter in composing her own music, tackling tough songs of her own choosing and in introducing instruments like the harmonica into her selections. Michelle is always upbeat and full of positive energy and as a result my daughter loves her music lessons.

Christine is a truly phenomenal teacher. If you have any hesitations about starting voice lessons because you are afraid of singing in front of other people, have no fear! Christine made me feel completely comfortable from the very first minute of our first lesson together. She is classically trained and extremely knowledgable about singing. I would recommend beginning lessons with her to get a solid technical foundation even if you eventually want to sing pop or R&B (i.e. she is not just for classical/opera singers!) That being said, I've met several of her other students and heard them sing and some are very serious students of the craft; she is an excellent teacher for experienced singers as well. During lessons, she plays her (baby?) grand piano in a large private area of her home. The walls in the singing area are filled with books of sheet music, but she also happily found specific songs online for me to work on when she didn't have the music already. She has an incredible ear- she truly listens to you and can pinpoint and explain to you exactly what to change (your posture or breathing, enunciation etc.) to instantly improve your tone and pitch. Improving your voice is a long process, and there are no magical tricks (except practice practice practice!). But with Christine as your guide, you will see improvement and most importantly, you will gain confidence. She truly believes in her students, which helps them believe in themselves too.

I came to Christine after not singing for 5 years. I had previously taken classical voice lessons in high school and singing in choir. She taught me basic singing technique by explaining why I needed the keep larynx down and demonstrating proper breathing. She is extremely kind, helpful and flexible and has empowered me to feel much more confident in my singing and also focus on important details such as phrasing, diction and pronunciation. She has also challenged me with repertoire that is fun to sing and appropriate for my voice and age. I am excited to see how my voice continues to improve with her guidance.

I absolutely loved taking voice lessons with Tim. When I showed up to my first lesson, I literally knew nothing about how to sing properly and probably had terrible technique, but it was immediately apparent to me that he was very knowledgeable. Each time I was having a problem with a song or vocal exercise, he somehow knew exactly what was going on and could explain clearly how to adjust it. What I appreciated the most was that any time I got the hang of something, he would make sure that I could feel how it was different from what I was doing before, so that I would be able to replicate it later. I was only in New York/able to take lessons for a few weeks, and I'm already starting to be able to adjust things for myself when they don't feel right or run through a few possible tricks to help with hard sections of songs. Plus, even aside from all that, every lesson was so much fun! I used to be so self-conscious about my voice and it could sometimes distract me from the joy of singing, but remarkably I never felt self-conscious at all during my lessons and it made it easy to find that joy again, and I'm so grateful to Tim for that. My voice lessons were the highlight of my time in New York, and I'd highly recommend this studio to anyone.

Tim Russell was truly helpful in teaching me how to sing, and his lessons were always very enjoyable. He is really good at making you feel comfortable in his classes. He understands how to enable a person reach their maximum singing potential. As a beginner, I had no previous training, but he was extremely patient with me and made me feel more comfortable with my singing voice. As our lessons went on, he incorporated more vocal exercises in order to help me achieve new areas with my voice. He was very effective at adapting his coaching while I got better at singing. My voice literally transformed in ways that I had previously thought impossible. I literally went from receiving dirty looks to applause when I sang! All this was done with just 16 lessons with Mr. Russell, and I am eternally grateful. He truly loves his job and is both passionate and knowledgeable about his field, and I strongly recommend him as a vocal coach.

Ben H.

Verified review

Tim is not only the best voice teacher I've ever had but one of the best music teachers I've ever had. He's able to describe the physical elements of singing methodically and clearly, so that I understand not only what to do but why, which is important when you're later practicing on your own. And the lessons are insanely fun -- my wife and I took a joint lesson and had a blast. I think voice lessons with Innovative are going to be the new salsa dancing. I'd recommend either private lessons or one of their workshops. Jenna is great too!

What makes Nancy special as a voice teacher is her ability to understand her student. I did not want to become a professional, I just wanted to be able to sing in my church choir and not sound completely off. It turns out that there is a lot to singing which I had no knowledge of, the most important part is being relaxed and breathing properly. With her help I am singing much better than I ever thought I could and singing with my choir with so much more confidence! I highly recommend Nancy. She is patient (with me one often has to repeat segments over and over until they come out right), she never gets upset and she knows how to encourage you when you do well. She is warm and funny and it is a pleasure to have her as a teacher and a coach.

Nancy is a kind and insightful teacher who truly listens to her students' needs and aspirations. In my experience with Nancy, I've blossomed as a singer because she provides a comfortable space to experiment with my voice. She artfully tailors each lesson to help my vocal ability grow and become more refined. I am very impressed by her lessons-- instead of sticking to rigid methods that may not work for every student, she listens to my voice and experiments with techniques to strengthen my voice that have yielded tangible results! I was able to sing at a wedding recently with much more confidence and skill than I had before. Learning voice with Nancy has been an enlightening and enjoyable experience.

"My two sons, ages 10 and 7, have been playing piano with Jonathan Segal for over 5 and 2 years, respectively. I chose "playing" and not "taking lessons," very consciously, because Jonathan's jazzy, improvisational, and playful teaching style has made the lessons more like creative play and a labor of love than lessons for my boys. They are both progressing and mastering the basics, including ear training, sight reading, and theory, but also delight in composing music with him often. Jonathan's sense of humor, with its whimsy and sense of fun, is a riff of its own, just like his music. That is why my older son asked him 'Why can't I live with you?' " Donna G.

Jonathan Segal and I went to the HS of Music and Art together 'back in the day.' We remet at one of our reunions. I had toyed with singing jazz in recent years, totally unschooled. I asked him if he would teach me. I've been traveling to him from Brooklyn for lessons for a good part of this year. Our 'sessions' inspire me, keep me smiling. I don't practice much but, still, I am getting better as a singer and my dormant 'musicianship' is returning. He brings his musicality, marvelous skill and talent as a pianist, singer and musician to each lesson. Jonathan has a wealth of knowledge about all kinds of music and music theory, and, moreso, his teaching style is both encouraging and fun. He invites me to take musical chances, and each hour is infused with his great sense of humor. I feel so fortunate to have him as my teacher and recommend him highly." Marcy T.

Mariah Kaplan is an excellent teacher on many levels! Her upbeat, easy-going personality helped my young daughter feel comfortable immediately. Mariah quickly assessed my daughter’s musical level and customized a lesson plan for her that continually fosters growth. She did this by increasing musical theory exercises and switching her to a different, more effective lesson book. In addition, Mariah guided us to some helpful learning resources available online. Mariah consistently makes my daughter’s musical journey fun! In particular, she makes vocal warm up enticing and enjoyable. “Many Mumbling Mice” is a favorite. She regularly rewards good behavior and completed homework. Mariah is also very good at demonstrating vocal techniques which makes the learning process so much more comprehensive and efficient. Not only does Mariah make musical training fun, but she is very much aware of the importance of proper training. She stresses age-appropriate development of the young voice. In one instance, Mariah had to correct a potentially damaging vocal habit my daughter had developed on her own. Mariah redirected my daughter’s voice back to a healthy place through a series of exercises and examples. I greatly respect the fact that she is not only considering the vocalist’s singing for today but for the future as well. I feel that my daughter is in excellent hands with Mariah. I have seen the results Mariah’s training during public performances of both individual soloists and choirs. Her students are comfortable, confident and well-trained. Mariah selects vocally appropriate music for each student while making sure that the music is appealing to them as well. I greatly appreciate Mariah’s responsiveness to my concerns and questions regarding my daughter’s training. Moreover, I value the way she responds to my daughter with patience. Mariah is particularly good working with special needs students, although she is so well-trained and skilled that she can work effectively with any student. In short, Mariah Kaplan is an excellent vocal teacher that students of many levels would benefit working with.

My name is Molly and I am in 9th grade. I have been working with Mariah for about 6 months. When I came to her, I had been through 2 other voice teachers in a fairly short period of time. I was prepared to think Mariah was just going to be another name on the list, but she certainly wasn’t! She welcomed me with open arms the very first day. I have always had issues with jaw tension, and it was practically gone within the first few weeks of lessons. Now, I can’t even recreate what I was doing with my jaw! She has been the driving force of me improving my breath support and tone beyond measure. Since I have had Mariah, I have gotten into every vocal-based activity I have auditioned for. If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what will! I haven’t even mentioned her personality. Mariah is beyong warm and kindhearted. She and I could talk forever and not notice that a second went by. I can’t say how often I come into my lesson with some crazy audition music or request. No matter what, we work on what I want to and make it tons better every time! I would definitely recommend Mariah as a voice teacher!

Genya gently and so brilliantly coached me back to the point where I not only felt confident, but she even made me reach a range I never even knew I had! She took a holistic approach that melted away all my fears and bad habits until I was REALLY finding my true voice! Only a few months after working with her, I recorded a CD and had one of my songs featured on a hit TV Show! Genya pulled that ability that was lying dormant out of my shell and truly saved my musical life! She is an amazing teacher, mentor and soul!

To whom it may concern, Marina Poplavskaya has changed my vocal journey, entirely. I had the fortune of meeting her at the age of seventeen, just before my auditions for the major conservatories in New York City. I came to her with a wide array of bad habits and faulty technique. As an instructor and as a person, she was a breath of fresh air. She was straight-forward, concise, and incredibly clear as well as passionate and involved. Working on my technique was only the beginning. She taught me how to approach learning a piece/role, how to analyze libretto, understand concepts behind music, and develop correct and consistent diction with French, German, and Italian. Every piece we worked on, we would go into depth. No rock was left unturned. She helped expand my palate for references and was always available to answer any major (or minor) questions or concerns. My confidence in her grew stronger after each successful lesson. It was the first time everything taught to me made sense and was applicable even in my personal practice after my lessons. After not professionally studying with a private teacher for almost two years, I came to her with only a few months to prepare for my auditions and what she did in those few months was extraordinary. I now study at Mannes School of Music and I got accepted thanks to all the effort Marina put in. She set the foundation for a strong technique that I am lucky to build on every day. The instructors in my music classes noticed the difference immediately. My breathing was steady and stable, my tone was pointed and focused, and I had developed enough muscle strength to express dynamics and re-attack each phrase, without losing steam. To add to an unfaltering technique, I was an informed singer. Marina encouraged and guided me to do a word by word translation of each text that I was to perform, as well as its precise diction, which helped me deliver the music in a much more connected and accurate way. Without her, I would be lost as an artist. She made me a better student, a better musician, and a much stronger and more confident vocalist. I will be forever grateful. Sincerely, Yuliya Maschenko Mannes School of Music Lyric Soprano

I have been fortunate to have Marina as my voice coach for over a year since I started our voice lessons. Marina’s voice lessons have been invaluable in developing my singing skills. She is aware of a variety of approaches to teaching vocal and is continuously broadening her pedagogy while finding the best-practice suited for a particular lesson with a student. The voice and breathing exercises she taught me have made my vocal development consistent and strong. Our classes are always well informative, developmentally structured, productive, and very enjoyable. Not only Marina is a professional and talented singer herself with a long history of professional knowledge and experience, but she also possesses an exceptional ability to share her talent with students and to find a personalized way that would help them develop their own singing skills.

I took lessons from Marina and it was probably one of the best times I’ve ever had in a musical environment. Her teachings are personal and they feel very customized for you. She is very knowledgeable in her field and she makes you feel comfortable. The most important part is that she is patient. She is willing to invest more time to prevent you from hurting yourself and that’s a +5 in my book. I strongly recommend her as an instructor.

It was a wonderful experience studying with Professor James because I started my vocal journey with her, and it was awesome. She has a very effective, fresh, and totally unique teaching process. In one year and a half, everything that I learned from her has been enough to complement my actual daily routine of practice. It was a pretty excited first year of voice lessons. Personally, I think every good singer needs a good vocal teacher to begin this competitive journey, and I think Ms. James is the indicated and one of the best ones that can take you completely to the right track. She's outstanding!!

You can't go wrong with lessons from Amber! She's performed herself in both broadway and operatic styles, plus she's taught many, many successful students over the years. She's a top rate accompanist as well. I've never met anyone who could successfully navigate all of these teaching styles, perform them herself, and accompany as well. I recommend her with highest praise!

I met Valerie during a Masterclass held in Casentino in 2016. She was very positive, yet demanding and right on with spotting my technical issues. For the art of "bel canto" singing I have learned a lot during that week and - what I personally feel the best achievement of a Masterclass - taken inspiration and curiosity home with the wish to keep on working on these issues. Only a few lessons with Valerie have given me methods and ways of practicing the "bel canto specifics". After returning home I have started working with her via Skype-lessons (which works fine, given a distance of about 6.400 kilometers). Thank you Valerie!

Art is the best singing teacher I've ever had...and that's saying a lot, because I've been studying voice on and off for over 20 years. I've studied rock as well as opera, and art is the best at BOTH genres that I've ever met. He knows so much about the human voice, it's actually freakish! He can talk about any vocal technique and explain it's strengths and weaknesses in simple terms that are easy to understand. His own technical approach is so simple and natural -- it actually brings out and enhances your natural ability rather than trying to superimpose some artificial mumbo jumbo that just confuses you and sounds like crap! I've also observed many of his lessons, and he's great with females too (I'm a guy obviously haha). i was also surprised to find out that he is as skilled and knowledgeable about broadway music as he is about opera and rock. The other great thing about Art is that he is a good engineer as well, and he has a studio in his house. So he regularly records his students singing at their lessons and then emails them the mp3s. This is SO helpful...hearing yourself recorded on a regular basis in an objective way can help you grow as a vocalist by leaps and bounds. He has even made some great sounding demos for some of his more serious students, and those demos actually helped them secure auditions and singing jobs. He has even helped some of his younger students land some great auditions at reputable music schools. And finally, Art is one of the best people i know. He is a great guy who always gives 110%. He cares about all his students. He's also hilariously funny, which keeps me smiling and relaxed at my lessons. It's the perfect environment to learn voice, which by nature can be stressful sometimes. Art is the complete package when it comes to voice teachers! Give him a try...you won't be sorry :)

Four months ago, I became Arturo's student and he has literally transformed my voice in the most positive way. Not only does he have incredible detailed knowledge about the anatomical and technical aspects of the voice, but he also deeply understands the psychology of the vocal student. After previous disappointing experiences with other voice teachers, I felt that improvement was impossible. However, under Arturo's instruction my voice has improved well beyond my expectations. He's a phenomenal teacher and I plan on continuing to study with him indefinitely.

I've had the pleasure of working with Arturo for over a decade. Not only does he provide excellent vocal instruction, he tailors the lessons to fit your needs. He works extremely hard to strengthen the weakest areas of your current vocal set up, ultimately building and molding your voice into one strong solid instrument. Over the years I have found him to be immensely dedicated as a mentor and exceedingly loyal as a friend.

Corey carries much passion and knowledge for the saxophone. From fundamentals (e.g. positioning, embouchure, horn setup, and their effects on tone) to techniques to improve your chops, Corey provided a great understanding of my horn and sound, and tailored our lessons to develop aspects I enjoy about playing the saxophone. Improv, theory, composition... he's got it covered. I would recommend Corey to all different levels of players.

I could not have asked for a better experience than I had taking voice lessons with Rebecca for three consecutive years. With her help, I improved not only my voice but my confidence. When I started working with Rebecca my voice was barely trained and I had little control or knowledge over how I was using it. She worked with me week after week, giving me new songs that would test my limits and then show me techniques and strategies that would help my voice grow to the strength it would need for that song. I constantly found that a song would feel hard when she first gave it to me and then suddenly appear easier two or three weeks later because of how she was pushing me. It was Rebecca's genuine interest and faith in my voice that kept me going back to her for years, too. When I thought a note was too high to hit or a rhythm was impossible to figure out, she would gently insist that I would get it and then prove time and time again that I could. I owe my voice and my confidence to Rebecca and the incredible teacher, guide and role model that she is to her students.

Rebecca is an absolutely fantastic teacher, I'm learning so much and feel very encouraged! Not only is she able to teach technique but having the piano accompaniment elevates the learning experience and helps me to understand a song's emotion. It's also helpful to be taught by someone actively working in theater who has suggestions on how to take your skills outside the classroom. I recommend Rebecca to anyone and everyone, she is the best voice teacher I've ever had :)

Sonia has made learning to play the piano so much fun for this 57 year old who hasn't played the piano in over 40 years. She makes it informative and a lot of fun. I'm learning music theory! I look forward to practicing because she chooses pieces which challenge me to practice but don't overwhelm me. But the best part of my lesson is watching and listening to her play the piece I'm working on. She's an incredible pianist. I HIGHLY recommend Sonia.

I had always wanted to learn to play the piano, so my husband gave me three lessons as a birthday present. Sonia was assigned as my teacher and has shown great patience with her 'adult student.' An outstanding pianist, she tries different approaches, apps, and will play a piece for me herself, so that I can better understand the basics. I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons and recommend Sonia highly.

Corinn has taught my two daughters (13 & 15) piano and voice for the past 3 years. She is the best teacher we have had and we are thrilled that she has moved with us, by sheer luck, from London to NJ! She is extremely reliable and conscientious and is a talented and patient teacher who challenges my girls as individuals and has helped improve their skills tremendously. In just a few short months I can't believe how much I've learned from Jessica. My technique has improved; my tone in the upper part of my range has improved; how to keep my tongue from getting in the way / impeding the sound; so many aspects of singing. When I started my lessons I was particularly concerned that I might be doing something that was tiring my voice and causing it to lose volume. Jessica's knowledge of and ability to demonstrate proper singing technique helped me through that concern and I know I am a "healthier" singer now. Knowledge and ability aside, her approach is also very patient and very encouraging. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in improving their technique, tone, range, artistic ability, etc.

I sang with Jessica three years ago in a concert. I was very impressed with her technique. When I heard that she was going to open a studio, I immediately called her and started lessons with her. This has been one of my best decisions. She is not only a fantastic singer, but she is very knowledgeable about vocal pedagogy. What is gratifying to me is that she has the ability to explain exactly what you are doing incorrectly, but can also explain to you how to correct it and makes it easier for you to sing a "pop song or a Verdi aria". You feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment and not frustration in your lesson. She is funny, smart and talented!

Jessica has been an incredibly kind, supportive and knowledgable teacher. I've had a lot of voice teachers over the years, and she has helped take my voice to the next level with her scientifically-based techniques. I've learned about the physics and mechanics of how the voice works and ways to physiologically change my sound, which makes a lot of sense to me (as a former scientist myself). She has also found opportunities for me to sing outside of lessons, which I appreciate. I wholeheartedly recommend Jessica as a voice teacher - she will change your sound for the better.

I am a professional singer and was having some struggles with my voice, mostly due to fatigue and overuse. I went to Jonathan for some lessons and, I have to say, I feel much better. He started slowly with me, giving me some very helpful excercises to build on. After a few weeks, I definitely noticed a difference. With Jonathan, it seems that he isn't just teaching by the book, but also takes one's personal situation and needs into consideration. He is ALWAYS positive. Many voice lessons I leave feeling as if I've never sung a note in my life. Not with Jonathan. I always leave feeling good about my voice and ready for the next challenge. I highly recommend Jonathan as a teacher.
